Surah Al-fil - English Translation by Dr Laleh Bakhtiar
أَلَمۡ تَرَ كَيۡفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡفِيلِ
Hast thou not considered what thy Lord accomplished with the Companions of the Elephant
Surah Al-fil, Verse 1
أَلَمۡ يَجۡعَلۡ كَيۡدَهُمۡ فِي تَضۡلِيلٖ
Makes He not their cunning leading to nothing
Surah Al-fil, Verse 2
وَأَرۡسَلَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ طَيۡرًا أَبَابِيلَ
And He sent upon them flocks of birds
Surah Al-fil, Verse 3
تَرۡمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٖ مِّن سِجِّيلٖ
throwing at them rocks of baked clay
Surah Al-fil, Verse 4
فَجَعَلَهُمۡ كَعَصۡفٖ مَّأۡكُولِۭ
Then, made He them like ones who are consumed by stalks of husked grain
