ٱلۡحَآقَّةُ
Reality
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 1
مَا ٱلۡحَآقَّةُ
What is reality
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 2
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلۡحَآقَّةُ
What will make you recognize what reality is like
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 3
كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ وَعَادُۢ بِٱلۡقَارِعَةِ
Thamud and Ad denied [they would face] disaster
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 4
فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهۡلِكُواْ بِٱلطَّاغِيَةِ
As for Thamud, they were wiped out by the Thunderbolt
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 5
وَأَمَّا عَادٞ فَأُهۡلِكُواْ بِرِيحٖ صَرۡصَرٍ عَاتِيَةٖ
As for Ad, they were wiped out by a furiously howling gale
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 6
سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ سَبۡعَ لَيَالٖ وَثَمَٰنِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومٗاۖ فَتَرَى ٱلۡقَوۡمَ فِيهَا صَرۡعَىٰ كَأَنَّهُمۡ أَعۡجَازُ نَخۡلٍ خَاوِيَةٖ
He loosed it on them for seven grueling nights and eight days. You would see folk collapsing in it as if they were hollow palm trunks
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 7
فَهَلۡ تَرَىٰ لَهُم مِّنۢ بَاقِيَةٖ
Do you see any survivors from them
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 8
وَجَآءَ فِرۡعَوۡنُ وَمَن قَبۡلَهُۥ وَٱلۡمُؤۡتَفِكَٰتُ بِٱلۡخَاطِئَةِ
Pharaoh came, as well as those before him, and the places Overthrown through [their own] misdeeds
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 9
فَعَصَوۡاْ رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمۡ فَأَخَذَهُمۡ أَخۡذَةٗ رَّابِيَةً
they defied their Lord´s messenger, so He seized them with a tightening grip
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 10
إِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَا ٱلۡمَآءُ حَمَلۡنَٰكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡجَارِيَةِ
When the water overflowed, We loaded you on the vessel
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 11
لِنَجۡعَلَهَا لَكُمۡ تَذۡكِرَةٗ وَتَعِيَهَآ أُذُنٞ وَٰعِيَةٞ
so We might set it up as a Reminder for you and so (your) attentive ears might retain it
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 12
فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِي ٱلصُّورِ نَفۡخَةٞ وَٰحِدَةٞ
When a single blast is blown on the Trumpet
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 13
وَحُمِلَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَٱلۡجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ
and the earth is lifted up along with the mountains and they are both flattened by a single blow
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 14
فَيَوۡمَئِذٖ وَقَعَتِ ٱلۡوَاقِعَةُ
the Event will take place on that day
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 15
وَٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَهِيَ يَوۡمَئِذٖ وَاهِيَةٞ
The sky will split open and seem flimsy that day
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 16
وَٱلۡمَلَكُ عَلَىٰٓ أَرۡجَآئِهَاۚ وَيَحۡمِلُ عَرۡشَ رَبِّكَ فَوۡقَهُمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٖ ثَمَٰنِيَةٞ
while angels [will stand] along its edges. Eight [in all] will bear your Lord´s throne above them on that day
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 17
يَوۡمَئِذٖ تُعۡرَضُونَ لَا تَخۡفَىٰ مِنكُمۡ خَافِيَةٞ
On that day you will (all) be arraigned; no secret of yours will remain hidden
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 18
فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ هَآؤُمُ ٱقۡرَءُواْ كِتَٰبِيَهۡ
Anyone who is given his book in his right hand will say: "Here, read my book
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 19
إِنِّي ظَنَنتُ أَنِّي مُلَٰقٍ حِسَابِيَهۡ
I always thought I would face my reckoning
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 20
فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٖ رَّاضِيَةٖ
He will be in pleasant living
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 21
فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٖ
in a lofty garden
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 22
قُطُوفُهَا دَانِيَةٞ
whose clusters [of fruit] will hang within easy reach
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 23
كُلُواْ وَٱشۡرَبُواْ هَنِيٓـَٔۢا بِمَآ أَسۡلَفۡتُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَيَّامِ ٱلۡخَالِيَةِ
Eat and drink to your heart´s content because of what you sent on ahead in bygone days
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 24
وَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِشِمَالِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي لَمۡ أُوتَ كِتَٰبِيَهۡ
However anyone who is given his book in his left hand will say: "It´s too bad for me; if only my book had not been given me
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 25
وَلَمۡ أَدۡرِ مَا حِسَابِيَهۡ
I would not have known my reckoning
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 26
يَٰلَيۡتَهَا كَانَتِ ٱلۡقَاضِيَةَ
If it had only been the Sentence [once and for all]
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 27
مَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنِّي مَالِيَهۡۜ
My money has not helped me out
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 28
هَلَكَ عَنِّي سُلۡطَٰنِيَهۡ
my authority has been wiped out on me
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 29
خُذُوهُ فَغُلُّوهُ
Take him off and handcuff him
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 30
ثُمَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ
Then let Hades roast him
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 31
ثُمَّ فِي سِلۡسِلَةٖ ذَرۡعُهَا سَبۡعُونَ ذِرَاعٗا فَٱسۡلُكُوهُ
Then padlock him to a chain gang seventy yards long
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 32
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
He did not believe in God Almighty
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 33
وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينِ
nor ever urge [others) to feed the needy
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 34
فَلَيۡسَ لَهُ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ هَٰهُنَا حَمِيمٞ
He has no close friend here today
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 35
وَلَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنۡ غِسۡلِينٖ
nor any food except for some garbage
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 36
لَّا يَأۡكُلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡخَٰطِـُٔونَ
which only sinners eat
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 37
فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِمَا تُبۡصِرُونَ
Yet I swear by whatever you observe
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 38
وَمَا لَا تُبۡصِرُونَ
and what you do not observe
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 39
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلُ رَسُولٖ كَرِيمٖ
that it is a statement [made] by a noble messenger
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 40
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوۡلِ شَاعِرٖۚ قَلِيلٗا مَّا تُؤۡمِنُونَ
It is no poet´s statement; how little do you believe
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 41
وَلَا بِقَوۡلِ كَاهِنٖۚ قَلِيلٗا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ
Nor is it some fortune teller´s statement; how little do you think things over
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 42
تَنزِيلٞ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
[It is] something sent down by the Lord of the Universe
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 43
وَلَوۡ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيۡنَا بَعۡضَ ٱلۡأَقَاوِيلِ
If he had mouthed some [false] statements about Us
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 44
لَأَخَذۡنَا مِنۡهُ بِٱلۡيَمِينِ
We would have seized him by the right hand
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 45
ثُمَّ لَقَطَعۡنَا مِنۡهُ ٱلۡوَتِينَ
then cut off his main artery
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 46
فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنۡ أَحَدٍ عَنۡهُ حَٰجِزِينَ
Not one of you would have prevented it
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 47
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَذۡكِرَةٞ لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ
It is a Reminder for the heedful
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 48
وَإِنَّا لَنَعۡلَمُ أَنَّ مِنكُم مُّكَذِّبِينَ
We know too that some of you will reject it
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 49
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَسۡرَةٌ عَلَى ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
It means despair for disbelievers
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 50
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَقُّ ٱلۡيَقِينِ
yet it is the absolute Truth
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 51
فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
So hymn your Lord´s almighty name
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 52
