حمٓ
Ha Meem
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 1
تَنزِيلُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡحَكِيمِ
the gradual revelations of the Book are from God, the Almighty, the Wise
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 2
إِنَّ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
In the heavens and earth are Signs for the believers
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 3
وَفِي خَلۡقِكُمۡ وَمَا يَبُثُّ مِن دَآبَّةٍ ءَايَٰتٞ لِّقَوۡمٖ يُوقِنُونَ
And in your creation and in the creatures He scattered are Signs for people gifted with inner certainty
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 4
وَٱخۡتِلَٰفِ ٱلَّيۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مِن رِّزۡقٖ فَأَحۡيَا بِهِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِهَا وَتَصۡرِيفِ ٱلرِّيَٰحِ ءَايَٰتٞ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَعۡقِلُونَ
The alternation of night and day, the sustenance God sends down from the sky, using it to revive the earth after its death, and the circulation of the winds are all Signs for people who use their reason
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 5
تِلۡكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱللَّهِ نَتۡلُوهَا عَلَيۡكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّۖ فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثِۭ بَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ وَءَايَٰتِهِۦ يُؤۡمِنُونَ
These are God's verses, We convey them to you, setting forth the Truth.If they deny God and His verses, what message will they then believe
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 6
وَيۡلٞ لِّكُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٖ
How terrible it is to every sinful liar
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 7
يَسۡمَعُ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِ ثُمَّ يُصِرُّ مُسۡتَكۡبِرٗا كَأَن لَّمۡ يَسۡمَعۡهَاۖ فَبَشِّرۡهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٖ
who hears God's revelations being recited to him, yet he persists arrogantly, as if he did not hear them. So give him the news of a painful punishment awaiting him
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 8
وَإِذَا عَلِمَ مِنۡ ءَايَٰتِنَا شَيۡـًٔا ٱتَّخَذَهَا هُزُوًاۚ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٞ مُّهِينٞ
And when he does learn some of Our verses, he ridicules them. Such people will have a humiliating punishment
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 9
مِّن وَرَآئِهِمۡ جَهَنَّمُۖ وَلَا يُغۡنِي عَنۡهُم مَّا كَسَبُواْ شَيۡـٔٗا وَلَا مَا ٱتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَوۡلِيَآءَۖ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ
Hell awaits them. Nothing they have earned will be of any use to them, nor will those they have adopted as protectors instead of God. They will have a great punishment
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 10
هَٰذَا هُدٗىۖ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمۡ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٞ مِّن رِّجۡزٍ أَلِيمٌ
This is true guidance. Those who have rejected the truth of their Lord's revelations will have a punishment of grievous pain
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 11
۞ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلۡبَحۡرَ لِتَجۡرِيَ ٱلۡفُلۡكُ فِيهِ بِأَمۡرِهِۦ وَلِتَبۡتَغُواْ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ
It is God who subjected the sea for you so that ships may sail with His approval and that you may seek His favor, and that you may give Him thanks
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 12
وَسَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ جَمِيعٗا مِّنۡهُۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
And He has subjected to you all that is in the heavens and on the earth; a blessing from Him. There are signs in this for people who reflect
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 13
قُل لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ يَغۡفِرُواْ لِلَّذِينَ لَا يَرۡجُونَ أَيَّامَ ٱللَّهِ لِيَجۡزِيَ قَوۡمَۢا بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ
Tell the believers that they should forgive those who do not anticipate the Days of God as it is He alone who will hold people accountable for what they have earned
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 14
مَنۡ عَمِلَ صَٰلِحٗا فَلِنَفۡسِهِۦۖ وَمَنۡ أَسَآءَ فَعَلَيۡهَاۖ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمۡ تُرۡجَعُونَ
Whoever does good, benefits his own soul; and whoever does evil, harms his soul. Then you will all be returned to your Lord
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 15
وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَا بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَـٰٓءِيلَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَٱلۡحُكۡمَ وَٱلنُّبُوَّةَ وَرَزَقۡنَٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ وَفَضَّلۡنَٰهُمۡ عَلَى ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
We gave the Children of Israel the Book, Wisdom and prophecy. We provided them with good things and preferred them over all people
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 16
وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُم بَيِّنَٰتٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَمۡرِۖ فَمَا ٱخۡتَلَفُوٓاْ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلۡعِلۡمُ بَغۡيَۢا بَيۡنَهُمۡۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقۡضِي بَيۡنَهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَخۡتَلِفُونَ
We gave them clear details of the matter [faith]. Yet, they differed out of rivalry between them, only after knowledge came to them. Your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection regarding their differences
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 17
ثُمَّ جَعَلۡنَٰكَ عَلَىٰ شَرِيعَةٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَمۡرِ فَٱتَّبِعۡهَا وَلَا تَتَّبِعۡ أَهۡوَآءَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ
Then We put you on a pathway of the matter, so follow it, and do not follow the whims and desires of those who do not know
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 18
إِنَّهُمۡ لَن يُغۡنُواْ عَنكَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيۡـٔٗاۚ وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ أَوۡلِيَآءُ بَعۡضٖۖ وَٱللَّهُ وَلِيُّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ
They will not help you in any way if you decide to defy God. The unjust protect each other, while God is the Protector of those who are mindful of Him
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 19
هَٰذَا بَصَـٰٓئِرُ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدٗى وَرَحۡمَةٞ لِّقَوۡمٖ يُوقِنُونَ
This is clear insight for mankind and guidance and mercy for people gifted with inner certainty
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 20
أَمۡ حَسِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱجۡتَرَحُواْ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن نَّجۡعَلَهُمۡ كَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ سَوَآءٗ مَّحۡيَاهُمۡ وَمَمَاتُهُمۡۚ سَآءَ مَا يَحۡكُمُونَ
Or do those who indulge in evil deeds assume that We will regard them the same as those who believe and do good deeds, that they will be alike whether in life or in death? How bad is their judgment
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 21
وَخَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَلِتُجۡزَىٰ كُلُّ نَفۡسِۭ بِمَا كَسَبَتۡ وَهُمۡ لَا يُظۡلَمُونَ
God created the heavens and earth in Truth, so that every soul may be rewarded according to its deeds. They will not be wronged
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 22
أَفَرَءَيۡتَ مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَٰهَهُۥ هَوَىٰهُ وَأَضَلَّهُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ عِلۡمٖ وَخَتَمَ عَلَىٰ سَمۡعِهِۦ وَقَلۡبِهِۦ وَجَعَلَ عَلَىٰ بَصَرِهِۦ غِشَٰوَةٗ فَمَن يَهۡدِيهِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ ٱللَّهِۚ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
Have you considered him who has taken his whims and desires for his god? Then God knowingly allows him to stray, sealing his hearing and his heart, and has placed a veil over his vision. So who can guide him after God? Will you not reflect
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 23
وَقَالُواْ مَا هِيَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا ٱلدُّنۡيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحۡيَا وَمَا يُهۡلِكُنَآ إِلَّا ٱلدَّهۡرُۚ وَمَا لَهُم بِذَٰلِكَ مِنۡ عِلۡمٍۖ إِنۡ هُمۡ إِلَّا يَظُنُّونَ
They say, "There is nothing but our life in this world; we die, we live, and nothing but time destroys us." But they have no knowledge of this; they are only guessing
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 24
وَإِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَايَٰتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٖ مَّا كَانَ حُجَّتَهُمۡ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُواْ ٱئۡتُواْ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ
And when Our clear verses are recited to them, their only argument is to say, "Bring back our forefathers, if you are telling the truth
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 25
قُلِ ٱللَّهُ يُحۡيِيكُمۡ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمۡ ثُمَّ يَجۡمَعُكُمۡ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ لَا رَيۡبَ فِيهِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ
Say, "It is God who gives you life , then causes you to die, and then He gathers you for the Day of Resurrection, about which there is no doubt. But most people do not know
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 26
وَلِلَّهِ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَيَوۡمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يَوۡمَئِذٖ يَخۡسَرُ ٱلۡمُبۡطِلُونَ
To God belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth. On the Day when the Hour takes place, on that Day those who dealt in falsehood will lose
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 27
وَتَرَىٰ كُلَّ أُمَّةٖ جَاثِيَةٗۚ كُلُّ أُمَّةٖ تُدۡعَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ كِتَٰبِهَا ٱلۡيَوۡمَ تُجۡزَوۡنَ مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ
You will see every nation on its knees; every nation summoned to its Book, "Today you are being repaid for what you did
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 28
هَٰذَا كِتَٰبُنَا يَنطِقُ عَلَيۡكُم بِٱلۡحَقِّۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا نَسۡتَنسِخُ مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ
This is Our record, it speaks about you in Truth. We were recording what You have been doing
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 29
فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ فَيُدۡخِلُهُمۡ رَبُّهُمۡ فِي رَحۡمَتِهِۦۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡمُبِينُ
As for those who believed and did good deeds, their Lord will admit them into His mercy. That is the clear triumph
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 30
وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ أَفَلَمۡ تَكُنۡ ءَايَٰتِي تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡكُمۡ فَٱسۡتَكۡبَرۡتُمۡ وَكُنتُمۡ قَوۡمٗا مُّجۡرِمِينَ
But for the unbelievers, "Were My verses not recited to you? But you were an arrogant and dissenting people
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 31
وَإِذَا قِيلَ إِنَّ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقّٞ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ لَا رَيۡبَ فِيهَا قُلۡتُم مَّا نَدۡرِي مَا ٱلسَّاعَةُ إِن نَّظُنُّ إِلَّا ظَنّٗا وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمُسۡتَيۡقِنِينَ
And when you were told, 'God's promise is true and there is no doubt about the Hour,' you said, 'We do not know what is the Hour. We're assuming that these are only speculations, and we're by no means certain
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 32
وَبَدَا لَهُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا عَمِلُواْ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
The evil consequences of what they did will become evident to them, and the very thing they used to ridicule will haunt them
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 33
وَقِيلَ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ نَنسَىٰكُمۡ كَمَا نَسِيتُمۡ لِقَآءَ يَوۡمِكُمۡ هَٰذَا وَمَأۡوَىٰكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّـٰصِرِينَ
They were told, "Today We will ignore you as you ignored the encounter of this Day. The Fire will be your refuge, and you will have no helpers
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 34
ذَٰلِكُم بِأَنَّكُمُ ٱتَّخَذۡتُمۡ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ هُزُوٗا وَغَرَّتۡكُمُ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَاۚ فَٱلۡيَوۡمَ لَا يُخۡرَجُونَ مِنۡهَا وَلَا هُمۡ يُسۡتَعۡتَبُونَ
That is because you took the verses of God in ridicule, and the worldly life enticed you." Therefore, today they will not get out of it and they will no longer have the opportunity to repent
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 35
فَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَرَبِّ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
All praise be to God, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth, Lord of the worlds
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 36
وَلَهُ ٱلۡكِبۡرِيَآءُ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ
His alone is all majestic greatness within the heavens and the earth. He is the Almighty, the Wise
Surah Al-Jathiya, Verse 37
