Surah Al-Munafiqoon - English Translation by Mir Anees Original
إِذَا جَآءَكَ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقُونَ قَالُواْ نَشۡهَدُ إِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُ ٱللَّهِۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ إِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُهُۥ وَٱللَّهُ يَشۡهَدُ إِنَّ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ لَكَٰذِبُونَ
When the hypocrites come to you they say, “We bear witness that you are certainly a messenger of Allah.” And Allah knows that you are certainly His messenger and Allah bears witness that the hypocrites are certainly liars (because they do not mean what they say)
Surah Al-Munafiqoon, Verse 1
ٱتَّخَذُوٓاْ أَيۡمَٰنَهُمۡ جُنَّةٗ فَصَدُّواْ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِۚ إِنَّهُمۡ سَآءَ مَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ
They make their oaths a shelter (and) thus turn away (people) from the way of Allah, evil is that which they do
Surah Al-Munafiqoon, Verse 2
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ ءَامَنُواْ ثُمَّ كَفَرُواْ فَطُبِعَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمۡ فَهُمۡ لَا يَفۡقَهُونَ
That is because they believed then became infidels, so a seal was set on their hearts, therefore they do not understand
Surah Al-Munafiqoon, Verse 3
۞وَإِذَا رَأَيۡتَهُمۡ تُعۡجِبُكَ أَجۡسَامُهُمۡۖ وَإِن يَقُولُواْ تَسۡمَعۡ لِقَوۡلِهِمۡۖ كَأَنَّهُمۡ خُشُبٞ مُّسَنَّدَةٞۖ يَحۡسَبُونَ كُلَّ صَيۡحَةٍ عَلَيۡهِمۡۚ هُمُ ٱلۡعَدُوُّ فَٱحۡذَرۡهُمۡۚ قَٰتَلَهُمُ ٱللَّهُۖ أَنَّىٰ يُؤۡفَكُونَ
And when you see them, their personalities please you and if they speak, you listen to their speech. They are like beams of wood covered with (attractive) garments, they think that every loud cry is against them, they are the enemies, so beware of them. May Allah kill them, how they are turned away (from the truth)! are turned away (from the truth)
Surah Al-Munafiqoon, Verse 4
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمۡ تَعَالَوۡاْ يَسۡتَغۡفِرۡ لَكُمۡ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ لَوَّوۡاْ رُءُوسَهُمۡ وَرَأَيۡتَهُمۡ يَصُدُّونَ وَهُم مُّسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ
And when it is said to them, “Come, the messenger of Allah will seek protective forgiveness for you,” they turn their heads and you see them turning away and they consider themselves great
Surah Al-Munafiqoon, Verse 5
سَوَآءٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ أَسۡتَغۡفَرۡتَ لَهُمۡ أَمۡ لَمۡ تَسۡتَغۡفِرۡ لَهُمۡ لَن يَغۡفِرَ ٱللَّهُ لَهُمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهۡدِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلۡفَٰسِقِينَ
It is equal for them, whether you seek protective forgiveness for them or do not seek protective forgiveness for them, Allah will never forgive them. Allah certainly does not guide the transgressing people
Surah Al-Munafiqoon, Verse 6
هُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ لَا تُنفِقُواْ عَلَىٰ مَنۡ عِندَ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ حَتَّىٰ يَنفَضُّواْۗ وَلِلَّهِ خَزَآئِنُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ لَا يَفۡقَهُونَ
They are the persons who say, “Do not spend on those who are with the messenger of Allah until they leave (him),” though the treasures of the skies and the earth are Allah’s but the hypocrites do not understand
Surah Al-Munafiqoon, Verse 7
يَقُولُونَ لَئِن رَّجَعۡنَآ إِلَى ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ لَيُخۡرِجَنَّ ٱلۡأَعَزُّ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡأَذَلَّۚ وَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُولِهِۦ وَلِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ
They say, “If we return to Madina, the mightier will definitely drive out the weaker,” though might belongs to Allah and His messenger and the believers, but the hypocrites do not know
Surah Al-Munafiqoon, Verse 8
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تُلۡهِكُمۡ أَمۡوَٰلُكُمۡ وَلَآ أَوۡلَٰدُكُمۡ عَن ذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِۚ وَمَن يَفۡعَلۡ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡخَٰسِرُونَ
O you who believe! do not let your wealth and your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah, and whoever does that, then those are the persons at loss
Surah Al-Munafiqoon, Verse 9
وَأَنفِقُواْ مِن مَّا رَزَقۡنَٰكُم مِّن قَبۡلِ أَن يَأۡتِيَ أَحَدَكُمُ ٱلۡمَوۡتُ فَيَقُولَ رَبِّ لَوۡلَآ أَخَّرۡتَنِيٓ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٖ قَرِيبٖ فَأَصَّدَّقَ وَأَكُن مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
And spend from that which We have provided you, before death comes to one of you (and) then he says, “My Fosterer! why do you not postpone (this) for me till a near term so that I could give charity and become one of the righteous?”
Surah Al-Munafiqoon, Verse 10
وَلَن يُؤَخِّرَ ٱللَّهُ نَفۡسًا إِذَا جَآءَ أَجَلُهَاۚ وَٱللَّهُ خَبِيرُۢ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ
And Allah never postpones (death for) any soul when its term comes (to an end), and Allah is informed of that which you do
Surah Al-Munafiqoon, Verse 11
