ٱلۡحَآقَّةُ
The truth
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 1
مَا ٱلۡحَآقَّةُ
What is the truth
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 2
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلۡحَآقَّةُ
And what will make you realize what the truth is
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 3
كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ وَعَادُۢ بِٱلۡقَارِعَةِ
Thamud and Aad denied the disaster
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 4
فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهۡلِكُواْ بِٱلطَّاغِيَةِ
So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the thunder and lightning
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 5
وَأَمَّا عَادٞ فَأُهۡلِكُواْ بِرِيحٖ صَرۡصَرٍ عَاتِيَةٖ
And as for Aad, they were destroyed by a violently furious wind
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 6
سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ سَبۡعَ لَيَالٖ وَثَمَٰنِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومٗاۖ فَتَرَى ٱلۡقَوۡمَ فِيهَا صَرۡعَىٰ كَأَنَّهُمۡ أَعۡجَازُ نَخۡلٍ خَاوِيَةٖ
which He imposed on them for seven nights and eight days continuously, so that you could see people lying therein, overthrown as if they were the hollow trunks of date palms
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 7
فَهَلۡ تَرَىٰ لَهُم مِّنۢ بَاقِيَةٖ
So do you see anyone of them remaining
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 8
وَجَآءَ فِرۡعَوۡنُ وَمَن قَبۡلَهُۥ وَٱلۡمُؤۡتَفِكَٰتُ بِٱلۡخَاطِئَةِ
And Pharaoh and those before him and the overthrown cities, (all) were involved in faults
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 9
فَعَصَوۡاْ رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمۡ فَأَخَذَهُمۡ أَخۡذَةٗ رَّابِيَةً
so they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord therefore He seized them with a severe seizure
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 10
إِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَا ٱلۡمَآءُ حَمَلۡنَٰكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡجَارِيَةِ
When the water overflowed We carried you in the ship
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 11
لِنَجۡعَلَهَا لَكُمۡ تَذۡكِرَةٗ وَتَعِيَهَآ أُذُنٞ وَٰعِيَةٞ
so as to make it a reminder for you and that remembering ears may keep it in memory
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 12
فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِي ٱلصُّورِ نَفۡخَةٞ وَٰحِدَةٞ
So when it will be blown into the trumpet (structure of the universe, with) a single blowing
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 13
وَحُمِلَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَٱلۡجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ
and the earth will be carried away with the mountains then crushed to pieces with a single crushing
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 14
فَيَوۡمَئِذٖ وَقَعَتِ ٱلۡوَاقِعَةُ
then on that day the event will befall
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 15
وَٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَهِيَ يَوۡمَئِذٖ وَاهِيَةٞ
And the sky will be split asunder, so that day it will be weak
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 16
وَٱلۡمَلَكُ عَلَىٰٓ أَرۡجَآئِهَاۚ وَيَحۡمِلُ عَرۡشَ رَبِّكَ فَوۡقَهُمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٖ ثَمَٰنِيَةٞ
And the angels will be on its sides, and on that day, eight will bear the throne of your Lord above them
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 17
يَوۡمَئِذٖ تُعۡرَضُونَ لَا تَخۡفَىٰ مِنكُمۡ خَافِيَةٞ
On that day all of you will be presented, no secret of yours will be hidden
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 18
فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ هَآؤُمُ ٱقۡرَءُواْ كِتَٰبِيَهۡ
So, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, “Take read my record
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 19
إِنِّي ظَنَنتُ أَنِّي مُلَٰقٍ حِسَابِيَهۡ
I was expecting that I would certainly encounter my account (of deeds).”
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 20
فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٖ رَّاضِيَةٖ
So he will be in a pleasant life
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 21
فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٖ
in a high garden
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 22
قُطُوفُهَا دَانِيَةٞ
the clusters of which will be near
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 23
كُلُواْ وَٱشۡرَبُواْ هَنِيٓـَٔۢا بِمَآ أَسۡلَفۡتُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَيَّامِ ٱلۡخَالِيَةِ
(It will be said to him), “Eat and drink pleasantly because of that which you sent before you during the days that are gone (i.e. during the life of the world).”
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 24
وَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِشِمَالِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي لَمۡ أُوتَ كِتَٰبِيَهۡ
And as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, “I wish my record had not been given to me
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 25
وَلَمۡ أَدۡرِ مَا حِسَابِيَهۡ
and I had not known what my account (of deeds) was
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 26
يَٰلَيۡتَهَا كَانَتِ ٱلۡقَاضِيَةَ
wish the (death) had made an end of me
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 27
مَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنِّي مَالِيَهۡۜ
my wealth has not made me carefree from (this)
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 28
هَلَكَ عَنِّي سُلۡطَٰنِيَهۡ
my authority has gone away from me.”
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 29
خُذُوهُ فَغُلُّوهُ
(It will be said), “Catch him then chain him
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 30
ثُمَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ
then make him enter the hell
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 31
ثُمَّ فِي سِلۡسِلَةٖ ذَرۡعُهَا سَبۡعُونَ ذِرَاعٗا فَٱسۡلُكُوهُ
then make him to enter into a chain, the length of which is seventy cubits(forearm length)
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 32
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
He had not believed in God, the Great
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 33
وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينِ
and he had not urged on the feeding of the poor
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 34
فَلَيۡسَ لَهُ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ هَٰهُنَا حَمِيمٞ
so he (too) this day, has no intimate friend here
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 35
وَلَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنۡ غِسۡلِينٖ
nor any food except the corruption from the washings of wounds
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 36
لَّا يَأۡكُلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡخَٰطِـُٔونَ
none will eat it except the defaulters.”
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 37
فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِمَا تُبۡصِرُونَ
So I do swear by that which you see
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 38
وَمَا لَا تُبۡصِرُونَ
and that which you do not see (that)
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 39
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلُ رَسُولٖ كَرِيمٖ
This (Quran) is certainly the word of an honoured messenger
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 40
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوۡلِ شَاعِرٖۚ قَلِيلٗا مَّا تُؤۡمِنُونَ
and it is not a word of a poet, little is it that you believe
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 41
وَلَا بِقَوۡلِ كَاهِنٖۚ قَلِيلٗا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ
and it is not a word of a soothsayer, little is it that you mind
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 42
تَنزِيلٞ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
(it has been) sent down from the Lord of the worlds
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 43
وَلَوۡ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيۡنَا بَعۡضَ ٱلۡأَقَاوِيلِ
And had he said some words about Us on his own behalf (and attributed them to Us, then)
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 44
لَأَخَذۡنَا مِنۡهُ بِٱلۡيَمِينِ
We would have seized him by his right hand
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 45
ثُمَّ لَقَطَعۡنَا مِنۡهُ ٱلۡوَتِينَ
then We would have cut off the artery of his heart
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 46
فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنۡ أَحَدٍ عَنۡهُ حَٰجِزِينَ
and not one of you could have withheld Us from him
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 47
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَذۡكِرَةٞ لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ
And it is certainly a reminder for those who guard (against evil)
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 48
وَإِنَّا لَنَعۡلَمُ أَنَّ مِنكُم مُّكَذِّبِينَ
And We certainly know that among you are deniers
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 49
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَسۡرَةٌ عَلَى ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
And it will certainly be (a source of) regret for the disbelievers
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 50
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَقُّ ٱلۡيَقِينِ
And surely it is the truth (deserving) certainty
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 51
فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
So glorify the name of your Great Lord
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 52
