Surah Al-Mulk - English Translation by Hamid S Aziz
تَبَٰرَكَ ٱلَّذِي بِيَدِهِ ٱلۡمُلۡكُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٌ
Blessed is He in Whose hand is the Sovereignty, and He has power to do all things
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 1
ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلۡمَوۡتَ وَٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ لِيَبۡلُوَكُمۡ أَيُّكُمۡ أَحۡسَنُ عَمَلٗاۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡغَفُورُ
Who created death and life that He may try you as to which of you is best in conduct; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 2
ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبۡعَ سَمَٰوَٰتٖ طِبَاقٗاۖ مَّا تَرَىٰ فِي خَلۡقِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ مِن تَفَٰوُتٖۖ فَٱرۡجِعِ ٱلۡبَصَرَ هَلۡ تَرَىٰ مِن فُطُورٖ
Who created the seven heavens one above the other in harmony; you see no incongruity in the creation of the Beneficent Allah; then look again, can you see any flaw
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 3
ثُمَّ ٱرۡجِعِ ٱلۡبَصَرَ كَرَّتَيۡنِ يَنقَلِبۡ إِلَيۡكَ ٱلۡبَصَرُ خَاسِئٗا وَهُوَ حَسِيرٞ
Then turn back your eye again and again; your sight will return unto you weak and fatigued
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 4
وَلَقَدۡ زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا بِمَصَٰبِيحَ وَجَعَلۡنَٰهَا رُجُومٗا لِّلشَّيَٰطِينِۖ وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا لَهُمۡ عَذَابَ ٱلسَّعِيرِ
And certainly We have adorned this lower heaven with lamps and We have made these missiles for Satan, and We have prepared for them the chastisement of burning
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 5
وَلِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِرَبِّهِمۡ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَۖ وَبِئۡسَ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ
And for those who disbelieve in their Lord is the punishment of hell, and evil is the destination
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 6
إِذَآ أُلۡقُواْ فِيهَا سَمِعُواْ لَهَا شَهِيقٗا وَهِيَ تَفُورُ
When they shall be cast therein, they shall hear a loud gasp as it swells
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 7
تَكَادُ تَمَيَّزُ مِنَ ٱلۡغَيۡظِۖ كُلَّمَآ أُلۡقِيَ فِيهَا فَوۡجٞ سَأَلَهُمۡ خَزَنَتُهَآ أَلَمۡ يَأۡتِكُمۡ نَذِيرٞ
Almost bursting for fury. Whenever a group is cast into it, its keeper shall ask them, "Did there not come to you a Warner
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 8
قَالُواْ بَلَىٰ قَدۡ جَآءَنَا نَذِيرٞ فَكَذَّبۡنَا وَقُلۡنَا مَا نَزَّلَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَيۡءٍ إِنۡ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَٰلٖ كَبِيرٖ
They shall say, "Yea! Indeed there came to us a Warner, but we rejected him and said, ´Allah has not revealed anything, you are only suffering from delusions.´
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 9
وَقَالُواْ لَوۡ كُنَّا نَسۡمَعُ أَوۡ نَعۡقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِيٓ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ
And they shall say, "Had we but listened or pondered (used our reason or intelligence), we should not have been among the inmates of the Blazing Fire
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 10
فَٱعۡتَرَفُواْ بِذَنۢبِهِمۡ فَسُحۡقٗا لِّأَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ
So they shall acknowledge their sins, but far will be forgiveness from the inmates of the Blazing Fire
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 11
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَخۡشَوۡنَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلۡغَيۡبِ لَهُم مَّغۡفِرَةٞ وَأَجۡرٞ كَبِيرٞ
Lo! Those who fear their Lord in secret (or unseen), they shall surely have forgiveness and a great reward
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 12
وَأَسِرُّواْ قَوۡلَكُمۡ أَوِ ٱجۡهَرُواْ بِهِۦٓۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ
And whether you conceal your opinion or express it; surely He is Aware of what is in the heart
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 13
أَلَا يَعۡلَمُ مَنۡ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ ٱللَّطِيفُ ٱلۡخَبِيرُ
Should He not know, He Who created? And He is the Knower of the Subtleties, the Aware
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 14
هُوَ ٱلَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ ذَلُولٗا فَٱمۡشُواْ فِي مَنَاكِبِهَا وَكُلُواْ مِن رِّزۡقِهِۦۖ وَإِلَيۡهِ ٱلنُّشُورُ
He it is Who made the earth smooth (manageable) for you, therefore go about in the spacious paths thereof, and eat of His provisions, and to Him is the Resurrection after death
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 15
ءَأَمِنتُم مَّن فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ أَن يَخۡسِفَ بِكُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَمُورُ
Have you taken security from Him Who is in heaven that He will not make the earth swallow you when it is shaken (convulsed)
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 16
أَمۡ أَمِنتُم مَّن فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ أَن يُرۡسِلَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ حَاصِبٗاۖ فَسَتَعۡلَمُونَ كَيۡفَ نَذِيرِ
Or have you taken security from Him Who is in heaven that He will not send down upon you a hurricane so that you shall know how terrible was My warning
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 17
وَلَقَدۡ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ
And verily those before them rejected the truth, then how terrible was My wrath
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 18
أَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ إِلَى ٱلطَّيۡرِ فَوۡقَهُمۡ صَـٰٓفَّـٰتٖ وَيَقۡبِضۡنَۚ مَا يُمۡسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُۚ إِنَّهُۥ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءِۭ بَصِيرٌ
Have they not seen the birds above them expanding (their wings) and contracting (them)? What is it that withholds them save the Beneficent? Lo! He is Seer of all things
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 19
أَمَّنۡ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِي هُوَ جُندٞ لَّكُمۡ يَنصُرُكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِۚ إِنِ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ إِلَّا فِي غُرُورٍ
Or who is it that will be an army to assist you besides the Beneficent? The unbelievers are in naught but delusion
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 20
أَمَّنۡ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِي يَرۡزُقُكُمۡ إِنۡ أَمۡسَكَ رِزۡقَهُۥۚ بَل لَّجُّواْ فِي عُتُوّٖ وَنُفُورٍ
Or who is it that will provide you if He should withhold His sustenance? Nay! They persist in disdain and aversion (from truth)
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 21
أَفَمَن يَمۡشِي مُكِبًّا عَلَىٰ وَجۡهِهِۦٓ أَهۡدَىٰٓ أَمَّن يَمۡشِي سَوِيًّا عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ
What! Is he who goes prone upon his face better guided or he who walks upright upon a Straight Way
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 22
قُلۡ هُوَ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنشَأَكُمۡ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرَ وَٱلۡأَفۡـِٔدَةَۚ قَلِيلٗا مَّا تَشۡكُرُونَ
Say, "He it is Who brought you into being and made for you the faculties of hearing and seeing and heart: little is it that you give thanks
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 23
قُلۡ هُوَ ٱلَّذِي ذَرَأَكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَإِلَيۡهِ تُحۡشَرُونَ
Say, "He it is Who multiplied you in the earth and to Him you shall be gathered
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 24
وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلۡوَعۡدُ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ
And they say, "When shall this promise be (fulfilled) if you are truthful
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 25
قُلۡ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡعِلۡمُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَإِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٞ
Say, " The knowledge thereof is only with Allah and I am only a plain Warner
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 26
فَلَمَّا رَأَوۡهُ زُلۡفَةٗ سِيٓـَٔتۡ وُجُوهُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَقِيلَ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَدَّعُونَ
But when they shall see it nigh, the faces of those who disbelieve shall be sorry, and it shall be said, "This is that which you used to call for
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 27
قُلۡ أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ إِنۡ أَهۡلَكَنِيَ ٱللَّهُ وَمَن مَّعِيَ أَوۡ رَحِمَنَا فَمَن يُجِيرُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ مِنۡ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٖ
Say (O Muhammad), "Have you considered if Allah should cause me and those with me to be destroyed or has mercy on us, still, who will protect the disbelievers from a painful doom
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 28
قُلۡ هُوَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ وَعَلَيۡهِ تَوَكَّلۡنَاۖ فَسَتَعۡلَمُونَ مَنۡ هُوَ فِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٖ
Say, "He is the Beneficent. We believe in Him and in Him do we put our trust. And you will come to know who it is that is in error manifest
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 29
قُلۡ أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ إِنۡ أَصۡبَحَ مَآؤُكُمۡ غَوۡرٗا فَمَن يَأۡتِيكُم بِمَآءٖ مَّعِينِۭ
Say, "Have you considered if all your water should some morning be lost down into the earth, who is it then that will supply you clear flowing water
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 30
