Surah Al-Inshirah - English Translation by Dr Kamal Omar
أَلَمۡ نَشۡرَحۡ لَكَ صَدۡرَكَ
Have We not widened for you, your chest (i.e., made your heart receptive to the Message)
Surah Al-Inshirah, Verse 1
وَوَضَعۡنَا عَنكَ وِزۡرَكَ
and removed from you your burden (of man-created religion, traditions and Fiqh) —
Surah Al-Inshirah, Verse 2
ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنقَضَ ظَهۡرَكَ
that which had almost broken your back
Surah Al-Inshirah, Verse 3
وَرَفَعۡنَا لَكَ ذِكۡرَكَ
And We exalted in your interest, Zikr ('Message') revealed unto you. (See Verse)
Surah Al-Inshirah, Verse 4
فَإِنَّ مَعَ ٱلۡعُسۡرِ يُسۡرًا
So, without doubt, linked with hard endeavour, is relief and ease
Surah Al-Inshirah, Verse 5
إِنَّ مَعَ ٱلۡعُسۡرِ يُسۡرٗا
Surely, following hardship is relief
Surah Al-Inshirah, Verse 6
فَإِذَا فَرَغۡتَ فَٱنصَبۡ
So whenever you became free, get attached to the ideal target (i.e., understanding, adopting and propagating Al-Kitab)
Surah Al-Inshirah, Verse 7
وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَٱرۡغَب
and to your Nourisher-Sustainer, then you (must) get attached
Surah Al-Inshirah, Verse 8
