Surah Al-Munafiqoon - English Translation by Ali Bakhtiari Nejad
إِذَا جَآءَكَ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقُونَ قَالُواْ نَشۡهَدُ إِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُ ٱللَّهِۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ إِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُهُۥ وَٱللَّهُ يَشۡهَدُ إِنَّ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ لَكَٰذِبُونَ
When the hypocrites come to you, they say: we testify that indeed you are God's messenger. While God knows that indeed you are His messenger, and God testifies that the hypocrites are certainly liars
Surah Al-Munafiqoon, Verse 1
ٱتَّخَذُوٓاْ أَيۡمَٰنَهُمۡ جُنَّةٗ فَصَدُّواْ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِۚ إِنَّهُمۡ سَآءَ مَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ
They took their oath as a shield, then obstructed (people) from God's way. Indeed what they were doing is bad
Surah Al-Munafiqoon, Verse 2
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ ءَامَنُواْ ثُمَّ كَفَرُواْ فَطُبِعَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمۡ فَهُمۡ لَا يَفۡقَهُونَ
That is because they believed, then disbelieved, so their hearts were sealed so that they do not understand
Surah Al-Munafiqoon, Verse 3
۞وَإِذَا رَأَيۡتَهُمۡ تُعۡجِبُكَ أَجۡسَامُهُمۡۖ وَإِن يَقُولُواْ تَسۡمَعۡ لِقَوۡلِهِمۡۖ كَأَنَّهُمۡ خُشُبٞ مُّسَنَّدَةٞۖ يَحۡسَبُونَ كُلَّ صَيۡحَةٍ عَلَيۡهِمۡۚ هُمُ ٱلۡعَدُوُّ فَٱحۡذَرۡهُمۡۚ قَٰتَلَهُمُ ٱللَّهُۖ أَنَّىٰ يُؤۡفَكُونَ
And when you see them, their bodies impress you, and if they speak you listen to their speech, as if they are lumbers leaned (against a wall), they think that every noise is against them. They are the enemy, so beware of them. May God destroy them, how are they deviated
Surah Al-Munafiqoon, Verse 4
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمۡ تَعَالَوۡاْ يَسۡتَغۡفِرۡ لَكُمۡ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ لَوَّوۡاْ رُءُوسَهُمۡ وَرَأَيۡتَهُمۡ يَصُدُّونَ وَهُم مُّسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ
And when they are told: come, God's messenger asks forgiveness for you. They turn their heads and you see them turn away in arrogance
Surah Al-Munafiqoon, Verse 5
سَوَآءٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ أَسۡتَغۡفَرۡتَ لَهُمۡ أَمۡ لَمۡ تَسۡتَغۡفِرۡ لَهُمۡ لَن يَغۡفِرَ ٱللَّهُ لَهُمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهۡدِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلۡفَٰسِقِينَ
It is the same for them whether you ask forgiveness for them or you do not ask forgiveness for them. God will never forgive them. Indeed God does not guide the disobedient people
Surah Al-Munafiqoon, Verse 6
هُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ لَا تُنفِقُواْ عَلَىٰ مَنۡ عِندَ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ حَتَّىٰ يَنفَضُّواْۗ وَلِلَّهِ خَزَآئِنُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ لَا يَفۡقَهُونَ
They are those who say: do not spend on those who are with God's messenger until they break up. The treasures of the skies and the earth belong to God, but the hypocrites do not understand
Surah Al-Munafiqoon, Verse 7
يَقُولُونَ لَئِن رَّجَعۡنَآ إِلَى ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ لَيُخۡرِجَنَّ ٱلۡأَعَزُّ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡأَذَلَّۚ وَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُولِهِۦ وَلِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ
They say: if we return to Medina, the more powerful shall drive out the weaker from there. The power (and honor) belongs to God and His messenger and the believers, but the hypocrites do not know
Surah Al-Munafiqoon, Verse 8
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تُلۡهِكُمۡ أَمۡوَٰلُكُمۡ وَلَآ أَوۡلَٰدُكُمۡ عَن ذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِۚ وَمَن يَفۡعَلۡ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡخَٰسِرُونَ
You who believe, your possessions and your children should not distract you from God's remembrance. And anyone who does that, then they are the losers
Surah Al-Munafiqoon, Verse 9
وَأَنفِقُواْ مِن مَّا رَزَقۡنَٰكُم مِّن قَبۡلِ أَن يَأۡتِيَ أَحَدَكُمُ ٱلۡمَوۡتُ فَيَقُولَ رَبِّ لَوۡلَآ أَخَّرۡتَنِيٓ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٖ قَرِيبٖ فَأَصَّدَّقَ وَأَكُن مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
And spend (in God's way) from what We provided you before death comes to one of you and he says: my Master, why did You not postpone me (my death) for a short period, so that I give to charity and be of the righteous
Surah Al-Munafiqoon, Verse 10
وَلَن يُؤَخِّرَ ٱللَّهُ نَفۡسًا إِذَا جَآءَ أَجَلُهَاۚ وَٱللَّهُ خَبِيرُۢ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ
And God will never postpone (the death of) anyone when his time comes. God is well informed of what you do
Surah Al-Munafiqoon, Verse 11
