ٱلۡحَآقَّةُ
The inevitable (of the Day of Resurrection)
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 1
مَا ٱلۡحَآقَّةُ
What is the inevitable
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 2
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلۡحَآقَّةُ
And what will make you understand what the inevitable is
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 3
كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ وَعَادُۢ بِٱلۡقَارِعَةِ
Thamud and Ad people denied the calamity (the striking Hour of judgment)
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 4
فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهۡلِكُواْ بِٱلطَّاغِيَةِ
As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 5
وَأَمَّا عَادٞ فَأُهۡلِكُواْ بِرِيحٖ صَرۡصَرٍ عَاتِيَةٖ
As for Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 6
سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ سَبۡعَ لَيَالٖ وَثَمَٰنِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومٗاۖ فَتَرَى ٱلۡقَوۡمَ فِيهَا صَرۡعَىٰ كَأَنَّهُمۡ أَعۡجَازُ نَخۡلٍ خَاوِيَةٖ
which Allah imposed on them for 7 nights and 8 days in succession, so that you could see the people lying overthrown (destroyed) in it as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 7
فَهَلۡ تَرَىٰ لَهُم مِّنۢ بَاقِيَةٖ
Now, do you see any remnants of them
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 8
وَجَآءَ فِرۡعَوۡنُ وَمَن قَبۡلَهُۥ وَٱلۡمُؤۡتَفِكَٰتُ بِٱلۡخَاطِئَةِ
And Pharaoh and those before him, and the cities overthrown (the people of Lot) who committed sin
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 9
فَعَصَوۡاْ رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمۡ فَأَخَذَهُمۡ أَخۡذَةٗ رَّابِيَةً
and they disobeyed their Lord’s Messenger, so He seized them with a strong seize
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 10
إِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَا ٱلۡمَآءُ حَمَلۡنَٰكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡجَارِيَةِ
Surely! When the water rose beyond limits (Noah’s flood), We carried you people in the floating ship
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 11
لِنَجۡعَلَهَا لَكُمۡ تَذۡكِرَةٗ وَتَعِيَهَآ أُذُنٞ وَٰعِيَةٞ
that We may make it an event of warning for you so that it may be understood by the retaining ears (in memory)
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 12
فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِي ٱلصُّورِ نَفۡخَةٞ وَٰحِدَةٞ
Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (first one)
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 13
وَحُمِلَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَٱلۡجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ
and the earth with its mountains will be removed (from their places) and crushed with a single crushing
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 14
فَيَوۡمَئِذٖ وَقَعَتِ ٱلۡوَاقِعَةُ
then on that Day the great Event will befall
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 15
وَٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَهِيَ يَوۡمَئِذٖ وَاهِيَةٞ
and the heaven will split asunder, and for that Day it (heaven) will be frail and torn up
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 16
وَٱلۡمَلَكُ عَلَىٰٓ أَرۡجَآئِهَاۚ وَيَحۡمِلُ عَرۡشَ رَبِّكَ فَوۡقَهُمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٖ ثَمَٰنِيَةٞ
And the angels will be on all sides and on that Day 8 angels will bear the Throne of your Lord above them
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 17
يَوۡمَئِذٖ تُعۡرَضُونَ لَا تَخۡفَىٰ مِنكُمۡ خَافِيَةٞ
That Day you will be brought to judgment (before your Lord), and not a secret of you will be hidden
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 18
فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ هَآؤُمُ ٱقۡرَءُواْ كِتَٰبِيَهۡ
Then, as for the one who will be given its record (of deeds) in its right hand, will say: “Here! read my record
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 19
إِنِّي ظَنَنتُ أَنِّي مُلَٰقٍ حِسَابِيَهۡ
Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my account!”
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 20
فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٖ رَّاضِيَةٖ
So he shall have a life of well-pleasing
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 21
فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٖ
in a lofty Paradise
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 22
قُطُوفُهَا دَانِيَةٞ
with fruits in bunches which will be low and near at hand
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 23
كُلُواْ وَٱشۡرَبُواْ هَنِيٓـَٔۢا بِمَآ أَسۡلَفۡتُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَيَّامِ ٱلۡخَالِيَةِ
(It will be said him): “Eat and drink at ease, (this is the reward) for what you did sent on before in past days!”
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 24
وَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِشِمَالِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي لَمۡ أُوتَ كِتَٰبِيَهۡ
But as for the one who will be given its record (of deeds) in its left hand, will say: “I wish that I had not been given my record (of deeds)
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 25
وَلَمۡ أَدۡرِ مَا حِسَابِيَهۡ
and that I had never known what my account was
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 26
يَٰلَيۡتَهَا كَانَتِ ٱلۡقَاضِيَةَ
I wish if only it had been my end (death)
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 27
مَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنِّي مَالِيَهۡۜ
My wealth has availed me nothing
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 28
هَلَكَ عَنِّي سُلۡطَٰنِيَهۡ
my power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me!”
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 29
خُذُوهُ فَغُلُّوهُ
(It will be said): “Seize him and fetter (with a chain around its neck)
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 30
ثُمَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ
then throw him in the blazing fire
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 31
ثُمَّ فِي سِلۡسِلَةٖ ذَرۡعُهَا سَبۡعُونَ ذِرَاعٗا فَٱسۡلُكُوهُ
then fasten him with a chain of 70 cubits long
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 32
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
Surely, he did not believe in Allah, the Great
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 33
وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينِ
and did not urge on the feeding of the poor
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 34
فَلَيۡسَ لَهُ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ هَٰهُنَا حَمِيمٞ
This Day he has neither a friend here
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 35
وَلَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنۡ غِسۡلِينٖ
nor any food except the filth from the washing of wounds
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 36
لَّا يَأۡكُلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡخَٰطِـُٔونَ
which none will eat except the sinners.”
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 37
فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِمَا تُبۡصِرُونَ
So, surely I swear by whatever you see
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 38
وَمَا لَا تُبۡصِرُونَ
and by whatever you don’t see
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 39
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلُ رَسُولٖ كَرِيمٖ
that surely this is the word of an honored Messenger
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 40
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوۡلِ شَاعِرٖۚ قَلِيلٗا مَّا تُؤۡمِنُونَ
It is not the word of a poet, little is that you believe
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 41
وَلَا بِقَوۡلِ كَاهِنٖۚ قَلِيلٗا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ
nor it is the word of a soothsayer, little is that you remember
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 42
تَنزِيلٞ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
This is the revelation sent down from the Lord of the worlds
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 43
وَلَوۡ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيۡنَا بَعۡضَ ٱلۡأَقَاوِيلِ
Had he (Muhammad) forged false sayings concerning Us
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 44
لَأَخَذۡنَا مِنۡهُ بِٱلۡيَمِينِ
We certainly would have seized him by his right hand
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 45
ثُمَّ لَقَطَعۡنَا مِنۡهُ ٱلۡوَتِينَ
then certainly would have cut off his life artery
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 46
فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنۡ أَحَدٍ عَنۡهُ حَٰجِزِينَ
and none of you could prevent (Us) from punishing him
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 47
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَذۡكِرَةٞ لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ
Surely this (Qur’an) is a reminder for the pious
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 48
وَإِنَّا لَنَعۡلَمُ أَنَّ مِنكُم مُّكَذِّبِينَ
Surely We know that there are some among you who deny (the Qur’an)
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 49
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَسۡرَةٌ عَلَى ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
and indeed it (this Qur’an) will be an anguish for the disbelievers
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 50
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَقُّ ٱلۡيَقِينِ
Yet, it (this Qur’an) is an absolute truth with certainty
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 51
فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
So glorify the name of your Lord, the Great
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 52
