حمٓ
Ha Meem
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 1
وَٱلۡكِتَٰبِ ٱلۡمُبِينِ
by the Book that makes things clear
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 2
إِنَّآ أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ فِي لَيۡلَةٖ مُّبَٰرَكَةٍۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنذِرِينَ
We have revealed it on a Blessed Night; We have been warning
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 3
فِيهَا يُفۡرَقُ كُلُّ أَمۡرٍ حَكِيمٍ
On that night every matter of wisdom is made distinct
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 4
أَمۡرٗا مِّنۡ عِندِنَآۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرۡسِلِينَ
A decree from Us. We have been sending messages
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 5
رَحۡمَةٗ مِّن رَّبِّكَۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
as mercy from your Lord. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 6
رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَآۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
The Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and everything between them, if you only can grasp this with certainty
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 7
لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحۡيِۦ وَيُمِيتُۖ رَبُّكُمۡ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
There is no god but Him; He gives life and causes death. [He is] your Sustainer and the Sustainer of your forefathers from the beginning
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 8
بَلۡ هُمۡ فِي شَكّٖ يَلۡعَبُونَ
Yet they who lack certainty toy with their doubts
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 9
فَٱرۡتَقِبۡ يَوۡمَ تَأۡتِي ٱلسَّمَآءُ بِدُخَانٖ مُّبِينٖ
So watch out for the Day when the sky will bring visible smoke
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 10
يَغۡشَى ٱلنَّاسَۖ هَٰذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ
enveloping all people; "This is a painful punishment
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 11
رَّبَّنَا ٱكۡشِفۡ عَنَّا ٱلۡعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤۡمِنُونَ
[Then they will say], "Our Lord, lift the punishment from us, we now believe
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 12
أَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ وَقَدۡ جَآءَهُمۡ رَسُولٞ مُّبِينٞ
But how can this sudden remembrance benefit them? When a messenger explaining things clearly has already come to them
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 13
ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوۡاْ عَنۡهُ وَقَالُواْ مُعَلَّمٞ مَّجۡنُونٌ
and they turned away from him saying, "He is tutored but possessed
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 14
إِنَّا كَاشِفُواْ ٱلۡعَذَابِ قَلِيلًاۚ إِنَّكُمۡ عَآئِدُونَ
We will postpone the punishment for a while. But you will eventually return to us
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 15
يَوۡمَ نَبۡطِشُ ٱلۡبَطۡشَةَ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰٓ إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَ
The Day when We will strike with the greatest assault, We will take retribution
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 16
۞وَلَقَدۡ فَتَنَّا قَبۡلَهُمۡ قَوۡمَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَجَآءَهُمۡ رَسُولٞ كَرِيمٌ
We had already tested Pharaoh's people before them, when a noble messenger came to them
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 17
أَنۡ أَدُّوٓاْ إِلَيَّ عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِۖ إِنِّي لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٞ
[saying], "Hand over to me the servants of God. I am a trustworthy Messenger to you
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 18
وَأَن لَّا تَعۡلُواْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِۖ إِنِّيٓ ءَاتِيكُم بِسُلۡطَٰنٖ مُّبِينٖ
Never be arrogant with God. I come to you with clear authority
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 19
وَإِنِّي عُذۡتُ بِرَبِّي وَرَبِّكُمۡ أَن تَرۡجُمُونِ
I have sought refuge with my Lord and your Lord, against your condemnation
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 20
وَإِن لَّمۡ تُؤۡمِنُواْ لِي فَٱعۡتَزِلُونِ
If you don't believe me, then [at least] leave me alone
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 21
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوۡمٞ مُّجۡرِمُونَ
He then called out to his Lord that these were evil people
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 22
فَأَسۡرِ بِعِبَادِي لَيۡلًا إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
[God said], "Then set out with My servants by night. You will be pursued
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 23
وَٱتۡرُكِ ٱلۡبَحۡرَ رَهۡوًاۖ إِنَّهُمۡ جُندٞ مُّغۡرَقُونَ
Cross the sea quickly and leave it as is. They are an army to be drowned
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 24
كَمۡ تَرَكُواْ مِن جَنَّـٰتٖ وَعُيُونٖ
How many gardens and fountains did they leave behind
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 25
وَزُرُوعٖ وَمَقَامٖ كَرِيمٖ
And crops and noble residences
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 26
وَنَعۡمَةٖ كَانُواْ فِيهَا فَٰكِهِينَ
and that life of ease that they used to enjoy
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 27
كَذَٰلِكَۖ وَأَوۡرَثۡنَٰهَا قَوۡمًا ءَاخَرِينَ
So it was; Yet We passed it on to other people to inherit
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 28
فَمَا بَكَتۡ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَمَا كَانُواْ مُنظَرِينَ
Neither heaven nor earth wept for them, nor were they given a reprieve
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 29
وَلَقَدۡ نَجَّيۡنَا بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَـٰٓءِيلَ مِنَ ٱلۡعَذَابِ ٱلۡمُهِينِ
And We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating persecution
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 30
مِن فِرۡعَوۡنَۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَالِيٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡمُسۡرِفِينَ
from Pharaoh. He was an arrogant transgressor
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 31
وَلَقَدِ ٱخۡتَرۡنَٰهُمۡ عَلَىٰ عِلۡمٍ عَلَى ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
And We chose them knowingly over all people
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 32
وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ مَا فِيهِ بَلَـٰٓؤٞاْ مُّبِينٌ
and We gave them many revelations, that were an obvious trial
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 33
إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَيَقُولُونَ
Yet these people say
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 34
إِنۡ هِيَ إِلَّا مَوۡتَتُنَا ٱلۡأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمُنشَرِينَ
There is nothing but our one death, and we will not be resurrected
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 35
فَأۡتُواْ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ
Bring back our forefathers, if you are telling the truth
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 36
أَهُمۡ خَيۡرٌ أَمۡ قَوۡمُ تُبَّعٖ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَٰهُمۡۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ مُجۡرِمِينَ
Are they better than the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] they were among those who rejected our messages and have severed all relations to God
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 37
وَمَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا لَٰعِبِينَ
And We did not create the heavens and earth and everything between them to play a game
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 38
مَا خَلَقۡنَٰهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ
We created them with the Truth [for a meaningful purpose], but most of them do not know
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 39
إِنَّ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ مِيقَٰتُهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ
The Day of Distinction is the appointed time for all of them
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 40
يَوۡمَ لَا يُغۡنِي مَوۡلًى عَن مَّوۡلٗى شَيۡـٔٗا وَلَا هُمۡ يُنصَرُونَ
The Day when a friend will not be of any use to his friend, nor will they be helped
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 41
إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ ٱللَّهُۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
except those on whom God has mercy. He is the Almighty, the Merciful-to-all
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 42
إِنَّ شَجَرَتَ ٱلزَّقُّومِ
The tree of Zaqqum
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 43
طَعَامُ ٱلۡأَثِيمِ
is food for the sinner
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 44
كَٱلۡمُهۡلِ يَغۡلِي فِي ٱلۡبُطُونِ
It boils inside bellies like boiling oil
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 45
كَغَلۡيِ ٱلۡحَمِيمِ
like the boiling of seething water
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 46
خُذُوهُ فَٱعۡتِلُوهُ إِلَىٰ سَوَآءِ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ
Seize him and drag him into the midst of Hell
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 47
ثُمَّ صُبُّواْ فَوۡقَ رَأۡسِهِۦ مِنۡ عَذَابِ ٱلۡحَمِيمِ
then pour scalding water over his head as punishment
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 48
ذُقۡ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡكَرِيمُ
Taste it, you are the mighty one, the noble
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 49
إِنَّ هَٰذَا مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَمۡتَرُونَ
this is what you used to dispute
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 50
إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِي مَقَامٍ أَمِينٖ
But those who were mindful of God will be in a safe place
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 51
فِي جَنَّـٰتٖ وَعُيُونٖ
in the midst of Gardens and springs
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 52
يَلۡبَسُونَ مِن سُندُسٖ وَإِسۡتَبۡرَقٖ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ
wearing fine silk and brocade, facing each other
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 53
كَذَٰلِكَ وَزَوَّجۡنَٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٖ
So it will be. And We shall pair them with Hoor Ein
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 54
يَدۡعُونَ فِيهَا بِكُلِّ فَٰكِهَةٍ ءَامِنِينَ
Safe and secure, they will call there for every kind of fruit
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 55
لَا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا ٱلۡمَوۡتَ إِلَّا ٱلۡمَوۡتَةَ ٱلۡأُولَىٰۖ وَوَقَىٰهُمۡ عَذَابَ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ
Except the first death, they will not taste death there. He will protect them from the punishment of Hell
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 56
فَضۡلٗا مِّن رَّبِّكَۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡعَظِيمُ
a grace from your Lord. That is the supreme triumph
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 57
فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرۡنَٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
We have made this Qur'an easy to understand in your own language that they might remember
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 58
فَٱرۡتَقِبۡ إِنَّهُم مُّرۡتَقِبُونَ
So wait and watch; they are also on their watch
Surah Ad-Dukhan, Verse 59
