Surah Adh-Dhariyat - English Translation by The Monotheist Group Edition
وَٱلذَّـٰرِيَٰتِ ذَرۡوٗا
By the winds that blow
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 1
فَٱلۡحَٰمِلَٰتِ وِقۡرٗا
Carrying rain
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 2
فَٱلۡجَٰرِيَٰتِ يُسۡرٗا
Traveling easily
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 3
فَٱلۡمُقَسِّمَٰتِ أَمۡرًا
Distributing as commanded
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 4
إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَصَادِقٞ
What you are being promised is true
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 5
وَإِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ لَوَٰقِعٞ
And the Judgment will come to pass
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 6
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡحُبُكِ
By the heaven that is woven
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 7
إِنَّكُمۡ لَفِي قَوۡلٖ مُّخۡتَلِفٖ
You are saying what is different
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 8
يُؤۡفَكُ عَنۡهُ مَنۡ أُفِكَ
To mislead those who are misled
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 9
قُتِلَ ٱلۡخَرَّـٰصُونَ
Woe to the deceitful
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 10
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ فِي غَمۡرَةٖ سَاهُونَ
Who are in mischief, unaware
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 11
يَسۡـَٔلُونَ أَيَّانَ يَوۡمُ ٱلدِّينِ
They ask: "When is the Day of Recompense
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 12
يَوۡمَ هُمۡ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ يُفۡتَنُونَ
The Day they ordeal upon the Fire
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 13
ذُوقُواْ فِتۡنَتَكُمۡ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَ
Taste this ordeal of yours; this is what you asked to be hastened
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 14
إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّـٰتٖ وَعُيُونٍ
The righteous are in gardens and springs
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 15
ءَاخِذِينَ مَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمۡ رَبُّهُمۡۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَبۡلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُحۡسِنِينَ
Receiving what their Lord has bestowed to them, for they were before that pious
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 16
كَانُواْ قَلِيلٗا مِّنَ ٱلَّيۡلِ مَا يَهۡجَعُونَ
They used to rarely sleep the whole night
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 17
وَبِٱلۡأَسۡحَارِ هُمۡ يَسۡتَغۡفِرُونَ
And before dawn, they would seek forgiveness
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 18
وَفِيٓ أَمۡوَٰلِهِمۡ حَقّٞ لِّلسَّآئِلِ وَٱلۡمَحۡرُومِ
An in their money was a portion for the beggar and the needy
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 19
وَفِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ءَايَٰتٞ لِّلۡمُوقِنِينَ
And on the earth are signs for those who comprehend
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 20
وَفِيٓ أَنفُسِكُمۡۚ أَفَلَا تُبۡصِرُونَ
And within yourselves; do you not see
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 21
وَفِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ رِزۡقُكُمۡ وَمَا تُوعَدُونَ
And in the heaven is your provision, and what you are promised
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 22
فَوَرَبِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ إِنَّهُۥ لَحَقّٞ مِّثۡلَ مَآ أَنَّكُمۡ تَنطِقُونَ
By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is truth just as the fact that you speak
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 23
هَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ضَيۡفِ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ ٱلۡمُكۡرَمِينَ
Has the narrative of the noble guests of Abraham come to you
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 24
إِذۡ دَخَلُواْ عَلَيۡهِ فَقَالُواْ سَلَٰمٗاۖ قَالَ سَلَٰمٞ قَوۡمٞ مُّنكَرُونَ
When they entered upon him, they said: "Peace." He said: "Peace to a people unknown
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 25
فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ فَجَآءَ بِعِجۡلٖ سَمِينٖ
Then he went to his family and brought a fat calf
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 26
فَقَرَّبَهُۥٓ إِلَيۡهِمۡ قَالَ أَلَا تَأۡكُلُونَ
He offered it to them, he said: "Do you not eat
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 27
فَأَوۡجَسَ مِنۡهُمۡ خِيفَةٗۖ قَالُواْ لَا تَخَفۡۖ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَٰمٍ عَلِيمٖ
He then became fearful of them. They said: "Do not fear," and they gave him good news of a knowledgeable son
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 28
فَأَقۡبَلَتِ ٱمۡرَأَتُهُۥ فِي صَرَّةٖ فَصَكَّتۡ وَجۡهَهَا وَقَالَتۡ عَجُوزٌ عَقِيمٞ
His wife then approached in amazement. She slapped upon her face, and said: "A barren old woman
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 29
قَالُواْ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
They said: "It was such that your Lord has said. He is the Wise, the Knowledgeable
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 30
۞قَالَ فَمَا خَطۡبُكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ
He said: "What is your undertaking, O messengers
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 31
قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّآ أُرۡسِلۡنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمٖ مُّجۡرِمِينَ
They said: "We have been sent to a criminal people
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 32
لِنُرۡسِلَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ حِجَارَةٗ مِّن طِينٖ
To send down upon them stones of clay
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 33
مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلۡمُسۡرِفِينَ
Prepared by your Lord for the transgressors
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 34
فَأَخۡرَجۡنَا مَن كَانَ فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
We then vacated from it all the believers
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 35
فَمَا وَجَدۡنَا فِيهَا غَيۡرَ بَيۡتٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ
But We only found in it one house of those who had submitted
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 36
وَتَرَكۡنَا فِيهَآ ءَايَةٗ لِّلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلۡأَلِيمَ
And We left in it a sign for those who fear the painful retribution
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 37
وَفِي مُوسَىٰٓ إِذۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَٰهُ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ بِسُلۡطَٰنٖ مُّبِينٖ
And also Moses, for We sent him to Pharaoh with a clear authority
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 38
فَتَوَلَّىٰ بِرُكۡنِهِۦ وَقَالَ سَٰحِرٌ أَوۡ مَجۡنُونٞ
But he and his camp turned away, and said: "A magician, or crazy
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 39
فَأَخَذۡنَٰهُ وَجُنُودَهُۥ فَنَبَذۡنَٰهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡيَمِّ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٞ
So We took him and his troops; We cast them into the sea, and he was to blame
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 40
وَفِي عَادٍ إِذۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلرِّيحَ ٱلۡعَقِيمَ
And also 'Aad, for We sent upon them the barren wind
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 41
مَا تَذَرُ مِن شَيۡءٍ أَتَتۡ عَلَيۡهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَتۡهُ كَٱلرَّمِيمِ
Anything that it came upon was utterly destroyed
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 42
وَفِي ثَمُودَ إِذۡ قِيلَ لَهُمۡ تَمَتَّعُواْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٖ
And also Thamud, for it was said to them: "Enjoy for a while
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 43
فَعَتَوۡاْ عَنۡ أَمۡرِ رَبِّهِمۡ فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّـٰعِقَةُ وَهُمۡ يَنظُرُونَ
But they rebelled against the command of their Lord. So the lightning struck them while they were looking
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 44
فَمَا ٱسۡتَطَٰعُواْ مِن قِيَامٖ وَمَا كَانُواْ مُنتَصِرِينَ
They were unable to rise up, nor could they win
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 45
وَقَوۡمَ نُوحٖ مِّن قَبۡلُۖ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَوۡمٗا فَٰسِقِينَ
And the people of Noah before; they were a wicked people
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 46
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بَنَيۡنَٰهَا بِأَيۡيْدٖ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ
And the heaven We constructed with resources, and We are expanding it
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 47
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ فَرَشۡنَٰهَا فَنِعۡمَ ٱلۡمَٰهِدُونَ
And the earth We furnished; so glory to the Makers
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 48
وَمِن كُلِّ شَيۡءٍ خَلَقۡنَا زَوۡجَيۡنِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَذَكَّرُونَ
And of everything We created a pair, perhaps you may remember
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 49
فَفِرُّوٓاْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِۖ إِنِّي لَكُم مِّنۡهُ نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٞ
So turn towards God. I am to you from Him a clear warner
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 50
وَلَا تَجۡعَلُواْ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَۖ إِنِّي لَكُم مِّنۡهُ نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٞ
And do not make any other god with God. I am to you from Him a clear warner
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 51
كَذَٰلِكَ مَآ أَتَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا قَالُواْ سَاحِرٌ أَوۡ مَجۡنُونٌ
Likewise, when a messenger went to those before them, they said: "A magician, or crazy
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 52
أَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِهِۦۚ بَلۡ هُمۡ قَوۡمٞ طَاغُونَ
Have they passed down this saying to each other? Indeed, they are a wicked people
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 53
فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِمَلُومٖ
So turn away from them; you will not be blamed
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 54
وَذَكِّرۡ فَإِنَّ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ تَنفَعُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
And remind, for the reminder benefits the believers
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 55
وَمَا خَلَقۡتُ ٱلۡجِنَّ وَٱلۡإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُونِ
I did not create the Jinn and mankind except to serve Me
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 56
مَآ أُرِيدُ مِنۡهُم مِّن رِّزۡقٖ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَن يُطۡعِمُونِ
I need no provisions from them, nor do I need them to give food
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 57
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلرَّزَّاقُ ذُو ٱلۡقُوَّةِ ٱلۡمَتِينُ
God is the Provider, the One with Power, the Supreme
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 58
فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ ذَنُوبٗا مِّثۡلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصۡحَٰبِهِمۡ فَلَا يَسۡتَعۡجِلُونِ
The transgressors will have the same fate as their previous friends; so let them not be hasty
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 59
فَوَيۡلٞ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن يَوۡمِهِمُ ٱلَّذِي يُوعَدُونَ
So woe to those who rejected from the Day that is waiting for them
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 60
