Surah Al-Hijr - English Translation by Mufti Taqi Usmani
الٓرۚ تِلۡكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ وَقُرۡءَانٖ مُّبِينٖ
Alif, Lām, Rā. These are verses of the Book and the enlightening Qur’ān
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 1
رُّبَمَا يَوَدُّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوۡ كَانُواْ مُسۡلِمِينَ
On many occasions, the disbelievers will wish that they were Muslims
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 2
ذَرۡهُمۡ يَأۡكُلُواْ وَيَتَمَتَّعُواْ وَيُلۡهِهِمُ ٱلۡأَمَلُۖ فَسَوۡفَ يَعۡلَمُونَ
Let them eat and enjoy, and let (their) fancy make them neglectful, for they shall soon come to know (their ultimate end)
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 3
وَمَآ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مِن قَرۡيَةٍ إِلَّا وَلَهَا كِتَابٞ مَّعۡلُومٞ
We did not destroy any town without having a pre-determined time for it
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 4
مَّا تَسۡبِقُ مِنۡ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسۡتَـٔۡخِرُونَ
No people can precede their appointed time, nor can they exceed it
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 5
وَقَالُواْ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِي نُزِّلَ عَلَيۡهِ ٱلذِّكۡرُ إِنَّكَ لَمَجۡنُونٞ
They say, “O you to whom the Dhikr (the Qur’ān) has been revealed, you are surely insane
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 6
لَّوۡمَا تَأۡتِينَا بِٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
Why do you not bring the angels to us, if you are one of the truthful?”
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 7
مَا نُنَزِّلُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوٓاْ إِذٗا مُّنظَرِينَ
We do not send down the angels except with truth, and then they shall be given no respite
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 8
إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ
We, Ourselves, have sent down the Dhikr (the Qur’ān), and We are there to protect it
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 9
وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ فِي شِيَعِ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
We did send the messengers before you among the groups of earlier peoples
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 10
وَمَا يَأۡتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
No messenger came to them but they used to mock at him
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 11
كَذَٰلِكَ نَسۡلُكُهُۥ فِي قُلُوبِ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
Likewise, We make it (i.e. disbelief) enter into the hearts of the sinners
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 12
لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِهِۦ وَقَدۡ خَلَتۡ سُنَّةُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
(whereby) they do not believe in it (the Qur’ān), and this has been the way of earlier people
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 13
وَلَوۡ فَتَحۡنَا عَلَيۡهِم بَابٗا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَظَلُّواْ فِيهِ يَعۡرُجُونَ
Even if We open a gate in the sky and they keep ascending through it
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 14
لَقَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتۡ أَبۡصَٰرُنَا بَلۡ نَحۡنُ قَوۡمٞ مَّسۡحُورُونَ
still they will say, “In fact our eyes have been deluded; rather we are enchanted people
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 15
وَلَقَدۡ جَعَلۡنَا فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ بُرُوجٗا وَزَيَّنَّـٰهَا لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ
We have created stellar formations in the sky and have beautified them for onlookers
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 16
وَحَفِظۡنَٰهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيۡطَٰنٖ رَّجِيمٍ
and have protected them from every outcast devil
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 17
إِلَّا مَنِ ٱسۡتَرَقَ ٱلسَّمۡعَ فَأَتۡبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٞ مُّبِينٞ
but the one who tries to eavesdrop is chased by a clearly visible flame
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 18
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ مَدَدۡنَٰهَا وَأَلۡقَيۡنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِيَ وَأَنۢبَتۡنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ مَّوۡزُونٖ
As for the earth, We have stretched it out and placed on it firm mountains, and We have caused to grow in it everything well-balanced
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 19
وَجَعَلۡنَا لَكُمۡ فِيهَا مَعَٰيِشَ وَمَن لَّسۡتُمۡ لَهُۥ بِرَٰزِقِينَ
and created in it sources of sustenance for you and those (creatures) for whom you are not the sustainers
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 20
وَإِن مِّن شَيۡءٍ إِلَّا عِندَنَا خَزَآئِنُهُۥ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِقَدَرٖ مَّعۡلُومٖ
We have treasures of every thing, but We send it down only in a determined quantity
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 21
وَأَرۡسَلۡنَا ٱلرِّيَٰحَ لَوَٰقِحَ فَأَنزَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ فَأَسۡقَيۡنَٰكُمُوهُ وَمَآ أَنتُمۡ لَهُۥ بِخَٰزِنِينَ
And We sent forth winds carrying the clouds, then sent down water from the sky and gave it to you to drink, and you are not able to store it
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 22
وَإِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ نُحۡيِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَنَحۡنُ ٱلۡوَٰرِثُونَ
It is indeed We, and only We, who give life and bring death, and We are the ultimate inheritor (of everything)
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 23
وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡنَا ٱلۡمُسۡتَقۡدِمِينَ مِنكُمۡ وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡنَا ٱلۡمُسۡتَـٔۡخِرِينَ
We know those of you who went ahead, and We know those who remained late
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 24
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَحۡشُرُهُمۡۚ إِنَّهُۥ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمٞ
Surely, your Lord will gather all of them together. Indeed He is All-Wise, All-Knowing
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 25
وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مِن صَلۡصَٰلٖ مِّنۡ حَمَإٖ مَّسۡنُونٖ
Indeed We created man from a ringing clay made of decayed mud
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 26
وَٱلۡجَآنَّ خَلَقۡنَٰهُ مِن قَبۡلُ مِن نَّارِ ٱلسَّمُومِ
As for the Jānn (the first Jinn), We had created him earlier from the fire of the scorching wind
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 27
وَإِذۡ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ إِنِّي خَٰلِقُۢ بَشَرٗا مِّن صَلۡصَٰلٖ مِّنۡ حَمَإٖ مَّسۡنُونٖ
Recall when your Lord said to the angels, “I am going to create a human being from a ringing clay made of decayed mud
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 28
فَإِذَا سَوَّيۡتُهُۥ وَنَفَخۡتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِي فَقَعُواْ لَهُۥ سَٰجِدِينَ
When I form him perfect, and blow in him of My spirit, then you must fall down before him in prostration.”
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 29
فَسَجَدَ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعُونَ
So the angels prostrated themselves, all together
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 30
إِلَّآ إِبۡلِيسَ أَبَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ
except Iblīs (Satan). He refused to join those who prostrated
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 31
قَالَ يَـٰٓإِبۡلِيسُ مَا لَكَ أَلَّا تَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ
He (Allah) said, “O Iblīs, what is the matter with you that you did not join those who prostrated?”
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 32
قَالَ لَمۡ أَكُن لِّأَسۡجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقۡتَهُۥ مِن صَلۡصَٰلٖ مِّنۡ حَمَإٖ مَّسۡنُونٖ
He said, “I am not such that I should prostrate myself before a mortal whom You have created from a ringing clay made of decayed mud.”
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 33
قَالَ فَٱخۡرُجۡ مِنۡهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمٞ
He said, “Then, get out of here, for you are an outcast
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 34
وَإِنَّ عَلَيۡكَ ٱللَّعۡنَةَ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ
and upon you is the curse up to the Day of Judgment.”
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 35
قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرۡنِيٓ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ يُبۡعَثُونَ
He said, “My Lord, then give me respite up to the day they (the dead) shall be raised.”
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 36
قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُنظَرِينَ
He (Allah) said, “Well, respite is given to you
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 37
إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡوَقۡتِ ٱلۡمَعۡلُومِ
till the day of the Appointed Time.”
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 38
قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَغۡوَيۡتَنِي لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَأُغۡوِيَنَّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ
He said, “My Lord, since You made me go astray, I swear that I shall beautify for them (evils) on the earth, and shall lead all of them astray
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 39
إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنۡهُمُ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ
except those of Your servants from among them who are chosen (by You).”
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 40
قَالَ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ عَلَيَّ مُسۡتَقِيمٌ
He (Allah) said, “This is the straight path leading to Me (that a person is chosen by Me through his good deeds)
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 41
إِنَّ عِبَادِي لَيۡسَ لَكَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ سُلۡطَٰنٌ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡغَاوِينَ
My servants are such that you have no power over them except those of the deviators who will follow you
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 42
وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوۡعِدُهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ
And Jahannam (Hell) is the promised place for them all
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 43
لَهَا سَبۡعَةُ أَبۡوَٰبٖ لِّكُلِّ بَابٖ مِّنۡهُمۡ جُزۡءٞ مَّقۡسُومٌ
It has seven gates. For each gate there is a group apportioned from them.”
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 44
إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّـٰتٖ وَعُيُونٍ
Surely, the God-fearing will be in gardens and streams
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 45
ٱدۡخُلُوهَا بِسَلَٰمٍ ءَامِنِينَ
“Enter here in peace, free of fear.”
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 46
وَنَزَعۡنَا مَا فِي صُدُورِهِم مِّنۡ غِلٍّ إِخۡوَٰنًا عَلَىٰ سُرُرٖ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ
We shall have removed whatever grudge they had in their hearts, (thus making them) brothers, sitting on couches, face to face
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 47
لَا يَمَسُّهُمۡ فِيهَا نَصَبٞ وَمَا هُم مِّنۡهَا بِمُخۡرَجِينَ
No weariness shall touch them nor will they be expelled from there
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 48
۞نَبِّئۡ عِبَادِيٓ أَنِّيٓ أَنَا ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Tell My servants that I am the Most-Forgiving, the Very-Merciful
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 49
وَأَنَّ عَذَابِي هُوَ ٱلۡعَذَابُ ٱلۡأَلِيمُ
and that My punishment is the painful punishment
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 50
وَنَبِّئۡهُمۡ عَن ضَيۡفِ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ
and tell them about the guests of Ibrāhīm
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 51
إِذۡ دَخَلُواْ عَلَيۡهِ فَقَالُواْ سَلَٰمٗا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمۡ وَجِلُونَ
When they visited him, they greeted him with Salām (peace on you). He said, “We are scared of you.”
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 52
قَالُواْ لَا تَوۡجَلۡ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَٰمٍ عَلِيمٖ
They said, “Do not be scared. We give you good news of a boy who will be knowledgeable.”
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 53
قَالَ أَبَشَّرۡتُمُونِي عَلَىٰٓ أَن مَّسَّنِيَ ٱلۡكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ
He said, “Do you give me the good news despite the old age has befallen me? So what good news you are giving to me?”
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 54
قَالُواْ بَشَّرۡنَٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلۡقَٰنِطِينَ
They said, “We have given to you the good news of a fact. So do not be one of those who lose hope.”
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 55
قَالَ وَمَن يَقۡنَطُ مِن رَّحۡمَةِ رَبِّهِۦٓ إِلَّا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ
He said, “Who can lose hope in the mercy of his Lord except those who have lost the straight path?”
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 56
قَالَ فَمَا خَطۡبُكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ
He said, “Then, what is your mission, O messengers?”
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 57
قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّآ أُرۡسِلۡنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمٖ مُّجۡرِمِينَ
They said, “We have been sent to a sinful people
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 58
إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٍ إِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ
except the family of LūT - all of whom we shall save
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 59
إِلَّا ٱمۡرَأَتَهُۥ قَدَّرۡنَآ إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ ٱلۡغَٰبِرِينَ
but his wife. We have ordained that she will be among those who will remain behind.”
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 60
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ءَالَ لُوطٍ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ
So when the messengers came to the family of LūT
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 61
قَالَ إِنَّكُمۡ قَوۡمٞ مُّنكَرُونَ
he said, “You are an unfamiliar people.”
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 62
قَالُواْ بَلۡ جِئۡنَٰكَ بِمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَمۡتَرُونَ
They said, “No, but we have brought to you that (scourge) in which they have been doubting
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 63
وَأَتَيۡنَٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَٰدِقُونَ
and we have come to you with a definite matter and surely we are truthful
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 64
فَأَسۡرِ بِأَهۡلِكَ بِقِطۡعٖ مِّنَ ٱلَّيۡلِ وَٱتَّبِعۡ أَدۡبَٰرَهُمۡ وَلَا يَلۡتَفِتۡ مِنكُمۡ أَحَدٞ وَٱمۡضُواْ حَيۡثُ تُؤۡمَرُونَ
So, carry your family after a part of the night (has passed), and follow them at the rear (to make sure that all of your family has joined you), and no one from you should look back; and keep going to where you are commanded.”
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 65
وَقَضَيۡنَآ إِلَيۡهِ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡأَمۡرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ مَقۡطُوعٞ مُّصۡبِحِينَ
We conveyed to him Our decision that they (the unbelievers) were to be totally uprooted when they would see the morning
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 66
وَجَآءَ أَهۡلُ ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ يَسۡتَبۡشِرُونَ
And the people of the city came rejoicing
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 67
قَالَ إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ضَيۡفِي فَلَا تَفۡضَحُونِ
He (LūT) said, “They are my guests; so do not put me to shame
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 68
وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخۡزُونِ
and fear Allah and do not disgrace me.”
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 69
قَالُوٓاْ أَوَلَمۡ نَنۡهَكَ عَنِ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
They said, “Had we not forbidden you from (being the guardian of) the whole world?”
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 70
قَالَ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ بَنَاتِيٓ إِن كُنتُمۡ فَٰعِلِينَ
He said, “These are my daughters, if you are to do something.”
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 71
لَعَمۡرُكَ إِنَّهُمۡ لَفِي سَكۡرَتِهِمۡ يَعۡمَهُونَ
By your life, (O prophet) they were wandering blindly in their intoxication (misguidance)
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 72
فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّيۡحَةُ مُشۡرِقِينَ
So, they were seized by the Cry at sunrise
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 73
فَجَعَلۡنَا عَٰلِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمۡطَرۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ حِجَارَةٗ مِّن سِجِّيلٍ
Then, We turned it (the city) upside down and rained down upon them stones of baked clay
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 74
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّلۡمُتَوَسِّمِينَ
Surely, in that there are signs for those who read signs
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 75
وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِيلٖ مُّقِيمٍ
Surely, it (their city) is located on the straight road
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 76
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Surely, in it there is a sign for the believers
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 77
وَإِن كَانَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡأَيۡكَةِ لَظَٰلِمِينَ
And the people of Aikah were (also) transgressors
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 78
فَٱنتَقَمۡنَا مِنۡهُمۡ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٖ مُّبِينٖ
So, We punished them in retribution, and both of them are (situated) by a highway, clearly visible
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 79
وَلَقَدۡ كَذَّبَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡحِجۡرِ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
And the people of Al-Hijr gave the lie to the messengers
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 80
وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمۡ ءَايَٰتِنَا فَكَانُواْ عَنۡهَا مُعۡرِضِينَ
We provided them with Our signs, yet they kept turning away from them
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 81
وَكَانُواْ يَنۡحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا ءَامِنِينَ
They used to hew out houses from the hills peacefully
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 82
فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّيۡحَةُ مُصۡبِحِينَ
Then, the Cry seized them by the morning
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 83
فَمَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ
So, whatever they earned did not come to their help
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 84
وَمَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ لَأٓتِيَةٞۖ فَٱصۡفَحِ ٱلصَّفۡحَ ٱلۡجَمِيلَ
We did not create the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them without a truthful purpose. The Hour is sure to come. Therefore, overlook (their evil behavior) in a gracious manner
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 85
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ ٱلۡخَلَّـٰقُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
Surely, your Lord is the Creator of all, the All-Knowing
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 86
وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَٰكَ سَبۡعٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡمَثَانِي وَٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ ٱلۡعَظِيمَ
We have given you the seven oft-repeated verses and the glorious Qur’ān
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 87
لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيۡنَيۡكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعۡنَا بِهِۦٓ أَزۡوَٰجٗا مِّنۡهُمۡ وَلَا تَحۡزَنۡ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَٱخۡفِضۡ جَنَاحَكَ لِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Never stretch your eyes towards what We have given to groups of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and be kind to believers in humbleness
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 88
وَقُلۡ إِنِّيٓ أَنَا ٱلنَّذِيرُ ٱلۡمُبِينُ
and say, “I am a plain warner indeed”
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 89
كَمَآ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَى ٱلۡمُقۡتَسِمِينَ
(to warn them that We may send down the scourge upon them) as We sent down upon the dividers
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 90
ٱلَّذِينَ جَعَلُواْ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ عِضِينَ
who had split the divine recitation (Scriptures) into bits
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 91
فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسۡـَٔلَنَّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ
So, by your Lord, We shall question all of them
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 92
عَمَّا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ
about what they have been doing
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 93
فَٱصۡدَعۡ بِمَا تُؤۡمَرُ وَأَعۡرِضۡ عَنِ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ
Now, proclaim what you are commanded to, and turn away from those who ascribe partners to Allah
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 94
إِنَّا كَفَيۡنَٰكَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَهۡزِءِينَ
Surely, We are sufficient for you against those who deride
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 95
ٱلَّذِينَ يَجۡعَلُونَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَۚ فَسَوۡفَ يَعۡلَمُونَ
those who believe in any other god along with Allah. So, they shall soon learn (the reality)
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 96
وَلَقَدۡ نَعۡلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدۡرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ
We know that your heart feels distressed for what they say
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 97
فَسَبِّحۡ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ
So, proclaim the purity and glory of your Lord, and be among those who prostrate themselves (before Allah)
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 98
وَٱعۡبُدۡ رَبَّكَ حَتَّىٰ يَأۡتِيَكَ ٱلۡيَقِينُ
and worship your Lord until comes to you that which is certain
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 99
