Surah Al-Baqara Verse 236 - English Translation by Abdul Hye
Surah Al-Baqaraلَّا جُنَاحَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ إِن طَلَّقۡتُمُ ٱلنِّسَآءَ مَا لَمۡ تَمَسُّوهُنَّ أَوۡ تَفۡرِضُواْ لَهُنَّ فَرِيضَةٗۚ وَمَتِّعُوهُنَّ عَلَى ٱلۡمُوسِعِ قَدَرُهُۥ وَعَلَى ٱلۡمُقۡتِرِ قَدَرُهُۥ مَتَٰعَۢا بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِۖ حَقًّا عَلَى ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
There is no sin on you, if you divorce women while you have not yet touched (sexual relation) them, or fixed for them a settled portion (dower). Provide for them, the wealth according to his (person’s) means and the poor according to his means, a reasonable provision, and a duty upon the righteous people
