Surah Al-Haaqqa - English Translation by Literal
ٱلۡحَآقَّةُ
The disaster/catastrophe/reality
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 1
مَا ٱلۡحَآقَّةُ
What is the disaster/catastrophe/reality
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 2
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلۡحَآقَّةُ
And what makes you know what (is) the disaster/catastrophe/reality
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 3
كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ وَعَادُۢ بِٱلۡقَارِعَةِ
Thamud and Aad lied/denied/falsified with the Resurrection/disaster/calamity
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 4
فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهۡلِكُواْ بِٱلطَّاغِيَةِ
So but (for) Thamud , so they were made to die/destroyed with a wind blowing/frosty (and) violent
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 5
وَأَمَّا عَادٞ فَأُهۡلِكُواْ بِرِيحٖ صَرۡصَرٍ عَاتِيَةٖ
And but (for) Aad , so they were made to die/destroyed by a violent blowing/frosty wind
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 6
سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ سَبۡعَ لَيَالٖ وَثَمَٰنِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومٗاۖ فَتَرَى ٱلۡقَوۡمَ فِيهَا صَرۡعَىٰ كَأَنَّهُمۡ أَعۡجَازُ نَخۡلٍ خَاوِيَةٖ
He manipulated/subjugated it on them seven nights and eight days ominously/severing goodness (uprooting), so you see the nation in it lying flat/mad, as if they are palm tree`s fallen/destroyed ends
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 7
فَهَلۡ تَرَىٰ لَهُم مِّنۢ بَاقِيَةٖ
So do you see for them from a remainder/remnant
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 8
وَجَآءَ فِرۡعَوۡنُ وَمَن قَبۡلَهُۥ وَٱلۡمُؤۡتَفِكَٰتُ بِٱلۡخَاطِئَةِ
And Pharaoh came, and who (is) before him, and the overturned/destroyed cities with the sin
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 9
فَعَصَوۡاْ رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمۡ فَأَخَذَهُمۡ أَخۡذَةٗ رَّابِيَةً
So they disobeyed their Lord`s messenger, so He punished them an increased spellbinding (devastating) punishment
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 10
إِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَا ٱلۡمَآءُ حَمَلۡنَٰكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡجَارِيَةِ
We (E) when the water became elevated (over flowed)/violent , We carried/lifted you in the ship/flowing
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 11
لِنَجۡعَلَهَا لَكُمۡ تَذۡكِرَةٗ وَتَعِيَهَآ أُذُنٞ وَٰعِيَةٞ
To make/put it for you (as) a reminder, and comprehending/perceiving ears accept/understand it
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 12
فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِي ٱلصُّورِ نَفۡخَةٞ وَٰحِدَةٞ
So when (it) was blown in the horn/bugle/instrument, one blow
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 13
وَحُمِلَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَٱلۡجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ
And the earth/Planet Earth and the mountains were carried/lifted , so they (B) were leveled/flattened one crunch/destruction
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 14
فَيَوۡمَئِذٖ وَقَعَتِ ٱلۡوَاقِعَةُ
So that day, the Resurrection/Event landed/happened
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 15
وَٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَهِيَ يَوۡمَئِذٖ وَاهِيَةٞ
And the sky/space split away/cut open , so it is (on) that day cracked/weak
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 16
وَٱلۡمَلَكُ عَلَىٰٓ أَرۡجَآئِهَاۚ وَيَحۡمِلُ عَرۡشَ رَبِّكَ فَوۡقَهُمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٖ ثَمَٰنِيَةٞ
And the angels (are) on its boundaries/vastness , and that day eight carries/lifts your Lord`s throne above them
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 17
يَوۡمَئِذٖ تُعۡرَضُونَ لَا تَخۡفَىٰ مِنكُمۡ خَافِيَةٞ
That day, you are being exhibited/displayed , not a hidden (thing) hides from you
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 18
فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ هَآؤُمُ ٱقۡرَءُواْ كِتَٰبِيَهۡ
So but who was given/brought his book/judgment with his right (hand), so he says: "Take (here take this) read my Book/judgment
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 19
إِنِّي ظَنَنتُ أَنِّي مُلَٰقٍ حِسَابِيَهۡ
That I, I thought/assumed that I am receiving/meeting my account/calculation (punishment)
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 20
فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٖ رَّاضِيَةٖ
So he is in (an) acceptable/approved life/quality of life
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 21
فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٖ
In an elevated/dignified treed garden/paradise
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 22
قُطُوفُهَا دَانِيَةٞ
Its fruit harvests (are) near
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 23
كُلُواْ وَٱشۡرَبُواْ هَنِيٓـَٔۢا بِمَآ أَسۡلَفۡتُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَيَّامِ ٱلۡخَالِيَةِ
Eat and drink pleasurable/wholesome/tasty because (of) what you advanced in the days/times, the past/expired
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 24
وَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِشِمَالِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي لَمۡ أُوتَ كِتَٰبِيَهۡ
And but who was given/brought his Book/judgment with his left (hand), so he says: "I wish I would have not been given my book/judgment
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 25
وَلَمۡ أَدۡرِ مَا حِسَابِيَهۡ
And I did not know what my account/calculation (is)
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 26
يَٰلَيۡتَهَا كَانَتِ ٱلۡقَاضِيَةَ
Oh,. if only it was the end/death
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 27
مَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنِّي مَالِيَهۡۜ
My property/possession/wealth did not enrich/suffice (help) from (for) me
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 28
هَلَكَ عَنِّي سُلۡطَٰنِيَهۡ
My authority/power perished from me
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 29
خُذُوهُ فَغُلُّوهُ
Take/punish him , so chain/tie him
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 30
ثُمَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ
Then (in) the Hell roast/burn him
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 31
ثُمَّ فِي سِلۡسِلَةٖ ذَرۡعُهَا سَبۡعُونَ ذِرَاعٗا فَٱسۡلُكُوهُ
Then in a chain its measure (length is) seventy arm/ells/cubit , so enter/pass/thread/(tie) him
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 32
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
That he truly was not believing with (in) God, the great
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 33
وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينِ
And nor urges/insights/influences on feeding the poorest of poor/poor oppressed
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 34
فَلَيۡسَ لَهُ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ هَٰهُنَا حَمِيمٞ
So here, here (a) concerned (relative/friend) is not for him the day/today
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 35
وَلَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنۡ غِسۡلِينٖ
And nor food except from ghesleen (could be Hell`s occupants` flesh, skin and blood)
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 36
لَّا يَأۡكُلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡخَٰطِـُٔونَ
None eat it except the mistaken/erroneous
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 37
فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِمَا تُبۡصِرُونَ
So I do not swear/make oath with what you see
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 38
وَمَا لَا تُبۡصِرُونَ
And what you do not see
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 39
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلُ رَسُولٖ كَرِيمٖ
That it truly is an honoured/noble messenger`s word/saying (E)
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 40
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوۡلِ شَاعِرٖۚ قَلِيلٗا مَّا تُؤۡمِنُونَ
And it is not with a poet`s word/saying , little (is) what you believe
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 41
وَلَا بِقَوۡلِ كَاهِنٖۚ قَلِيلٗا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ
And nor with a fortune teller`s/altar priests word/saying , little (is) what you mention/remember
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 42
تَنزِيلٞ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
Descent from the creations all together`s/(universe`s) Lord
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 43
وَلَوۡ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيۡنَا بَعۡضَ ٱلۡأَقَاوِيلِ
And if (the messenger) made false statements on Us (on Our behalf) some (of) the sayings/beliefs
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 44
لَأَخَذۡنَا مِنۡهُ بِٱلۡيَمِينِ
We would have punished/taken from him by the right (hand)
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 45
ثُمَّ لَقَطَعۡنَا مِنۡهُ ٱلۡوَتِينَ
Then We would have severed/cut off from him the aorta/heart`s main artery
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 46
فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنۡ أَحَدٍ عَنۡهُ حَٰجِزِينَ
So (there) is not from anyone from you preventing/hindering from (for) him
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 47
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَذۡكِرَةٞ لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ
And that it truly is a reminder for the fearing and obeying
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 48
وَإِنَّا لَنَعۡلَمُ أَنَّ مِنكُم مُّكَذِّبِينَ
And We (E), We know (E) that (E) from you (are) liars/deniers/falsifiers
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 49
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَسۡرَةٌ عَلَى ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
And that it truly is grief/sadness (E) , on the disbelievers
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 50
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَقُّ ٱلۡيَقِينِ
And that it truly is true/real (E) the assurance/certainty
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 51
فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
So praise/glorify with your Lord`s name the great
Surah Al-Haaqqa, Verse 52
