Surah Al-Ala - English Translation by Mir Aneesuddin
سَبِّحِ ٱسۡمَ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡأَعۡلَى
                  Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High                  
                  Surah Al-Ala, Verse 1
                
ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ
                  Who created then set the equilibrium                  
                  Surah Al-Ala, Verse 2
                
وَٱلَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ
                  and Who programmed then guided (to the programme)                  
                  Surah Al-Ala, Verse 3
                
وَٱلَّذِيٓ أَخۡرَجَ ٱلۡمَرۡعَىٰ
                  And Who brought forth the pasture                  
                  Surah Al-Ala, Verse 4
                
فَجَعَلَهُۥ غُثَآءً أَحۡوَىٰ
                  then made it dust coloured rubbish                  
                  Surah Al-Ala, Verse 5
                
سَنُقۡرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰٓ
                  We will make you recite, so that you will not forget                  
                  Surah Al-Ala, Verse 6
                
إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُۚ إِنَّهُۥ يَعۡلَمُ ٱلۡجَهۡرَ وَمَا يَخۡفَىٰ
                  except that which God wills, He certainly knows the manifest and (also) that which is hidden                  
                  Surah Al-Ala, Verse 7
                
وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلۡيُسۡرَىٰ
                  And We will make your (way) easy for the easy (way)                  
                  Surah Al-Ala, Verse 8
                
فَذَكِّرۡ إِن نَّفَعَتِ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ
                  So remind, if reminding is profitable                  
                  Surah Al-Ala, Verse 9
                
سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخۡشَىٰ
                  he who fears will be reminded                  
                  Surah Al-Ala, Verse 10
                
وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا ٱلۡأَشۡقَى
                  and he who is unfortunate will turn away from it                  
                  Surah Al-Ala, Verse 11
                
ٱلَّذِي يَصۡلَى ٱلنَّارَ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰ
                  he who will enter the great fire                  
                  Surah Al-Ala, Verse 12
                
ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحۡيَىٰ
                  then he will neither die therein nor live                  
                  Surah Al-Ala, Verse 13
                
قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ
                  He succeeds who purifies himself                  
                  Surah Al-Ala, Verse 14
                
وَذَكَرَ ٱسۡمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ
                  and remembers the name of his Lord, then worships (offers salat)                  
                  Surah Al-Ala, Verse 15
                
بَلۡ تُؤۡثِرُونَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا
                  No, you prefer the life of this world                  
                  Surah Al-Ala, Verse 16
                
وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةُ خَيۡرٞ وَأَبۡقَىٰٓ
                  while the hereafter is better and that which remains                  
                  Surah Al-Ala, Verse 17
                
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِي ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ
                  This is certainly there in the earlier books (too)                  
                  Surah Al-Ala, Verse 18
                
صُحُفِ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ
                  books of lbrahim and Moses                  
                  Surah Al-Ala, Verse 19
