Surah Al-Adiyat - English Translation by Aisha Bewley
وَٱلۡعَٰدِيَٰتِ ضَبۡحٗا
By the charging horses panting hard
Surah Al-Adiyat, Verse 1
فَٱلۡمُورِيَٰتِ قَدۡحٗا
striking sparks from their flashing hooves
Surah Al-Adiyat, Verse 2
فَٱلۡمُغِيرَٰتِ صُبۡحٗا
raiding at full gallop in the early dawn
Surah Al-Adiyat, Verse 3
فَأَثَرۡنَ بِهِۦ نَقۡعٗا
leaving a trailing dust-cloud in their wake
Surah Al-Adiyat, Verse 4
فَوَسَطۡنَ بِهِۦ جَمۡعًا
cleaving through the middle of the foe
Surah Al-Adiyat, Verse 5
إِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ لِرَبِّهِۦ لَكَنُودٞ
truly man is ungrateful to his Lord
Surah Al-Adiyat, Verse 6
وَإِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ لَشَهِيدٞ
and indeed he bears witness to that
Surah Al-Adiyat, Verse 7
وَإِنَّهُۥ لِحُبِّ ٱلۡخَيۡرِ لَشَدِيدٌ
Truly he is fierce in his love of wealth
Surah Al-Adiyat, Verse 8
۞أَفَلَا يَعۡلَمُ إِذَا بُعۡثِرَ مَا فِي ٱلۡقُبُورِ
Does he not know that when the graves are emptied out
Surah Al-Adiyat, Verse 9
وَحُصِّلَ مَا فِي ٱلصُّدُورِ
and the heart´s contents are brought into the open
Surah Al-Adiyat, Verse 10
إِنَّ رَبَّهُم بِهِمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لَّخَبِيرُۢ
that Day their Lord will certainly be aware of them
Surah Al-Adiyat, Verse 11
