Surah Al-Araf Verse 20 - English Translation by Mir Aneesuddin
Surah Al-Arafفَوَسۡوَسَ لَهُمَا ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ لِيُبۡدِيَ لَهُمَا مَا وُۥرِيَ عَنۡهُمَا مِن سَوۡءَٰتِهِمَا وَقَالَ مَا نَهَىٰكُمَا رَبُّكُمَا عَنۡ هَٰذِهِ ٱلشَّجَرَةِ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَا مَلَكَيۡنِ أَوۡ تَكُونَا مِنَ ٱلۡخَٰلِدِينَ
But the devil whispered to them both, so as to make manifest to them that which was hidden from them of their shame, and said, "Your Lord has forbidden you this tree only (for the reason that after eating it), both of you will become angels or become immortals
