Surah Al-Ala - English Translation by Mufti Taqi Usmani
سَبِّحِ ٱسۡمَ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡأَعۡلَى
Pronounce the purity of the name of your most exalted Lord
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 1
ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ
who created (everything), then made (it) well
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 2
وَٱلَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ
and who determined a measure (for everything), then guided (it)
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 3
وَٱلَّذِيٓ أَخۡرَجَ ٱلۡمَرۡعَىٰ
and who brought forth pasturage
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 4
فَجَعَلَهُۥ غُثَآءً أَحۡوَىٰ
then turned it into a blackening stubble
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 5
سَنُقۡرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰٓ
We will make you recite, then you will not forget
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 6
إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُۚ إِنَّهُۥ يَعۡلَمُ ٱلۡجَهۡرَ وَمَا يَخۡفَىٰ
except that which Allah wills. Indeed He knows what is manifest and what is hidden
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 7
وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلۡيُسۡرَىٰ
And We will facilitate for you (to reach) the easiest way
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 8
فَذَكِّرۡ إِن نَّفَعَتِ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ
So, extend advice (to people) if advice is useful
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 9
سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخۡشَىٰ
The one who fears (Allah) will observe the advice
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 10
وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا ٱلۡأَشۡقَى
and it will be avoided by the most wretched one
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 11
ٱلَّذِي يَصۡلَى ٱلنَّارَ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰ
who will enter the Biggest Fire
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 12
ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحۡيَىٰ
then he will neither die therein, nor live (a desirable life)
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 13
قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ
Success is surely achieved by him who purifies himself
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 14
وَذَكَرَ ٱسۡمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ
and pronounces the name of his Lord, then offers prayer
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 15
بَلۡ تُؤۡثِرُونَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا
But you prefer the worldly life
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 16
وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةُ خَيۡرٞ وَأَبۡقَىٰٓ
while the Hereafter is much better and much more durable
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 17
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِي ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ
Indeed this is (written) in the earlier divine scripts
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 18
صُحُفِ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ
the scripts of Ibrāhīm and Mūsā
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 19
