Surah As-Saaffat - English Translation by Syed Vickar Ahamed
وَٱلصَّـٰٓفَّـٰتِ صَفّٗا
By those who arrange themselves in ranks (or rows, to serve and to worship Allah)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 1
فَٱلزَّـٰجِرَٰتِ زَجۡرٗا
And by those who raise the clouds in a holy way, (to keep away the fears from the mind of humans)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 2
فَٱلتَّـٰلِيَٰتِ ذِكۡرًا
And those who recite the Message (of Allah)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 3
إِنَّ إِلَٰهَكُمۡ لَوَٰحِدٞ
Surely! (And assuredly,) your Allah is One (Wah'id)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 4
رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ ٱلۡمَشَٰرِقِ
Lord of the heavens and of the earth, and all (that is) between them, and Lord of every point of the sun-rising, (that keeps changing every day of the year)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 5
إِنَّا زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا بِزِينَةٍ ٱلۡكَوَاكِبِ
Verily, We have truly stored the lower heaven with beauty (of) the stars—
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 6
وَحِفۡظٗا مِّن كُلِّ شَيۡطَٰنٖ مَّارِدٖ
(For beauty) and for protection against every tough (unwilling and) revolting Satan
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 7
لَّا يَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى ٱلۡمَلَإِ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ وَيُقۡذَفُونَ مِن كُلِّ جَانِبٖ
(So that) they (the Satans') should not try to hear from the direction of the Exalted Assembly (of men and angels in Allah’s service and worship) but (they) be thrown out from every side
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 8
دُحُورٗاۖ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٞ وَاصِبٌ
Outcast (and unwelcome), they are under an everlasting penalty
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 9
إِلَّا مَنۡ خَطِفَ ٱلۡخَطۡفَةَ فَأَتۡبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٞ ثَاقِبٞ
Except such who may snatch something by stealing: And they are being followed by a flaming Fire of stabbing brightness
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 10
فَٱسۡتَفۡتِهِمۡ أَهُمۡ أَشَدُّ خَلۡقًا أَم مَّنۡ خَلَقۡنَآۚ إِنَّا خَلَقۡنَٰهُم مِّن طِينٖ لَّازِبِۭ
Then just ask (the disbelievers) what they think: Are they the more difficult to create, or the (other) creations whom We have created surely, We have created them (the disbelievers) out of a sticky clay
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 11
بَلۡ عَجِبۡتَ وَيَسۡخَرُونَ
Nay! Do you wonder while they mock (and make fun of you and the Quran)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 12
وَإِذَا ذُكِّرُواْ لَا يَذۡكُرُونَ
And when they are reminded, they pay no attention—
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 13
وَإِذَا رَأَوۡاْ ءَايَةٗ يَسۡتَسۡخِرُونَ
And when they see a Sign (from Allah), they mock at it
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 14
وَقَالُوٓاْ إِنۡ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحۡرٞ مُّبِينٌ
And they say: "This is nothing but evident magic
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 15
أَءِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابٗا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوثُونَ
What!" (they ask), "When we are dead, and become dust and bones, shall we (then) be resurrected (raised up again)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 16
أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ
And also our fathers from the old (days)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 17
قُلۡ نَعَمۡ وَأَنتُمۡ دَٰخِرُونَ
You say: "Yes, then you shall (also) be put to shame (because of your evil)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 18
فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجۡرَةٞ وَٰحِدَةٞ فَإِذَا هُمۡ يَنظُرُونَ
Then it will be a single (harsh) cry; And look, they will begin to see
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 19
وَقَالُواْ يَٰوَيۡلَنَا هَٰذَا يَوۡمُ ٱلدِّينِ
They will say: "Woe (misery) to us! This is the Day of Judgment
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 20
هَٰذَا يَوۡمُ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ ٱلَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ
(A voice will say:) "This is the Day of Sorting Out, whose Truth you denied (once)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 21
۞ٱحۡشُرُواْ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ وَأَزۡوَٰجَهُمۡ وَمَا كَانُواْ يَعۡبُدُونَ
(The angels will be told): "Bring (all of) you up (for Judgment); The wrongdoers and their companions; And the things they worshipped—
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 22
مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَٱهۡدُوهُمۡ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ
Besides Allah, and lead them to the way to the (burning) Fire
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 23
وَقِفُوهُمۡۖ إِنَّهُم مَّسۡـُٔولُونَ
But stop them, verily, they must be asked
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 24
مَا لَكُمۡ لَا تَنَاصَرُونَ
What is the matter with you, why do you not help each other (now)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 25
بَلۡ هُمُ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ مُسۡتَسۡلِمُونَ
No! But on that Day they shall submit themselves, (to the Judgment)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 26
وَأَقۡبَلَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضٖ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
And they will turn to one another, and question one another
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 27
قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّكُمۡ كُنتُمۡ تَأۡتُونَنَا عَنِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ
They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right hand (of power and authority)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 28
قَالُواْ بَل لَّمۡ تَكُونُواْ مُؤۡمِنِينَ
They will reply: "No, you, yourselves were not believers
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 29
وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيۡكُم مِّن سُلۡطَٰنِۭۖ بَلۡ كُنتُمۡ قَوۡمٗا طَٰغِينَ
Also we did not have any authority over you. No, it was you who were a transgressing people
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 30
فَحَقَّ عَلَيۡنَا قَوۡلُ رَبِّنَآۖ إِنَّا لَذَآئِقُونَ
So now (this moment) has come true against us, the Word of our Lord that we shall really taste (the penalty of our sins)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 31
فَأَغۡوَيۡنَٰكُمۡ إِنَّا كُنَّا غَٰوِينَ
We led you astray: Because, truly we were ourselves astray
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 32
فَإِنَّهُمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٖ فِي ٱلۡعَذَابِ مُشۡتَرِكُونَ
Then truly, (on) that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 33
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَفۡعَلُ بِٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
Surely, that is how We shall deal with the criminals (Al-Mujrimun)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 34
إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوٓاْ إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمۡ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ
Truly, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, they would fill themselves up with (false) pride
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 35
وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوٓاْ ءَالِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٖ مَّجۡنُونِۭ
And they said: "What! Shall we give up our gods for the sake of a poet possessed?" (Referring to Prophet)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 36
بَلۡ جَآءَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
No, he (the Messenger) has come with the Truth, and he restates (the Message of) the messengers (before him)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 37
إِنَّكُمۡ لَذَآئِقُواْ ٱلۡعَذَابِ ٱلۡأَلِيمِ
Verily, you shall really taste the painful Penalty—
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 38
وَمَا تُجۡزَوۡنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ
But it will be no more than the penalty for (the evil) that you have done —
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 39
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ
Except the true (and loving) servants of Allah—
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 40
أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمۡ رِزۡقٞ مَّعۡلُومٞ
For them, their food (and provision) is known
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 41
فَوَٰكِهُ وَهُم مُّكۡرَمُونَ
Fruits (and Joys); And they (shall have) honor and dignity
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 42
فِي جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
In Gardens of (supreme) happiness
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 43
عَلَىٰ سُرُرٖ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ
Facing each other on thrones (of dignity)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 44
يُطَافُ عَلَيۡهِم بِكَأۡسٖ مِّن مَّعِينِۭ
Around to them will be passed a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 45
بَيۡضَآءَ لَذَّةٖ لِّلشَّـٰرِبِينَ
Crystal-white (and) of a delicious taste for those who drink (from it)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 46
لَا فِيهَا غَوۡلٞ وَلَا هُمۡ عَنۡهَا يُنزَفُونَ
Free from all pains (and annoyances); They will not suffer intoxication (from it)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 47
وَعِندَهُمۡ قَٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرۡفِ عِينٞ
And beside them will be noble (and pure) women, holding back their looks, with big eyes (filled wonder and beauty)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 48
كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيۡضٞ مَّكۡنُونٞ
As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded (from evil)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 49
فَأَقۡبَلَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضٖ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
Then they will turn to one another and question one another
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 50
قَالَ قَآئِلٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ إِنِّي كَانَ لِي قَرِينٞ
One of them will start the speak and say: "Verily, I had a close companion (on the earth)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 51
يَقُولُ أَءِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلۡمُصَدِّقِينَ
Who used to say: 'What! Are you from those (people) who confirms the Truth (of the Message)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 52
أَءِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابٗا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَدِينُونَ
That when we die and become dust and bones, shall we really receive the rewards and punishments
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 53
قَالَ هَلۡ أَنتُم مُّطَّلِعُونَ
(The speaker) said: "Would you like to look down
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 54
فَٱطَّلَعَ فَرَءَاهُ فِي سَوَآءِ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ
So he looked down and saw him (the questioner) in the middle of the Fire
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 55
قَالَ تَٱللَّهِ إِن كِدتَّ لَتُرۡدِينِ
He (the speaker) said: "By Allah! You brought me very close to ruin (in this Hell)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 56
وَلَوۡلَا نِعۡمَةُ رَبِّي لَكُنتُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُحۡضَرِينَ
Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I would surely be among those brought (to Hell)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 57
أَفَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ
(The people of Paradise will say:) "Is it (true) that we will not die (again)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 58
إِلَّا مَوۡتَتَنَا ٱلۡأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 59
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡعَظِيمُ
Surely, this is the supreme success (to be in the Paradise of joy)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 60
لِمِثۡلِ هَٰذَا فَلۡيَعۡمَلِ ٱلۡعَٰمِلُونَ
For those who like (the state) this (joy) let (them) all work hard, (those) who wish to strive
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 61
أَذَٰلِكَ خَيۡرٞ نُّزُلًا أَمۡ شَجَرَةُ ٱلزَّقُّومِ
Is that (the Paradise), the better place (of joy) or the (evil and wicked) tree of Zaqqum (in the Pit of Hell, see 37.64—)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 62
إِنَّا جَعَلۡنَٰهَا فِتۡنَةٗ لِّلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
Truly, We have made it (the evil tree of Zaqqum) a trial for the wrongdoers
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 63
إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٞ تَخۡرُجُ فِيٓ أَصۡلِ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ
Verily, it is a tree that comes out from the bottom of Hell-Fire
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 64
طَلۡعُهَا كَأَنَّهُۥ رُءُوسُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينِ
The buds of its fruit-stalk, come out of the stems; (They are) like the heads of Satans
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 65
فَإِنَّهُمۡ لَأٓكِلُونَ مِنۡهَا فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡبُطُونَ
Truly, they (the wrongdoers) will eat from there and fill their stomachs with it
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 66
ثُمَّ إِنَّ لَهُمۡ عَلَيۡهَا لَشَوۡبٗا مِّنۡ حَمِيمٖ
Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 67
ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرۡجِعَهُمۡ لَإِلَى ٱلۡجَحِيمِ
Then, thereafter, verily their return will be to the burning Fire of Hell
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 68
إِنَّهُمۡ أَلۡفَوۡاْ ءَابَآءَهُمۡ ضَآلِّينَ
Truly, they found their fathers on the wrong path
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 69
فَهُمۡ عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِهِمۡ يُهۡرَعُونَ
So they (also) were rushed down after them (in their fathers evil footsteps)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 70
وَلَقَدۡ ضَلَّ قَبۡلَهُمۡ أَكۡثَرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
And indeed, before them, many (people) from the olden days went astray—
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 71
وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا فِيهِم مُّنذِرِينَ
And indeed, We sent (messengers) among them, to warn them—
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 72
فَٱنظُرۡ كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلۡمُنذَرِينَ
Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but did not pay attention)—
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 73
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ
Except the devoted (and loving) servants of Allah
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 74
وَلَقَدۡ نَادَىٰنَا نُوحٞ فَلَنِعۡمَ ٱلۡمُجِيبُونَ
And indeed, (in the old days), Nuh (Noah) cried to Us, and We are the best of those to answer him
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 75
وَنَجَّيۡنَٰهُ وَأَهۡلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلۡكَرۡبِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
And We rescued him, and his family from the great destruction (of the Flood)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 76
وَجَعَلۡنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُۥ هُمُ ٱلۡبَاقِينَ
And made his children (and descendants) to live (and stay on this earth)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 77
وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ
And We left for him (this noble blessing) in the generations to follow in later times
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 78
سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ نُوحٖ فِي ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
Peace! (and greetings) to Nuh (Noah) among the (Our) Creation
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 79
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
Truly, like this do We reward those who do good
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 80
إِنَّهُۥ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Verily, he (Nuh) was one of Our believing servants
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 81
ثُمَّ أَغۡرَقۡنَا ٱلۡأٓخَرِينَ
Then We drowned the others (in the Flood)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 82
۞وَإِنَّ مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ لَإِبۡرَٰهِيمَ
And surely, among those who followed his (Nuh’s) way was Ibrahim (Abraham)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 83
إِذۡ جَآءَ رَبَّهُۥ بِقَلۡبٖ سَلِيمٍ
When he came to his Lord with a pure heart
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 84
إِذۡ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوۡمِهِۦ مَاذَا تَعۡبُدُونَ
When he said to his father and to his people, "What is it that, which you worship
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 85
أَئِفۡكًا ءَالِهَةٗ دُونَ ٱللَّهِ تُرِيدُونَ
Is it a lie, false gods other than Allah, that you want
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 86
فَمَا ظَنُّكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
Then what do you know about the Lord of the Worlds (Rab-Al-'Ala'meen)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 87
فَنَظَرَ نَظۡرَةٗ فِي ٱلنُّجُومِ
Then he took a look at the stars
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 88
فَقَالَ إِنِّي سَقِيمٞ
And he said, "I am truly sick (at my heart)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 89
فَتَوَلَّوۡاْ عَنۡهُ مُدۡبِرِينَ
So they (his people) turned away from him, and left (him)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 90
فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ ءَالِهَتِهِمۡ فَقَالَ أَلَا تَأۡكُلُونَ
Then he turned to their gods and said: "Will you not eat (from what is offered to you)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 91
مَا لَكُمۡ لَا تَنطِقُونَ
What is the matter with you that you do not speak (and make sense)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 92
فَرَاغَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ضَرۡبَۢا بِٱلۡيَمِينِ
Then he turned upon them (their gods), striking (them) with the right hand
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 93
فَأَقۡبَلُوٓاْ إِلَيۡهِ يَزِفُّونَ
Then (the worshippers) came with quick steps, and faced (him)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 94
قَالَ أَتَعۡبُدُونَ مَا تَنۡحِتُونَ
He said: "Do you worship what you have carved (yourselves)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 95
وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمۡ وَمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ
While (it is) Allah (Who) has created you and (also) what you have made
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 96
قَالُواْ ٱبۡنُواْ لَهُۥ بُنۡيَٰنٗا فَأَلۡقُوهُ فِي ٱلۡجَحِيمِ
They said: "Build for him a house (burning like a furnace), and throw him into the blazing fire
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 97
فَأَرَادُواْ بِهِۦ كَيۡدٗا فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُمُ ٱلۡأَسۡفَلِينَ
So (after having failed; See 21.69), they then took a way (to hurt) against him, but We made them the ones most ashamed
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 98
وَقَالَ إِنِّي ذَاهِبٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّي سَيَهۡدِينِ
And he said: "Verily, I am going to my Lord! He will surely guide me
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 99
رَبِّ هَبۡ لِي مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
O my Lord! Grant me (a progeny) of the righteous
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 100
فَبَشَّرۡنَٰهُ بِغُلَٰمٍ حَلِيمٖ
So, We gave him the good news of a boy ready (to be born) to suffer and be patient
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 101
فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ ٱلسَّعۡيَ قَالَ يَٰبُنَيَّ إِنِّيٓ أَرَىٰ فِي ٱلۡمَنَامِ أَنِّيٓ أَذۡبَحُكَ فَٱنظُرۡ مَاذَا تَرَىٰۚ قَالَ يَـٰٓأَبَتِ ٱفۡعَلۡ مَا تُؤۡمَرُۖ سَتَجِدُنِيٓ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ
And when (his son, Ismail) became (the age to) work with him, he (Ibrahim) said: "O my son! I see in a dream (vision) that I offer you in sacrifice (to Allah): Now see what is your (own) thought!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do like you are commanded: You will find me, if Allah so wills one who has (great) patience (and constancy)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 102
فَلَمَّآ أَسۡلَمَا وَتَلَّهُۥ لِلۡجَبِينِ
Then, when they both had submitted their wills (to Allah’s Wish), and he (Ibrahim) had laid him (his son, Ismail) prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 103
وَنَٰدَيۡنَٰهُ أَن يَـٰٓإِبۡرَٰهِيمُ
We called out to him, "O Ibrahim (Abraham)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 104
قَدۡ صَدَّقۡتَ ٱلرُّءۡيَآۚ إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
You have already fulfilled your vision!"— Verily, thus We do reward those who do good
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 105
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلۡبَلَـٰٓؤُاْ ٱلۡمُبِينُ
Indeed, it was clearly a trial (for Ibrahim)—
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 106
وَفَدَيۡنَٰهُ بِذِبۡحٍ عَظِيمٖ
And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (with that of a ram)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 107
وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ
And We left for him (this blessing) in the generations to follow in later times
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 108
سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ
Peace be upon to Ibrahim (Abraham)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 109
كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
Verily, thus do We reward those who do good
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 110
إِنَّهُۥ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Indeed, he was one of Our believing servants
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 111
وَبَشَّرۡنَٰهُ بِإِسۡحَٰقَ نَبِيّٗا مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
And We gave him the good news of Ishaq (Isaac)— A prophet— One of the righteous
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 112
وَبَٰرَكۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ وَعَلَىٰٓ إِسۡحَٰقَۚ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا مُحۡسِنٞ وَظَالِمٞ لِّنَفۡسِهِۦ مُبِينٞ
We blessed him and Ishaq (Isaac): And of their children (and descendants) are (some) who do right, and (some) who clearly do wrong to their own souls
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 113
وَلَقَدۡ مَنَنَّا عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ
And again, (from the past) We bestowed Our favor on Musa (Moses) and Haroon (Aaron)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 114
وَنَجَّيۡنَٰهُمَا وَقَوۡمَهُمَا مِنَ ٱلۡكَرۡبِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
And We saved them and their people from (their) great misfortune
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 115
وَنَصَرۡنَٰهُمۡ فَكَانُواْ هُمُ ٱلۡغَٰلِبِينَ
And We helped them, so that they overcame (their troubles)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 116
وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمَا ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَبِينَ
And We gave them the Book and Clear Scripture (Torah, which helps to make things clear)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 117
وَهَدَيۡنَٰهُمَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ
And We guided them to the Straight Path
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 118
وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمَا فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ
And We left for them (this blessing) in the generations to follow in later times
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 119
سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ
“Peace, be upon Musa (Moses) and to Haroon (Aaron)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 120
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
Verily, thus do We reward those who do good
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 121
إِنَّهُمَا مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Indeed, they were two of Our believing servants
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 122
وَإِنَّ إِلۡيَاسَ لَمِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
And verily, Ilyas (Elias) was one of Our messengers
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 123
إِذۡ قَالَ لِقَوۡمِهِۦٓ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
When he said to his people: "Will you fear (Allah)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 124
أَتَدۡعُونَ بَعۡلٗا وَتَذَرُونَ أَحۡسَنَ ٱلۡخَٰلِقِينَ
Will you call upon the false god (Baal) and give up the Best of Creators—
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 125
ٱللَّهَ رَبَّكُمۡ وَرَبَّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
Allah— Your Lord and (Cherisher and) the Lord (and Cherisher) of your fathers from the earlier days
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 126
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَإِنَّهُمۡ لَمُحۡضَرُونَ
But they denied him, so they will be truly brought up (for punishment)—
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 127
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ
Except the sincere and the devoted servants of Allah (among them)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 128
وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ
And We left for him (this blessing) in the generations to follow in later times
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 129
سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِلۡ يَاسِينَ
Peace be upon those like Ilyas (Elias)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 130
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
Verily, thus do We reward those who do good
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 131
إِنَّهُۥ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Indeed, he was one of Our believing servants
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 132
وَإِنَّ لُوطٗا لَّمِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
And verily, Lut (Lot) was one of the messengers
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 133
إِذۡ نَجَّيۡنَٰهُ وَأَهۡلَهُۥٓ أَجۡمَعِينَ
Truly, We saved him and all his people (with him)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 134
إِلَّا عَجُوزٗا فِي ٱلۡغَٰبِرِينَ
Except an old woman (his wife) who was with those who fell behind
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 135
ثُمَّ دَمَّرۡنَا ٱلۡأٓخَرِينَ
Then We destroyed the rest
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 136
وَإِنَّكُمۡ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيۡهِم مُّصۡبِحِينَ
Surely, you pass by their (sites) by the morning—
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 137
وَبِٱلَّيۡلِۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ
And by night: Will you not reflect and understand
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 138
وَإِنَّ يُونُسَ لَمِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
And verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the messengers
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 139
إِذۡ أَبَقَ إِلَى ٱلۡفُلۡكِ ٱلۡمَشۡحُونِ
When he ran away (like a slave runs from captivity) to the ship (fully) loaded (with men and cargo)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 140
فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُدۡحَضِينَ
Then he (agreed to foretell fortunes and) cast lots, (and he was blamed for the ships bad weather) and he was a loser, punished (and thrown in the sea)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 141
فَٱلۡتَقَمَهُ ٱلۡحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٞ
Then the (big) fish swallowed him, and he had done actions worthy of blame (by running away from his mission)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 142
فَلَوۡلَآ أَنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُسَبِّحِينَ
If it was that he had not (repented and) glorified Allah
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 143
لَلَبِثَ فِي بَطۡنِهِۦٓ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ يُبۡعَثُونَ
He would surely have remained inside the fish till the Day of Resurrection (to be raised from the dead)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 144
۞فَنَبَذۡنَٰهُ بِٱلۡعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٞ
But We cast (threw) him on the open shore while he was (still) sick
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 145
وَأَنۢبَتۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ شَجَرَةٗ مِّن يَقۡطِينٖ
And We made a vine (of hard shelled fruit) to grow over him for shade
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 146
وَأَرۡسَلۡنَٰهُ إِلَىٰ مِاْئَةِ أَلۡفٍ أَوۡ يَزِيدُونَ
And We sent him to (teach Allah’s Message to) a hundred thousand (men) or more
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 147
فَـَٔامَنُواْ فَمَتَّعۡنَٰهُمۡ إِلَىٰ حِينٖ
And they believed; So We let them enjoy (their lives) for a while
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 148
فَٱسۡتَفۡتِهِمۡ أَلِرَبِّكَ ٱلۡبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ ٱلۡبَنُونَ
Now ask them (the unbelievers) what they think: Is it that your Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 149
أَمۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ إِنَٰثٗا وَهُمۡ شَٰهِدُونَ
Or that We created the angels female, and they have seen (it)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 150
أَلَآ إِنَّهُم مِّنۡ إِفۡكِهِمۡ لَيَقُولُونَ
Verily, is it not they who say (in their disbelief and), from their own lies and sayings
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 151
وَلَدَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِنَّهُمۡ لَكَٰذِبُونَ
Allah has had children?" And verily, they are liars
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 152
أَصۡطَفَى ٱلۡبَنَاتِ عَلَى ٱلۡبَنِينَ
Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 153
مَا لَكُمۡ كَيۡفَ تَحۡكُمُونَ
What is the matter with you? How do you decide
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 154
أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
Then will you not remember (receive the warning)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 155
أَمۡ لَكُمۡ سُلۡطَٰنٞ مُّبِينٞ
Or do you have a clear authority
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 156
فَأۡتُواْ بِكِتَٰبِكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ
(If so), then you bring your Book (of authority) if you are truthful
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 157
وَجَعَلُواْ بَيۡنَهُۥ وَبَيۡنَ ٱلۡجِنَّةِ نَسَبٗاۚ وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمَتِ ٱلۡجِنَّةُ إِنَّهُمۡ لَمُحۡضَرُونَ
And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the jinns', but the jinns' know (very well) that they (also) have to appear (for Judgment)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 158
سُبۡحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
Glorified be Allah! (He is) Free from the things that they relate (to Him)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 159
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ
Except those slaves of Allah, whom He chooses
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 160
فَإِنَّكُمۡ وَمَا تَعۡبُدُونَ
So surely, neither you nor those you worship—
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 161
مَآ أَنتُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ بِفَٰتِنِينَ
Can lead (any of Allah’s servents) into temptation (and lies) about Allah
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 162
إِلَّا مَنۡ هُوَ صَالِ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ
Except those who are (by themselves) going to the blazing Fire (of Hell)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 163
وَمَامِنَّآ إِلَّا لَهُۥ مَقَامٞ مَّعۡلُومٞ
(Those angels arranged in ranks to serve Allah say): "Not even one of us does not have a place appointed
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 164
وَإِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ ٱلصَّآفُّونَ
And, verily we are surely arranged in ranks (for Allah’s Service)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 165
وَإِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُسَبِّحُونَ
And surely we are those who speak out (Allah’s Supreme) Glory
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 166
وَإِن كَانُواْ لَيَقُولُونَ
And indeed they (the pagan Arabs) used to say
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 167
لَوۡ أَنَّ عِندَنَا ذِكۡرٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
If only we have had a Message before us from those (Books) of old
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 168
لَكُنَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ
We would truly have been the Servants of Allah, sincere (and loving)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 169
فَكَفَرُواْ بِهِۦۖ فَسَوۡفَ يَعۡلَمُونَ
But (now that the Quran has come), they (still) reject it: But soon will they know (the penalty)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 170
وَلَقَدۡ سَبَقَتۡ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
And surely, Our Word, already has been given before (this) to Our servants and messengers sent
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 171
إِنَّهُمۡ لَهُمُ ٱلۡمَنصُورُونَ
That they would certainly be made victorious
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 172
وَإِنَّ جُندَنَا لَهُمُ ٱلۡغَٰلِبُونَ
And that Our forces— Surely, they would the be victors
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 173
فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ حِينٖ
So you (O Prophet!) turn away from them for a little while
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 174
وَأَبۡصِرۡهُمۡ فَسَوۡفَ يُبۡصِرُونَ
And watch them (how they will do), and they shall soon see (how you do)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 175
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَ
Do they really want to hurry Our punishment
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 176
فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمۡ فَسَآءَ صَبَاحُ ٱلۡمُنذَرِينَ
Then when it (the punishment) falls into the open space before them; Painful will be the morning for those who were warned (but did not pay attention)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 177
وَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ حِينٖ
So you turn away from them for a little while
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 178
وَأَبۡصِرۡ فَسَوۡفَ يُبۡصِرُونَ
And watch them (how they will do), and they shall soon see (how you do)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 179
سُبۡحَٰنَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ ٱلۡعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honor and Power! (He is free) from the things that they relate (to Him)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 180
وَسَلَٰمٌ عَلَى ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
And Peace (be) on the messengers (of Allah)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 181
وَٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
And all the Praises (and thanks) to Allah, the Lord (and Cherisher) of the Worlds (Rab-Al-'Ala'meen)
Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 182
