Surah At-Takwir - English Translation by Mir Anees Original
إِذَا ٱلشَّمۡسُ كُوِّرَتۡ
When the sun is made to wind up
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 1
وَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ ٱنكَدَرَتۡ
and when the stars become hazy
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 2
وَإِذَا ٱلۡجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتۡ
and when the mountains are moved away
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 3
وَإِذَا ٱلۡعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتۡ
and when camels with ten months' pregnancy are left off
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 4
وَإِذَا ٱلۡوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتۡ
and when wild animals are brought together
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 5
وَإِذَا ٱلۡبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتۡ
and when the oceans are flooded
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 6
وَإِذَا ٱلنُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتۡ
and when the souls are paired (probably with their respective bodies)
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 7
وَإِذَا ٱلۡمَوۡءُۥدَةُ سُئِلَتۡ
and when the female child buried alive is asked
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 8
بِأَيِّ ذَنۢبٖ قُتِلَتۡ
for what sin she was killed
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 9
وَإِذَا ٱلصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتۡ
and when the pages are spread
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 10
وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ كُشِطَتۡ
and when the sky has its covering removed
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 11
وَإِذَا ٱلۡجَحِيمُ سُعِّرَتۡ
and when the hell is kindled
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 12
وَإِذَا ٱلۡجَنَّةُ أُزۡلِفَتۡ
and when the garden is brought near
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 13
عَلِمَتۡ نَفۡسٞ مَّآ أَحۡضَرَتۡ
(every) soul (everyone) will know what (deeds) it has brought for presentation
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 14
فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِٱلۡخُنَّسِ
So I do swear by those that withdraw
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 15
ٱلۡجَوَارِ ٱلۡكُنَّسِ
those that move swiftly, hiding
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 16
وَٱلَّيۡلِ إِذَا عَسۡعَسَ
and the night when it comes (and goes)
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 17
وَٱلصُّبۡحِ إِذَا تَنَفَّسَ
and the morning when it breathes (and makes us conscious)
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 18
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلُ رَسُولٖ كَرِيمٖ
it is certainly the word of an honoured messenger (Jibreel)
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 19
ذِي قُوَّةٍ عِندَ ذِي ٱلۡعَرۡشِ مَكِينٖ
possessor of power, established in the presence (of Allah) to Whom belongs the throne
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 20
مُّطَاعٖ ثَمَّ أَمِينٖ
one to be obeyed, and with it trustworthy
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 21
وَمَا صَاحِبُكُم بِمَجۡنُونٖ
And your companion (Muhammed) is not possessed by jinn
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 22
وَلَقَدۡ رَءَاهُ بِٱلۡأُفُقِ ٱلۡمُبِينِ
And he (Muhammed) saw him (Jibreel) on the clear horizon
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 23
وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى ٱلۡغَيۡبِ بِضَنِينٖ
And he is not a miser concealing (information) of the unseen
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 24
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوۡلِ شَيۡطَٰنٖ رَّجِيمٖ
And it is not the word of the cursed devil
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 25
فَأَيۡنَ تَذۡهَبُونَ
So in' which direction are you all going
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 26
إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكۡرٞ لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
The (Quran) is nothing but a reminder to the worlds
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 27
لِمَن شَآءَ مِنكُمۡ أَن يَسۡتَقِيمَ
for him among you who wills to be upright
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 28
وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
And you do not will unless Allah, the Fosterer of the worlds, wills
Surah At-Takwir, Verse 29
