الٓمٓ
Alif Laam Miim
Surah Luqman, Verse 1
تِلۡكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ ٱلۡحَكِيمِ
Those are the signs of the book of wisdom
Surah Luqman, Verse 2
هُدٗى وَرَحۡمَةٗ لِّلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
a guidance and a mercy for the doers of good
Surah Luqman, Verse 3
ٱلَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُؤۡتُونَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَهُم بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ هُمۡ يُوقِنُونَ
those who establish worship (salat) and give charity (zakat) and are certain of the hereafter
Surah Luqman, Verse 4
أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ عَلَىٰ هُدٗى مِّن رَّبِّهِمۡۖ وَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُفۡلِحُونَ
Those are on guidance from their Fosterer and those are the persons who are successful
Surah Luqman, Verse 5
وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَشۡتَرِي لَهۡوَ ٱلۡحَدِيثِ لِيُضِلَّ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ بِغَيۡرِ عِلۡمٖ وَيَتَّخِذَهَا هُزُوًاۚ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٞ مُّهِينٞ
And among mankind is he who purchases (as his) pastime issue, misleading of (people) from the way of Allah, without having (any) knowledge, and takes it as a mockery. Those are the persons for whom there is a disgraceful punishment
Surah Luqman, Verse 6
وَإِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا وَلَّىٰ مُسۡتَكۡبِرٗا كَأَن لَّمۡ يَسۡمَعۡهَا كَأَنَّ فِيٓ أُذُنَيۡهِ وَقۡرٗاۖ فَبَشِّرۡهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
And when Our signs are read to him he turns back proudly as if he did not hear them, as if there is heaviness in his ears, so convey to him the news of a painful punishment
Surah Luqman, Verse 7
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمۡ جَنَّـٰتُ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
Those who believe and do righteous works, for them are gardens of bliss
Surah Luqman, Verse 8
خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَاۖ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقّٗاۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ
they will certainly stay in them, Allah’s promise is true and He is the Mighty, the Wise
Surah Luqman, Verse 9
خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ بِغَيۡرِ عَمَدٖ تَرَوۡنَهَاۖ وَأَلۡقَىٰ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ رَوَٰسِيَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِكُمۡ وَبَثَّ فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ دَآبَّةٖۚ وَأَنزَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ فَأَنۢبَتۡنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوۡجٖ كَرِيمٍ
He has created the skies (heavenly bodies) without any support that you see, and He has put mountains in the earth lest it should shake with you, and He has spread in it all (kinds) of moving creatures, and We sent down water from the sky, then We caused every kind of beneficial (thing) to grow therein
Surah Luqman, Verse 10
هَٰذَا خَلۡقُ ٱللَّهِ فَأَرُونِي مَاذَا خَلَقَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن دُونِهِۦۚ بَلِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ فِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٖ
This is the creation of Allah, so show me that which those besides Him have created, no, the unjust are in clear error. (R)
Surah Luqman, Verse 11
وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَا لُقۡمَٰنَ ٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ أَنِ ٱشۡكُرۡ لِلَّهِۚ وَمَن يَشۡكُرۡ فَإِنَّمَا يَشۡكُرُ لِنَفۡسِهِۦۖ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَنِيٌّ حَمِيدٞ
And indeed We gave wisdom to Luqman, that: be grateful to Allah, and one who is grateful then he is grateful only for (the benefit of) his own soul, and one who is ungrateful then Allah is certainly Independent, Praised, fit of) his own soul, and one who is ungrateful then Allah is certainly Independent, Praised
Surah Luqman, Verse 12
وَإِذۡ قَالَ لُقۡمَٰنُ لِٱبۡنِهِۦ وَهُوَ يَعِظُهُۥ يَٰبُنَيَّ لَا تُشۡرِكۡ بِٱللَّهِۖ إِنَّ ٱلشِّرۡكَ لَظُلۡمٌ عَظِيمٞ
and when Luqman said to son while admonishing him, “O my son! do not associate (any partner) with Allah. Polytheism is certainly a great injustice.”
Surah Luqman, Verse 13
وَوَصَّيۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيۡهِ حَمَلَتۡهُ أُمُّهُۥ وَهۡنًا عَلَىٰ وَهۡنٖ وَفِصَٰلُهُۥ فِي عَامَيۡنِ أَنِ ٱشۡكُرۡ لِي وَلِوَٰلِدَيۡكَ إِلَيَّ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ
And We have enjoined on man regarding his parents, his mother carried him (in states of) weakness upon weakness, and his weaning (was completed) in two years, (so these obligations demand) that (you) be grateful to Me and to your parents, towards Me is the destination
Surah Luqman, Verse 14
وَإِن جَٰهَدَاكَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن تُشۡرِكَ بِي مَا لَيۡسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلۡمٞ فَلَا تُطِعۡهُمَاۖ وَصَاحِبۡهُمَا فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا مَعۡرُوفٗاۖ وَٱتَّبِعۡ سَبِيلَ مَنۡ أَنَابَ إِلَيَّۚ ثُمَّ إِلَيَّ مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ
And if they strive with you that you should associate with Me (something) about which you have no knowledge, then do not obey them, but keep company with them in this world (in a manner that is) recognized (as good), and follow the way of him who turns to Me, then to Me is your return, then I will inform you about that which you used to do
Surah Luqman, Verse 15
يَٰبُنَيَّ إِنَّهَآ إِن تَكُ مِثۡقَالَ حَبَّةٖ مِّنۡ خَرۡدَلٖ فَتَكُن فِي صَخۡرَةٍ أَوۡ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ أَوۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ يَأۡتِ بِهَا ٱللَّهُۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَطِيفٌ خَبِيرٞ
(Luqman further said), “O my son! even if it is the weight of the grain of a mustard seed and it is in a rock or in the skies or in the earth, Allah will bring it, (because) Allah is certainly Subtlety Informed
Surah Luqman, Verse 16
يَٰبُنَيَّ أَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَأۡمُرۡ بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِ وَٱنۡهَ عَنِ ٱلۡمُنكَرِ وَٱصۡبِرۡ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَصَابَكَۖ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ مِنۡ عَزۡمِ ٱلۡأُمُورِ
O my son! establish worship (salat) and enjoin that which is recognized (as good) and stop (people) from that which is not recognized (as good) and be patient on whatever befalls on you, that certainly is among the deciding factors of affairs
Surah Luqman, Verse 17
وَلَا تُصَعِّرۡ خَدَّكَ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَمۡشِ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مَرَحًاۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ مُخۡتَالٖ فَخُورٖ
And do not turn away your cheek boastfully from people nor walk proudly in the earth, Allah certainly does not like anyone who considers himself great, boastful
Surah Luqman, Verse 18
وَٱقۡصِدۡ فِي مَشۡيِكَ وَٱغۡضُضۡ مِن صَوۡتِكَۚ إِنَّ أَنكَرَ ٱلۡأَصۡوَٰتِ لَصَوۡتُ ٱلۡحَمِيرِ
And be moderate in your walk and lower your voice, the harshest of voices is certainly the voice of the ass.”
Surah Luqman, Verse 19
أَلَمۡ تَرَوۡاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَأَسۡبَغَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ نِعَمَهُۥ ظَٰهِرَةٗ وَبَاطِنَةٗۗ وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يُجَٰدِلُ فِي ٱللَّهِ بِغَيۡرِ عِلۡمٖ وَلَا هُدٗى وَلَا كِتَٰبٖ مُّنِيرٖ
Did you not consider that Allah has subjected to your service that which is in the skies and that which is in the earth and has (showered) His favors on you excessively (both) externally and internally? And among mankind is he who disputes regarding Allah without knowledge and without guidance and without a book giving light
Surah Luqman, Verse 20
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱتَّبِعُواْ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ قَالُواْ بَلۡ نَتَّبِعُ مَا وَجَدۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ ءَابَآءَنَآۚ أَوَلَوۡ كَانَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ يَدۡعُوهُمۡ إِلَىٰ عَذَابِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ
And when it is said to them, “Follow that which Allah has sent down,” they say, “No, we will follow that on which we found our fathers.” What! even if the devil used to invite them to the punishment of blazing fire
Surah Luqman, Verse 21
۞وَمَن يُسۡلِمۡ وَجۡهَهُۥٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحۡسِنٞ فَقَدِ ٱسۡتَمۡسَكَ بِٱلۡعُرۡوَةِ ٱلۡوُثۡقَىٰۗ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلۡأُمُورِ
And one who submits himself to Allah and he is the doer of good, then he has indeed caught hold of a strong handle for which there is no breaking off, and the (decision of) the consequences of affairs is Allah’s
Surah Luqman, Verse 22
وَمَن كَفَرَ فَلَا يَحۡزُنكَ كُفۡرُهُۥٓۚ إِلَيۡنَا مَرۡجِعُهُمۡ فَنُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا عَمِلُوٓاْۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ
And one who does not believe, do not let his infidelity grieve you, to Us is their return, so We will inform them of that which they did. Allah is certainly the Knower of that which is in the bosoms
Surah Luqman, Verse 23
نُمَتِّعُهُمۡ قَلِيلٗا ثُمَّ نَضۡطَرُّهُمۡ إِلَىٰ عَذَابٍ غَلِيظٖ
We will make them enjoy a little then We will drive them towards a harsh punishment
Surah Luqman, Verse 24
وَلَئِن سَأَلۡتَهُم مَّنۡ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّهُۚ قُلِ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِۚ بَلۡ أَكۡثَرُهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ
And if you ask them, “Who created the skies and the earth?” They will definitely say, “Allah.” Say, “Praise is due only for Allah, but the majority of them does not know.”
Surah Luqman, Verse 25
لِلَّهِ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلۡغَنِيُّ ٱلۡحَمِيدُ
Allah’s is whatever is in the skies and the earth. Allah is certainly the Independent, the Praised
Surah Luqman, Verse 26
وَلَوۡ أَنَّمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مِن شَجَرَةٍ أَقۡلَٰمٞ وَٱلۡبَحۡرُ يَمُدُّهُۥ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦ سَبۡعَةُ أَبۡحُرٖ مَّا نَفِدَتۡ كَلِمَٰتُ ٱللَّهِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٞ
And had all the trees that are in the earth been pens and the sea (were ink) with seven more seas added to it, (even then) the words of Allah would not be exhausted, Allah is certainly Mighty, Wise
Surah Luqman, Verse 27
مَّا خَلۡقُكُمۡ وَلَا بَعۡثُكُمۡ إِلَّا كَنَفۡسٖ وَٰحِدَةٍۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعُۢ بَصِيرٌ
Your creation and your raising is nothing but like (the creation and raising of) a single soul. Allah is certainly Hearing, Seeing
Surah Luqman, Verse 28
أَلَمۡ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُولِجُ ٱلَّيۡلَ فِي ٱلنَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِي ٱلَّيۡلِ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ كُلّٞ يَجۡرِيٓ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٖ مُّسَمّٗى وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِيرٞ
Did you not consider that Allah makes the night to enter into the day and makes the day to enter into the night and He has compelled the sun and the moon (to follow His laws), each one moves till an appointed term, and that Allah is informed of what you do
Surah Luqman, Verse 29
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلۡحَقُّ وَأَنَّ مَا يَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ ٱلۡبَٰطِلُ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلۡعَلِيُّ ٱلۡكَبِيرُ
That is because Allah is the Reality and that which they pray to besides Him, is falsehood; and that Allah is the High, the Great
Surah Luqman, Verse 30
أَلَمۡ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱلۡفُلۡكَ تَجۡرِي فِي ٱلۡبَحۡرِ بِنِعۡمَتِ ٱللَّهِ لِيُرِيَكُم مِّنۡ ءَايَٰتِهِۦٓۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٖ شَكُورٖ
Did you not consider that the ships sail in the sea due to Allah’s favor, that He may show you (some) of His signs? Certainly there are signs in that for every patient, grateful one
Surah Luqman, Verse 31
وَإِذَا غَشِيَهُم مَّوۡجٞ كَٱلظُّلَلِ دَعَوُاْ ٱللَّهَ مُخۡلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ فَلَمَّا نَجَّىٰهُمۡ إِلَى ٱلۡبَرِّ فَمِنۡهُم مُّقۡتَصِدٞۚ وَمَا يَجۡحَدُ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِلَّا كُلُّ خَتَّارٖ كَفُورٖ
And when a wave covers them like overshadowing clouds, they pray to Allah, making religion exclusively for Him, but when He brings them safe to the land, then among them there are those who compromise (by not continuing to keep religion purely for Allah); and no one knowingly denies Our signs except every traitor, ungrateful one
Surah Luqman, Verse 32
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱتَّقُواْ رَبَّكُمۡ وَٱخۡشَوۡاْ يَوۡمٗا لَّا يَجۡزِي وَالِدٌ عَن وَلَدِهِۦ وَلَا مَوۡلُودٌ هُوَ جَازٍ عَن وَالِدِهِۦ شَيۡـًٔاۚ إِنَّ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقّٞۖ فَلَا تَغُرَّنَّكُمُ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَلَا يَغُرَّنَّكُم بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡغَرُورُ
O mankind! be careful of your Fosterer and fear the day when a father will not be able to pay for the penalty on behalf of his son, and the son will not be able to pay for anything by way of penalty on behalf of his father. Allah’s promise is certainly true, so do not let the life of this world deceive you nor let the deceiver deceive you about Allah
Surah Luqman, Verse 33
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عِندَهُۥ عِلۡمُ ٱلسَّاعَةِ وَيُنَزِّلُ ٱلۡغَيۡثَ وَيَعۡلَمُ مَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡحَامِۖ وَمَا تَدۡرِي نَفۡسٞ مَّاذَا تَكۡسِبُ غَدٗاۖ وَمَا تَدۡرِي نَفۡسُۢ بِأَيِّ أَرۡضٖ تَمُوتُۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرُۢ
The knowledge of the hour of doom is certainly with Allah. And He sends down the rain. And He knows that which is in the wombs. And no person knows what he will earn tomorrow (in future). And no person knows in what (part of) the earth he will die. Allah is certainly Knowing, Informed
Surah Luqman, Verse 34
