Surah Fussilat Verse 14 - English Translation by Mir Aneesuddin
Surah Fussilatإِذۡ جَآءَتۡهُمُ ٱلرُّسُلُ مِنۢ بَيۡنِ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَمِنۡ خَلۡفِهِمۡ أَلَّا تَعۡبُدُوٓاْ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَۖ قَالُواْ لَوۡ شَآءَ رَبُّنَا لَأَنزَلَ مَلَـٰٓئِكَةٗ فَإِنَّا بِمَآ أُرۡسِلۡتُم بِهِۦ كَٰفِرُونَ
When the messengers came to them from before them and from behind them ( saying ), “Do not serve ( worship, anything ) except God,” they said, “Had our Lord willed He would have sent down angels, so we are rejecters of that with which you are sent.”
