Surah Al-Mulk - English Translation by The Monotheist Group Edition
تَبَٰرَكَ ٱلَّذِي بِيَدِهِ ٱلۡمُلۡكُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٌ
Most exalted is the One in whose hands is all sovereignty, and He is capable of all things
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 1
ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلۡمَوۡتَ وَٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ لِيَبۡلُوَكُمۡ أَيُّكُمۡ أَحۡسَنُ عَمَلٗاۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡغَفُورُ
The One who has created death and life, that He may test you, which of you will do better works? He is the Noble, the Forgiving
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 2
ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبۡعَ سَمَٰوَٰتٖ طِبَاقٗاۖ مَّا تَرَىٰ فِي خَلۡقِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ مِن تَفَٰوُتٖۖ فَٱرۡجِعِ ٱلۡبَصَرَ هَلۡ تَرَىٰ مِن فُطُورٖ
He created seven heavens in layers. You do not see any imperfection in the creation by the Almighty. Keep looking; do you see any flaw
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 3
ثُمَّ ٱرۡجِعِ ٱلۡبَصَرَ كَرَّتَيۡنِ يَنقَلِبۡ إِلَيۡكَ ٱلۡبَصَرُ خَاسِئٗا وَهُوَ حَسِيرٞ
Then look again twice; your eyes will come back humiliated and tired
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 4
وَلَقَدۡ زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا بِمَصَٰبِيحَ وَجَعَلۡنَٰهَا رُجُومٗا لِّلشَّيَٰطِينِۖ وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا لَهُمۡ عَذَابَ ٱلسَّعِيرِ
And We have adorned the lower heaven with lamps, and We made it with projectiles against the devils; and We prepared for them the retribution of the blazing Fire
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 5
وَلِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِرَبِّهِمۡ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَۖ وَبِئۡسَ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ
And for those who rejected their Lord will be the retribution of Hell. What a miserable destiny
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 6
إِذَآ أُلۡقُواْ فِيهَا سَمِعُواْ لَهَا شَهِيقٗا وَهِيَ تَفُورُ
When they are cast therein, they hear its furor as it boils
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 7
تَكَادُ تَمَيَّزُ مِنَ ٱلۡغَيۡظِۖ كُلَّمَآ أُلۡقِيَ فِيهَا فَوۡجٞ سَأَلَهُمۡ خَزَنَتُهَآ أَلَمۡ يَأۡتِكُمۡ نَذِيرٞ
It almost explodes from rage. Whenever a group is thrown therein, its keepers would ask them: "Did you not receive a warner
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 8
قَالُواْ بَلَىٰ قَدۡ جَآءَنَا نَذِيرٞ فَكَذَّبۡنَا وَقُلۡنَا مَا نَزَّلَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَيۡءٍ إِنۡ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَٰلٖ كَبِيرٖ
They said: "Yes indeed; a warner did come to us, but we disbelieved and said: God did not reveal anything, you are being led astray
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 9
وَقَالُواْ لَوۡ كُنَّا نَسۡمَعُ أَوۡ نَعۡقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِيٓ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ
And they said: "If we had listened or understood, we would not be among the dwellers of the blazing Fire
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 10
فَٱعۡتَرَفُواْ بِذَنۢبِهِمۡ فَسُحۡقٗا لِّأَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ
Thus, they confessed their sins. So away with the dwellers of the blazing Fire
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 11
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَخۡشَوۡنَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلۡغَيۡبِ لَهُم مَّغۡفِرَةٞ وَأَجۡرٞ كَبِيرٞ
As for those who are concerned towards their Lord while unseen, they have attained forgiveness and a great reward
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 12
وَأَسِرُّواْ قَوۡلَكُمۡ أَوِ ٱجۡهَرُواْ بِهِۦٓۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ
And whether you keep your utterances secret, or declare them, He is fully aware of what is in the chests
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 13
أَلَا يَعۡلَمُ مَنۡ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ ٱللَّطِيفُ ٱلۡخَبِيرُ
Should He not know what He created? And He is the Sublime, the Expert
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 14
هُوَ ٱلَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ ذَلُولٗا فَٱمۡشُواْ فِي مَنَاكِبِهَا وَكُلُواْ مِن رِّزۡقِهِۦۖ وَإِلَيۡهِ ٱلنُّشُورُ
He is the One who made the earth subservient for you. So roam its paths, and eat from His provisions; and to Him is the final summoning
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 15
ءَأَمِنتُم مَّن فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ أَن يَخۡسِفَ بِكُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَمُورُ
Are you secure that the One in the heaven will not cause the earth to swallow you when it shakes
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 16
أَمۡ أَمِنتُم مَّن فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ أَن يُرۡسِلَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ حَاصِبٗاۖ فَسَتَعۡلَمُونَ كَيۡفَ نَذِيرِ
Or are you secure that the One in the heaven will not send upon you a violent storm? Then you will know the value of the warning
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 17
وَلَقَدۡ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ
And those before them have disbelieved; so how terrible was My requital
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 18
أَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ إِلَى ٱلطَّيۡرِ فَوۡقَهُمۡ صَـٰٓفَّـٰتٖ وَيَقۡبِضۡنَۚ مَا يُمۡسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُۚ إِنَّهُۥ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءِۭ بَصِيرٌ
Have they not looked to the birds lined-up together above them, and they contract? It is the Almighty who holds them. He is Seer of all things
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 19
أَمَّنۡ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِي هُوَ جُندٞ لَّكُمۡ يَنصُرُكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِۚ إِنِ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ إِلَّا فِي غُرُورٍ
Where is this army of yours to grant you victory without the Almighty? Indeed, the disbelievers are deceived
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 20
أَمَّنۡ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِي يَرۡزُقُكُمۡ إِنۡ أَمۡسَكَ رِزۡقَهُۥۚ بَل لَّجُّواْ فِي عُتُوّٖ وَنُفُورٍ
Where is this who can give you provisions if He holds back His provisions? Indeed, they have plunged deep into transgression and aversion
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 21
أَفَمَن يَمۡشِي مُكِبًّا عَلَىٰ وَجۡهِهِۦٓ أَهۡدَىٰٓ أَمَّن يَمۡشِي سَوِيًّا عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ
Is one who walks while his face is slumped better guided, or one who walks straight on the right path
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 22
قُلۡ هُوَ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنشَأَكُمۡ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرَ وَٱلۡأَفۡـِٔدَةَۚ قَلِيلٗا مَّا تَشۡكُرُونَ
Say: "He is the One who initiated you, and made for you the hearing, the eyes, and the hearts. Little do you give thanks
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 23
قُلۡ هُوَ ٱلَّذِي ذَرَأَكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَإِلَيۡهِ تُحۡشَرُونَ
Say: "He is the One who placed you on the earth, and to Him you will be gathered
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 24
وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلۡوَعۡدُ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ
And they say: "When will this promise come to pass, if you are being truthful
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 25
قُلۡ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡعِلۡمُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَإِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٞ
Say: "The knowledge is with God, and I am but a clear warner
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 26
فَلَمَّا رَأَوۡهُ زُلۡفَةٗ سِيٓـَٔتۡ وُجُوهُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَقِيلَ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَدَّعُونَ
So when they see it near, the faces of those who rejected will turn miserable, and it will be proclaimed: "This is what you had called for
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 27
قُلۡ أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ إِنۡ أَهۡلَكَنِيَ ٱللَّهُ وَمَن مَّعِيَ أَوۡ رَحِمَنَا فَمَن يُجِيرُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ مِنۡ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٖ
Say: "Do you see? If God annihilates me and those with me, or He bestows mercy upon us, who is there to protect the rejecters from a painful retribution
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 28
قُلۡ هُوَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ وَعَلَيۡهِ تَوَكَّلۡنَاۖ فَسَتَعۡلَمُونَ مَنۡ هُوَ فِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٖ
Say: "He is the Almighty; we believe in Him, and we put our trust in Him. You will come to find out who is clearly astray
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 29
قُلۡ أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ إِنۡ أَصۡبَحَ مَآؤُكُمۡ غَوۡرٗا فَمَن يَأۡتِيكُم بِمَآءٖ مَّعِينِۭ
Say: "What if your water becomes deep underground, who then can provide you with pure water
Surah Al-Mulk, Verse 30
