Surah Al-fil - English Translation by Aisha Bewley
أَلَمۡ تَرَ كَيۡفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡفِيلِ
Do you not see what your Lord did with the Companions of the Elephant
Surah Al-fil, Verse 1
أَلَمۡ يَجۡعَلۡ كَيۡدَهُمۡ فِي تَضۡلِيلٖ
Did He not bring all their schemes to nothing
Surah Al-fil, Verse 2
وَأَرۡسَلَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ طَيۡرًا أَبَابِيلَ
unleashing upon them flock after flock of birds
Surah Al-fil, Verse 3
تَرۡمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٖ مِّن سِجِّيلٖ
bombarding them with stones of hard-baked clay
Surah Al-fil, Verse 4
فَجَعَلَهُمۡ كَعَصۡفٖ مَّأۡكُولِۭ
making them like stripped wheat-stalks eaten bare
