ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ
The All-Merciful
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 1
عَلَّمَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ
taught the Qur´an
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 2
خَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ
He created man
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 3
عَلَّمَهُ ٱلۡبَيَانَ
and taught him clear expression
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 4
ٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱلۡقَمَرُ بِحُسۡبَانٖ
The sun and the moon both run with precision
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 5
وَٱلنَّجۡمُ وَٱلشَّجَرُ يَسۡجُدَانِ
The shrubs and the trees all bow down in prostration
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 6
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ ٱلۡمِيزَانَ
He erected heaven and established the balance
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 7
أَلَّا تَطۡغَوۡاْ فِي ٱلۡمِيزَانِ
so that you would not transgress the balance
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 8
وَأَقِيمُواْ ٱلۡوَزۡنَ بِٱلۡقِسۡطِ وَلَا تُخۡسِرُواْ ٱلۡمِيزَانَ
Give just weight — do not skimp in the balance
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 9
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلۡأَنَامِ
He laid out the earth for all living creatures
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 10
فِيهَا فَٰكِهَةٞ وَٱلنَّخۡلُ ذَاتُ ٱلۡأَكۡمَامِ
In it are fruits and date-palms with covered spathes
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 11
وَٱلۡحَبُّ ذُو ٱلۡعَصۡفِ وَٱلرَّيۡحَانُ
and grains on leafy stems and fragrant herbs
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 12
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 13
خَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مِن صَلۡصَٰلٖ كَٱلۡفَخَّارِ
He created man from dry earth like baked clay
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 14
وَخَلَقَ ٱلۡجَآنَّ مِن مَّارِجٖ مِّن نَّارٖ
and He created the jinn from a fusion of fire
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 15
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 16
رَبُّ ٱلۡمَشۡرِقَيۡنِ وَرَبُّ ٱلۡمَغۡرِبَيۡنِ
The Lord of the two Easts and the Lord of the two Wests
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 17
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 18
مَرَجَ ٱلۡبَحۡرَيۡنِ يَلۡتَقِيَانِ
He has let loose the two seas, converging together
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 19
بَيۡنَهُمَا بَرۡزَخٞ لَّا يَبۡغِيَانِ
with a barrier between them they do not break through
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 20
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 21
يَخۡرُجُ مِنۡهُمَا ٱللُّؤۡلُؤُ وَٱلۡمَرۡجَانُ
From out of them come glistening pearls and coral
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 22
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 23
وَلَهُ ٱلۡجَوَارِ ٱلۡمُنشَـَٔاتُ فِي ٱلۡبَحۡرِ كَٱلۡأَعۡلَٰمِ
His, too, are the ships sailing like mountain peaks on the sea
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 24
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 25
كُلُّ مَنۡ عَلَيۡهَا فَانٖ
Everyone on it will pass away
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 26
وَيَبۡقَىٰ وَجۡهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو ٱلۡجَلَٰلِ وَٱلۡإِكۡرَامِ
but the Face of your Lord will remain, Master of Majesty and Generosity
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 27
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 28
يَسۡـَٔلُهُۥ مَن فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ كُلَّ يَوۡمٍ هُوَ فِي شَأۡنٖ
Everyone in the heavens and earth requests His aid. Every day He is engaged in some affair
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 29
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 30
سَنَفۡرُغُ لَكُمۡ أَيُّهَ ٱلثَّقَلَانِ
Soon We will settle your affairs, you two weighty throngs
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 31
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 32
يَٰمَعۡشَرَ ٱلۡجِنِّ وَٱلۡإِنسِ إِنِ ٱسۡتَطَعۡتُمۡ أَن تَنفُذُواْ مِنۡ أَقۡطَارِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَٱنفُذُواْۚ لَا تَنفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلۡطَٰنٖ
Company of jinn and men, if you are able to pierce through the confines of the heavens and earth, pierce through them. You will not pierce through except with a clear authority
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 33
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 34
يُرۡسَلُ عَلَيۡكُمَا شُوَاظٞ مِّن نَّارٖ وَنُحَاسٞ فَلَا تَنتَصِرَانِ
He will pursue you with a piercing flame and fiery smoke, and you will not be helped
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 35
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 36
فَإِذَا ٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتۡ وَرۡدَةٗ كَٱلدِّهَانِ
When heaven is split apart and goes red like dregs of oil
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 37
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 38
فَيَوۡمَئِذٖ لَّا يُسۡـَٔلُ عَن ذَنۢبِهِۦٓ إِنسٞ وَلَا جَآنّٞ
That Day no man or jinn will be asked about his sin
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 39
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 40
يُعۡرَفُ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ بِسِيمَٰهُمۡ فَيُؤۡخَذُ بِٱلنَّوَٰصِي وَٱلۡأَقۡدَامِ
The evildoers will be recognised by their mark and seized by their forelocks and their feet
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 41
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 42
هَٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِي يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ
This is Hell which the evildoers deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 43
يَطُوفُونَ بَيۡنَهَا وَبَيۡنَ حَمِيمٍ ءَانٖ
They will go back and forth between fire and scalding water
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 44
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 45
وَلِمَنۡ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ جَنَّتَانِ
For those who fear the Station of their Lord there are two Gardens
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 46
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 47
ذَوَاتَآ أَفۡنَانٖ
Shaded by spreading branches
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 48
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 49
فِيهِمَا عَيۡنَانِ تَجۡرِيَانِ
In them are two clear flowing springs
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 50
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 51
فِيهِمَا مِن كُلِّ فَٰكِهَةٖ زَوۡجَانِ
In them are two kinds of every fruit
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 52
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 53
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشِۭ بَطَآئِنُهَا مِنۡ إِسۡتَبۡرَقٖۚ وَجَنَى ٱلۡجَنَّتَيۡنِ دَانٖ
They will be reclining on couches lined with rich brocade, the fruits of the Gardens hanging close to hand
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 54
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 55
فِيهِنَّ قَٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرۡفِ لَمۡ يَطۡمِثۡهُنَّ إِنسٞ قَبۡلَهُمۡ وَلَا جَآنّٞ
In them are maidens with eyes for them alone, untouched before them by either man or jinn
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 56
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 57
كَأَنَّهُنَّ ٱلۡيَاقُوتُ وَٱلۡمَرۡجَانُ
Like precious gems of ruby and pearl
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 58
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 59
هَلۡ جَزَآءُ ٱلۡإِحۡسَٰنِ إِلَّا ٱلۡإِحۡسَٰنُ
Will the reward for doing good be anything other than good
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 60
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 61
وَمِن دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ
As well as those two there will be two other Gardens
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 62
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 63
مُدۡهَآمَّتَانِ
Of deep viridian green
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 64
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 65
فِيهِمَا عَيۡنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ
In them are two gushing springs
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 66
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 67
فِيهِمَا فَٰكِهَةٞ وَنَخۡلٞ وَرُمَّانٞ
In them are fruits and date-palms and pomegranates
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 68
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 69
فِيهِنَّ خَيۡرَٰتٌ حِسَانٞ
In them are sweet, lovely maidens
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 70
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 71
حُورٞ مَّقۡصُورَٰتٞ فِي ٱلۡخِيَامِ
Dark-eyed, secluded in cool pavilions
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 72
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 73
لَمۡ يَطۡمِثۡهُنَّ إِنسٞ قَبۡلَهُمۡ وَلَا جَآنّٞ
Untouched before them by either man or jinn
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 74
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 75
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ رَفۡرَفٍ خُضۡرٖ وَعَبۡقَرِيٍّ حِسَانٖ
Reclining on green quilts and exquisite rugs
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 76
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of your Lord´s blessings do you both then deny
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 77
تَبَٰرَكَ ٱسۡمُ رَبِّكَ ذِي ٱلۡجَلَٰلِ وَٱلۡإِكۡرَامِ
Blessed be the name of your Lord, Master of Majesty and Generosity
Surah Ar-Rahman, Verse 78
