Surah Adh-Dhariyat - English Translation by Ali Bakhtiari Nejad
وَٱلذَّـٰرِيَٰتِ ذَرۡوٗا
By the scattering (winds) that scatters
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 1
فَٱلۡحَٰمِلَٰتِ وِقۡرٗا
and by the carriers of a heavy load (of rain)
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 2
فَٱلۡجَٰرِيَٰتِ يُسۡرٗا
and by the (ships) sailing with ease
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 3
فَٱلۡمُقَسِّمَٰتِ أَمۡرًا
and by the distributor of affair (the angels)
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 4
إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَصَادِقٞ
what you are promised is certainly true
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 5
وَإِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ لَوَٰقِعٞ
and the judgment is certainly a reality
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 6
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡحُبُكِ
And by the sky having pathways (and orbits)
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 7
إِنَّكُمۡ لَفِي قَوۡلٖ مُّخۡتَلِفٖ
indeed you are of different opinion
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 8
يُؤۡفَكُ عَنۡهُ مَنۡ أُفِكَ
Anyone who is deviated, he is deviated from it (Quran and the truth)
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 9
قُتِلَ ٱلۡخَرَّـٰصُونَ
Death to the liars (and conjecturers)
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 10
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ فِي غَمۡرَةٖ سَاهُونَ
Those who are neglectful in a flood (of ignorance)
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 11
يَسۡـَٔلُونَ أَيَّانَ يَوۡمُ ٱلدِّينِ
They ask: when is the judgment day
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 12
يَوۡمَ هُمۡ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ يُفۡتَنُونَ
A day that they are tortured over the fire
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 13
ذُوقُواْ فِتۡنَتَكُمۡ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَ
Taste (the result of) your trial, this is what you used to want it in a hurry
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 14
إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّـٰتٖ وَعُيُونٍ
Indeed those who control themselves are in gardens and springs
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 15
ءَاخِذِينَ مَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمۡ رَبُّهُمۡۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَبۡلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُحۡسِنِينَ
Taking what their Master gave them. Indeed they were good doers before this
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 16
كَانُواْ قَلِيلٗا مِّنَ ٱلَّيۡلِ مَا يَهۡجَعُونَ
They used to sleep a little of the night
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 17
وَبِٱلۡأَسۡحَارِ هُمۡ يَسۡتَغۡفِرُونَ
and they ask forgiveness by the dawns
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 18
وَفِيٓ أَمۡوَٰلِهِمۡ حَقّٞ لِّلسَّآئِلِ وَٱلۡمَحۡرُومِ
and there was a (portion) in their wealth due for the beggars and the disadvantaged
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 19
وَفِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ءَايَٰتٞ لِّلۡمُوقِنِينَ
And there are signs for those who are certain on the earth
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 20
وَفِيٓ أَنفُسِكُمۡۚ أَفَلَا تُبۡصِرُونَ
and in yourselves. Do you not see
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 21
وَفِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ رِزۡقُكُمۡ وَمَا تُوعَدُونَ
And your provision and what you are promised is in the sky
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 22
فَوَرَبِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ إِنَّهُۥ لَحَقّٞ مِّثۡلَ مَآ أَنَّكُمۡ تَنطِقُونَ
By the Master of the skies and the earth, it is certainly true, same as (it is true that) you speak
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 23
هَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ضَيۡفِ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ ٱلۡمُكۡرَمِينَ
Did the story of the noble guests of Abraham reach you
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 24
إِذۡ دَخَلُواْ عَلَيۡهِ فَقَالُواْ سَلَٰمٗاۖ قَالَ سَلَٰمٞ قَوۡمٞ مُّنكَرُونَ
When they entered upon him and they said: peace (and well-being). He said: peace (and well-being) strangers
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 25
فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ فَجَآءَ بِعِجۡلٖ سَمِينٖ
Then he went to his family and brought a fat (roasted) calf
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 26
فَقَرَّبَهُۥٓ إِلَيۡهِمۡ قَالَ أَلَا تَأۡكُلُونَ
Then he placed it close to them saying: do you not eat
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 27
فَأَوۡجَسَ مِنۡهُمۡ خِيفَةٗۖ قَالُواْ لَا تَخَفۡۖ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَٰمٍ عَلِيمٖ
Then he felt afraid of them, they said: do not be afraid. And they gave him good news of a knowledgeable son
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 28
فَأَقۡبَلَتِ ٱمۡرَأَتُهُۥ فِي صَرَّةٖ فَصَكَّتۡ وَجۡهَهَا وَقَالَتۡ عَجُوزٌ عَقِيمٞ
Then his wife came forward screaming, striking her face, and she said: I am an infertile old woman
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 29
قَالُواْ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
They said: that is what your Master said, indeed He is the wise, the knowledgeable
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 30
۞قَالَ فَمَا خَطۡبُكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ
He said: you messengers, so what is your business
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 31
قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّآ أُرۡسِلۡنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمٖ مُّجۡرِمِينَ
They said: we were sent to a group of guilty ones
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 32
لِنُرۡسِلَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ حِجَارَةٗ مِّن طِينٖ
so that we send upon them stones of clay
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 33
مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلۡمُسۡرِفِينَ
marked by your Master for the excessive ones
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 34
فَأَخۡرَجۡنَا مَن كَانَ فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
So We brought out anyone who was among the believers in it
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 35
فَمَا وَجَدۡنَا فِيهَا غَيۡرَ بَيۡتٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ
But We only found a house of the submitted ones in it
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 36
وَتَرَكۡنَا فِيهَآ ءَايَةٗ لِّلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلۡأَلِيمَ
And We left a sign in it for those who fear the painful punishment
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 37
وَفِي مُوسَىٰٓ إِذۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَٰهُ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ بِسُلۡطَٰنٖ مُّبِينٖ
And in (the story of) Moses when We sent him to Pharaoh with a clear authorization
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 38
فَتَوَلَّىٰ بِرُكۡنِهِۦ وَقَالَ سَٰحِرٌ أَوۡ مَجۡنُونٞ
Then he turned away with his base (of supporters) and said: a magician or a madman
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 39
فَأَخَذۡنَٰهُ وَجُنُودَهُۥ فَنَبَذۡنَٰهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡيَمِّ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٞ
So We took him and his troops, then We threw them in the sea, and he was to blame
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 40
وَفِي عَادٍ إِذۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلرِّيحَ ٱلۡعَقِيمَ
And in (the story of) Aad when We sent upon them the destructive wind
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 41
مَا تَذَرُ مِن شَيۡءٍ أَتَتۡ عَلَيۡهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَتۡهُ كَٱلرَّمِيمِ
It did not leave anything that it came upon it, except making it as the decomposed thing
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 42
وَفِي ثَمُودَ إِذۡ قِيلَ لَهُمۡ تَمَتَّعُواْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٖ
And (the story of) Thamud when they were told: enjoy yourselves for a while
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 43
فَعَتَوۡاْ عَنۡ أَمۡرِ رَبِّهِمۡ فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّـٰعِقَةُ وَهُمۡ يَنظُرُونَ
Then they rebelled against their Master’s command, so the thunderbolt took them while they were looking
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 44
فَمَا ٱسۡتَطَٰعُواْ مِن قِيَامٖ وَمَا كَانُواْ مُنتَصِرِينَ
Then they could not stand up and they could not take revenge (or defend)
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 45
وَقَوۡمَ نُوحٖ مِّن قَبۡلُۖ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَوۡمٗا فَٰسِقِينَ
And people of Noah in the past, indeed they were disobedient people
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 46
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بَنَيۡنَٰهَا بِأَيۡيْدٖ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ
We built the sky with Our power and We are certainly expanding (it)
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 47
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ فَرَشۡنَٰهَا فَنِعۡمَ ٱلۡمَٰهِدُونَ
And We spread out the earth, and how good We spread out
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 48
وَمِن كُلِّ شَيۡءٍ خَلَقۡنَا زَوۡجَيۡنِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَذَكَّرُونَ
And We created pairs of everything, so you may take notice
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 49
فَفِرُّوٓاْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِۖ إِنِّي لَكُم مِّنۡهُ نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٞ
So run away to God. Indeed I am a clear warner for you from Him
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 50
وَلَا تَجۡعَلُواْ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَۖ إِنِّي لَكُم مِّنۡهُ نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٞ
And do not set up another god with God. Indeed I am a clear warner for you from Him
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 51
كَذَٰلِكَ مَآ أَتَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا قَالُواْ سَاحِرٌ أَوۡ مَجۡنُونٌ
Likewise, no messenger came to those before them unless they said: a magician or a madman
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 52
أَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِهِۦۚ بَلۡ هُمۡ قَوۡمٞ طَاغُونَ
Did they recommend (one another) to it? No, they are rebellious people
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 53
فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِمَلُومٖ
So turn away from them, you are not to blame
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 54
وَذَكِّرۡ فَإِنَّ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ تَنفَعُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
And (continue to) remind, as indeed the reminder benefits the believers
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 55
وَمَا خَلَقۡتُ ٱلۡجِنَّ وَٱلۡإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُونِ
And I did not create Jinn and humans except to serve Me (and no one else)
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 56
مَآ أُرِيدُ مِنۡهُم مِّن رِّزۡقٖ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَن يُطۡعِمُونِ
I do not want any provision from them and I do not want them to feed Me
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 57
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلرَّزَّاقُ ذُو ٱلۡقُوَّةِ ٱلۡمَتِينُ
Indeed God is the provider having the power and the definitive strength
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 58
فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ ذَنُوبٗا مِّثۡلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصۡحَٰبِهِمۡ فَلَا يَسۡتَعۡجِلُونِ
So indeed there are shares (of punishment) for those who did wrong same as shares of their companions, so they should not ask Me to rush
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 59
فَوَيۡلٞ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن يَوۡمِهِمُ ٱلَّذِي يُوعَدُونَ
So woe to those who disbelieved from their day that they are promised
Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 60
