Surah Al-Jinn - English Translation by Ali Bakhtiari Nejad
قُلۡ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّهُ ٱسۡتَمَعَ نَفَرٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ فَقَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا سَمِعۡنَا قُرۡءَانًا عَجَبٗا
Say: it was revealed to me that a group of the Jinn listened, then they said: indeed we heard an amazing Quran
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 1
يَهۡدِيٓ إِلَى ٱلرُّشۡدِ فَـَٔامَنَّا بِهِۦۖ وَلَن نُّشۡرِكَ بِرَبِّنَآ أَحَدٗا
it guides to the right way, so we believed in it, and we will never associate anyone with our Master
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 2
وَأَنَّهُۥ تَعَٰلَىٰ جَدُّ رَبِّنَا مَا ٱتَّخَذَ صَٰحِبَةٗ وَلَا وَلَدٗا
and that our Master’s majesty is great, and He did not take a spouse or a child
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 3
وَأَنَّهُۥ كَانَ يَقُولُ سَفِيهُنَا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ شَطَطٗا
and that the fools among us used to say outrageous (lies) about God
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 4
وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّآ أَن لَّن تَقُولَ ٱلۡإِنسُ وَٱلۡجِنُّ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبٗا
and that we assumed that humans and Jinn never lie about God
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 5
وَأَنَّهُۥ كَانَ رِجَالٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡإِنسِ يَعُوذُونَ بِرِجَالٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ فَزَادُوهُمۡ رَهَقٗا
And there were men among humans who were looking for protection of the Jinn's men, so they increased them in foolishness (and injustice)
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 6
وَأَنَّهُمۡ ظَنُّواْ كَمَا ظَنَنتُمۡ أَن لَّن يَبۡعَثَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٗا
And that they assumed as you assumed, that God never raises anyone
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 7
وَأَنَّا لَمَسۡنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ فَوَجَدۡنَٰهَا مُلِئَتۡ حَرَسٗا شَدِيدٗا وَشُهُبٗا
And that we touched the sky, then we found it filled with tough guards and shooting flames
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 8
وَأَنَّا كُنَّا نَقۡعُدُ مِنۡهَا مَقَٰعِدَ لِلسَّمۡعِۖ فَمَن يَسۡتَمِعِ ٱلۡأٓنَ يَجِدۡ لَهُۥ شِهَابٗا رَّصَدٗا
And that we used to sit in its seats for listening, but anyone who listens now finds a shooting flame waiting for him
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 9
وَأَنَّا لَا نَدۡرِيٓ أَشَرٌّ أُرِيدَ بِمَن فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَمۡ أَرَادَ بِهِمۡ رَبُّهُمۡ رَشَدٗا
And we do not know if badness is wanted for anyone on the earth or their Master wants a right way for them
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 10
وَأَنَّا مِنَّا ٱلصَّـٰلِحُونَ وَمِنَّا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَۖ كُنَّا طَرَآئِقَ قِدَدٗا
And that some of us are the righteous and some of us are otherwise, we are (following) different ways
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 11
وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّآ أَن لَّن نُّعۡجِزَ ٱللَّهَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَن نُّعۡجِزَهُۥ هَرَبٗا
And that we know that we will never incapacitate God on the earth, and we will never incapacitate Him by running away
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 12
وَأَنَّا لَمَّا سَمِعۡنَا ٱلۡهُدَىٰٓ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦۖ فَمَن يُؤۡمِنۢ بِرَبِّهِۦ فَلَا يَخَافُ بَخۡسٗا وَلَا رَهَقٗا
And that when we heard the guidance, we believed in it. Anyone who believes in his Master, then he should not be afraid of a reduced reward or any injustice
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 13
وَأَنَّا مِنَّا ٱلۡمُسۡلِمُونَ وَمِنَّا ٱلۡقَٰسِطُونَۖ فَمَنۡ أَسۡلَمَ فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ تَحَرَّوۡاْ رَشَدٗا
And that some of us are the submitted ones, and some of us are the unjust, so whoever submits (to God) then they pursue a right way
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 14
وَأَمَّا ٱلۡقَٰسِطُونَ فَكَانُواْ لِجَهَنَّمَ حَطَبٗا
And as for the unjust, they are fuel for hell
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 15
وَأَلَّوِ ٱسۡتَقَٰمُواْ عَلَى ٱلطَّرِيقَةِ لَأَسۡقَيۡنَٰهُم مَّآءً غَدَقٗا
And if they keep on the (right) way, then We give them plenty of water to drink (and plenty of wealth and provision)
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 16
لِّنَفۡتِنَهُمۡ فِيهِۚ وَمَن يُعۡرِضۡ عَن ذِكۡرِ رَبِّهِۦ يَسۡلُكۡهُ عَذَابٗا صَعَدٗا
so that We test them in it. And anyone who stays away from his Master's remembrance, He puts him in a terrible punishment
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 17
وَأَنَّ ٱلۡمَسَٰجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلَا تَدۡعُواْ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ أَحَدٗا
And that the places of worship belongs to God, so do not call on anyone with God
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 18
وَأَنَّهُۥ لَمَّا قَامَ عَبۡدُ ٱللَّهِ يَدۡعُوهُ كَادُواْ يَكُونُونَ عَلَيۡهِ لِبَدٗا
And that when God's servant stood up calling on Him, they almost mobbed him
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 19
قُلۡ إِنَّمَآ أَدۡعُواْ رَبِّي وَلَآ أُشۡرِكُ بِهِۦٓ أَحَدٗا
Say: I only call on my Master and I do not associate anyone with Him
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 20
قُلۡ إِنِّي لَآ أَمۡلِكُ لَكُمۡ ضَرّٗا وَلَا رَشَدٗا
Say: I do not have power of any harm or any benefit for you
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 21
قُلۡ إِنِّي لَن يُجِيرَنِي مِنَ ٱللَّهِ أَحَدٞ وَلَنۡ أَجِدَ مِن دُونِهِۦ مُلۡتَحَدًا
Say: Indeed no one will ever protect me from God, and I will never find any shelter other than Him
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 22
إِلَّا بَلَٰغٗا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِسَٰلَٰتِهِۦۚ وَمَن يَعۡصِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا
(I have not responsibility) except preaching from God and His message. And anyone who disobeys God and His messenger, then indeed fire of hell is for him, remaining in there forever
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 23
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا رَأَوۡاْ مَا يُوعَدُونَ فَسَيَعۡلَمُونَ مَنۡ أَضۡعَفُ نَاصِرٗا وَأَقَلُّ عَدَدٗا
Until when they see what they are promised, then they are going to know who is weaker in helper and fewer in number
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 24
قُلۡ إِنۡ أَدۡرِيٓ أَقَرِيبٞ مَّا تُوعَدُونَ أَمۡ يَجۡعَلُ لَهُۥ رَبِّيٓ أَمَدًا
Say: I do not know whether what you are promised is near or if my Master has set a far out time for it
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 25
عَٰلِمُ ٱلۡغَيۡبِ فَلَا يُظۡهِرُ عَلَىٰ غَيۡبِهِۦٓ أَحَدًا
Knower of the unseen, and He does not inform anyone of His unseen
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 26
إِلَّا مَنِ ٱرۡتَضَىٰ مِن رَّسُولٖ فَإِنَّهُۥ يَسۡلُكُ مِنۢ بَيۡنِ يَدَيۡهِ وَمِنۡ خَلۡفِهِۦ رَصَدٗا
except any messenger whom He approves, then He sends observers in front of him and behind him
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 27
لِّيَعۡلَمَ أَن قَدۡ أَبۡلَغُواْ رِسَٰلَٰتِ رَبِّهِمۡ وَأَحَاطَ بِمَا لَدَيۡهِمۡ وَأَحۡصَىٰ كُلَّ شَيۡءٍ عَدَدَۢا
so that He knows that they have preached their Master’s message, and He surrounds (and has full knowledge of) whatever is with them and He keeps count of everything
Surah Al-Jinn, Verse 28
