Surah At-tur - English Translation by Literal
وَٱلطُّورِ
By/and the mountain
Surah At-tur, Verse 1
وَكِتَٰبٖ مَّسۡطُورٖ
By/and a Book written/inscribed/drafted
Surah At-tur, Verse 2
فِي رَقّٖ مَّنشُورٖ
In spread/publicized parchment
Surah At-tur, Verse 3
وَٱلۡبَيۡتِ ٱلۡمَعۡمُورِ
By/and to the House/Home, the frequently visited/inhabited/populated
Surah At-tur, Verse 4
وَٱلسَّقۡفِ ٱلۡمَرۡفُوعِ
By/and the roof/ceiling, the raised
Surah At-tur, Verse 5
وَٱلۡبَحۡرِ ٱلۡمَسۡجُورِ
By/and the sea/ocean , the filled and overflowed
Surah At-tur, Verse 6
إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَٰقِعٞ
That truly your Lord`s torture (is) happening/falling (E)
Surah At-tur, Verse 7
مَّا لَهُۥ مِن دَافِعٖ
(There is) no repeller/pusher for it
Surah At-tur, Verse 8
يَوۡمَ تَمُورُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ مَوۡرٗا
A day/time the sky/space agitates/moves from side to side quickly (in) agitation/quick movement from side to side
Surah At-tur, Verse 9
وَتَسِيرُ ٱلۡجِبَالُ سَيۡرٗا
And the mountains moves movement/manipulation
Surah At-tur, Verse 10
فَوَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
So calamity/scandal (on) that day to the liars/falsifiers
Surah At-tur, Verse 11
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ فِي خَوۡضٖ يَلۡعَبُونَ
Those who, they are in a plunge/an engagement in conversation playing/amusing
Surah At-tur, Verse 12
يَوۡمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا
A day/time they are being called repeatedly to Hell`s fire , repelling/pushing away violently and roughly
Surah At-tur, Verse 13
هَٰذِهِ ٱلنَّارُ ٱلَّتِي كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ
This (is) the fire which you were with it lying/denying
Surah At-tur, Verse 14
أَفَسِحۡرٌ هَٰذَآ أَمۡ أَنتُمۡ لَا تُبۡصِرُونَ
So is magic/sorcery that (so is that magic/sorcery)? Or you do not see/look/understand
Surah At-tur, Verse 15
ٱصۡلَوۡهَا فَٱصۡبِرُوٓاْ أَوۡ لَا تَصۡبِرُواْ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيۡكُمۡۖ إِنَّمَا تُجۡزَوۡنَ مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ
Roast/suffer it , so be patient or do not be patient, (it is) equal/alike on (to) you, but/truly you are being reimbursed what you were making/doing
Surah At-tur, Verse 16
إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّـٰتٖ وَنَعِيمٖ
That truly the fearing and obeying (are) in treed gardens/paradises and blessing/comfort and ease
Surah At-tur, Verse 17
فَٰكِهِينَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمۡ رَبُّهُمۡ وَوَقَىٰهُمۡ رَبُّهُمۡ عَذَابَ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ
Enjoying/joyful with what their Lord gave them, and their Lord protected them (from) the Hell`s torture
Surah At-tur, Verse 18
كُلُواْ وَٱشۡرَبُواْ هَنِيٓـَٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ
Eat and drink pleasurable/tasty because (of) what you were making/doing
Surah At-tur, Verse 19
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٖ مَّصۡفُوفَةٖۖ وَزَوَّجۡنَٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٖ
Reclining/resting on royal beds/sofas lined/arranged, and We got them married with (spouses of) eyes with intense blackness of pupils and whiteness (beautifully contrasted)
Surah At-tur, Verse 20
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَٱتَّبَعَتۡهُمۡ ذُرِّيَّتُهُم بِإِيمَٰنٍ أَلۡحَقۡنَا بِهِمۡ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمۡ وَمَآ أَلَتۡنَٰهُم مِّنۡ عَمَلِهِم مِّن شَيۡءٖۚ كُلُّ ٱمۡرِيِٕۭ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٞ
And those who believed and their descendants followed them with faith/belief, We made their descendants catch up/follow with them, and We did not reduce/diminish them from a thing from their deeds , each/every human with what he gained/won (is) accountable
Surah At-tur, Verse 21
وَأَمۡدَدۡنَٰهُم بِفَٰكِهَةٖ وَلَحۡمٖ مِّمَّا يَشۡتَهُونَ
And We extended/spread them with fruits and flesh/meat from what they desire/crave
Surah At-tur, Verse 22
يَتَنَٰزَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأۡسٗا لَّا لَغۡوٞ فِيهَا وَلَا تَأۡثِيمٞ
They give each other in it a cup/wine , (there is) no nonsense/senseless talk in it, and nor sinning/committing crimes
Surah At-tur, Verse 23
۞وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ غِلۡمَانٞ لَّهُمۡ كَأَنَّهُمۡ لُؤۡلُؤٞ مَّكۡنُونٞ
And servants/boys for them, circle/walk around on them, as if they are protected/covered pearls
Surah At-tur, Verse 24
وَأَقۡبَلَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضٖ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
And some of them approached/came on (to) some (each other), they ask/question each other
Surah At-tur, Verse 25
قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبۡلُ فِيٓ أَهۡلِنَا مُشۡفِقِينَ
They said: "We were before in our people/family afraid/compassionate
Surah At-tur, Verse 26
فَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡنَا وَوَقَىٰنَا عَذَابَ ٱلسَّمُومِ
So God blessed on us and He protected/preserved us (from) the severe hot`s/burning wind`s torture
Surah At-tur, Verse 27
إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبۡلُ نَدۡعُوهُۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلۡبَرُّ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
We were from before, we call Him, that He truly is, He is the righteous/charitable , the merciful/most merciful
Surah At-tur, Verse 28
فَذَكِّرۡ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِنِعۡمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٖ وَلَا مَجۡنُونٍ
So remind, so you are not with your Lord`s blessing with a fortune teller/highly ranked priest or rabbi ,and nor mad/insane
Surah At-tur, Verse 29
أَمۡ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٞ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهِۦ رَيۡبَ ٱلۡمَنُونِ
Or they say: "A poet, we wait/remain with him the death`s doubt/suspicion
Surah At-tur, Verse 30
قُلۡ تَرَبَّصُواْ فَإِنِّي مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡمُتَرَبِّصِينَ
Say: "Wait/remain (watch) so that I am with you from the waiting/ remaining (watching)
Surah At-tur, Verse 31
أَمۡ تَأۡمُرُهُمۡ أَحۡلَٰمُهُم بِهَٰذَآۚ أَمۡ هُمۡ قَوۡمٞ طَاغُونَ
Or their minds/dreams order/command them with that, or they are a tyrannizing/arrogant nation
Surah At-tur, Verse 32
أَمۡ يَقُولُونَ تَقَوَّلَهُۥۚ بَل لَّا يُؤۡمِنُونَ
Or they say: "He made it up." But/rather, they do not believe
Surah At-tur, Verse 33
فَلۡيَأۡتُواْ بِحَدِيثٖ مِّثۡلِهِۦٓ إِن كَانُواْ صَٰدِقِينَ
So they come (E) with an information/speech equal/alike to it, if they were truthful
Surah At-tur, Verse 34
أَمۡ خُلِقُواْ مِنۡ غَيۡرِ شَيۡءٍ أَمۡ هُمُ ٱلۡخَٰلِقُونَ
Or they were created from without a thing, or they are the creators
Surah At-tur, Verse 35
أَمۡ خَلَقُواْ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَۚ بَل لَّا يُوقِنُونَ
Or they created the skies/space and the earth/Planet Earth, but/rather they are not sure/certain
Surah At-tur, Verse 36
أَمۡ عِندَهُمۡ خَزَآئِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمۡ هُمُ ٱلۡمُصَۜيۡطِرُونَ
Or at them (are) your Lord`s safes/storages (treasures)? Or they are the dominators/controllers
Surah At-tur, Verse 37
أَمۡ لَهُمۡ سُلَّمٞ يَسۡتَمِعُونَ فِيهِۖ فَلۡيَأۡتِ مُسۡتَمِعُهُم بِسُلۡطَٰنٖ مُّبِينٍ
Or for them (is) a ladder, they hear/listen in (from) it? So their hearer/listener should come with a clear/evident proof/evidence/power
Surah At-tur, Verse 38
أَمۡ لَهُ ٱلۡبَنَٰتُ وَلَكُمُ ٱلۡبَنُونَ
Or for Him (are) the daughters, and for you (are) the sons
Surah At-tur, Verse 39
أَمۡ تَسۡـَٔلُهُمۡ أَجۡرٗا فَهُم مِّن مَّغۡرَمٖ مُّثۡقَلُونَ
Or you ask/question them (for) a reward/wage/fee, so they are from a burdensome debt heavy/burdened/loaded
Surah At-tur, Verse 40
أَمۡ عِندَهُمُ ٱلۡغَيۡبُ فَهُمۡ يَكۡتُبُونَ
Or at them (is) the unseen/absent so they write/dictate
Surah At-tur, Verse 41
أَمۡ يُرِيدُونَ كَيۡدٗاۖ فَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ هُمُ ٱلۡمَكِيدُونَ
Or they want/intend a plot/conspiracy ? So those who disbelieved they are the plotted/conspired against
Surah At-tur, Verse 42
أَمۡ لَهُمۡ إِلَٰهٌ غَيۡرُ ٱللَّهِۚ سُبۡحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشۡرِكُونَ
Or for them (is) a god other than God? God`s praise/glory from what they share/make partners (with Him)
Surah At-tur, Verse 43
وَإِن يَرَوۡاْ كِسۡفٗا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ سَاقِطٗا يَقُولُواْ سَحَابٞ مَّرۡكُومٞ
And if they see/understand pieces from the sky/space dropping/falling they say: "Piled/accumulated/heaped clouds
Surah At-tur, Verse 44
فَذَرۡهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ يُلَٰقُواْ يَوۡمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِي فِيهِ يُصۡعَقُونَ
So leave them until they meet/find their day/time which in it they die/get thunderstruck
Surah At-tur, Verse 45
يَوۡمَ لَا يُغۡنِي عَنۡهُمۡ كَيۡدُهُمۡ شَيۡـٔٗا وَلَا هُمۡ يُنصَرُونَ
A day/time their plotting/conspiracy does not enrich/suffice from them a thing, and nor they be given victory/aid
Surah At-tur, Verse 46
وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ عَذَابٗا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ
And that truly to those who were unjust/oppressive (is) a torture other than that, and but most of them do not know
Surah At-tur, Verse 47
وَٱصۡبِرۡ لِحُكۡمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعۡيُنِنَاۖ وَسَبِّحۡ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ
And be patient for your Lord`s judgment/rule, so that you are with Our eyes/sights, and praise/glorify with your Lord`s praise/gratitude when you stand/get up
Surah At-tur, Verse 48
وَمِنَ ٱلَّيۡلِ فَسَبِّحۡهُ وَإِدۡبَٰرَ ٱلنُّجُومِ
And from the night so praise/glorify Him, and (at) the star`s/planet`s passings/ends (settings)
Surah At-tur, Verse 49
