Surah Al-Ala - English Translation by Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim
سَبِّحِ ٱسۡمَ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡأَعۡلَى
Glorify the Name of Allah, your Creator, the Supreme
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 1
ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ
Who created all beings and made them well proportioned, and kept the creation in equilibrium
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 2
وَٱلَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ
Who guided every being to its befitting course and endowed all beings with the impulses determining their direction to a definite end, and He has indicated to man the path of misery and that of happiness and left him to choose his way
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 3
وَٱلَّذِيٓ أَخۡرَجَ ٱلۡمَرۡعَىٰ
Who also brings forth the vegetation
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 4
فَجَعَلَهُۥ غُثَآءً أَحۡوَىٰ
Then He makes it decay and causes its degeneration
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 5
سَنُقۡرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰٓ
We shall make you recite so that you will not forget
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 6
إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُۚ إِنَّهُۥ يَعۡلَمُ ٱلۡجَهۡرَ وَمَا يَخۡفَىٰ
Except as Allah will repeal at a later date; He knows what is avowed openly and the open course of action, and He knows what the breasts forge and what they store of thoughts and feelings and all that is suggested secretly to the mind and He knows all that you do out of sight
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 7
وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلۡيُسۡرَىٰ
We shall facilitate your task and lead you to the facile and ready course
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 8
فَذَكِّرۡ إِن نَّفَعَتِ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ
And so, exhort. any who is willing to open his heart's ears and favourably responds
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 9
سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخۡشَىٰ
The responsive will be he who reveres Allah with bosom filled with reverential awe
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 10
وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا ٱلۡأَشۡقَى
And it -the admonition- will be avoided and unwelcomed by the ill- omened, the unfortunate against whom have been denounced curses and woe
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 11
ٱلَّذِي يَصۡلَى ٱلنَّارَ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰ
Who will suffer in Hell the immense fire
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 12
ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحۡيَىٰ
Wherein he does not die nor live or respire
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 13
قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ
But blessed, indeed, is he who vindicates his own wrongs and is kindly disposed to benevolence
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 14
وَذَكَرَ ٱسۡمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ
Who calls Allah his Creator, to mind and engages in the act of worship, doing to Him sincere reverence
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 15
بَلۡ تُؤۡثِرُونَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا
But you people prefer the life here afore the heavenly b1iss, knowing it is illusive and alluring
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 16
وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةُ خَيۡرٞ وَأَبۡقَىٰٓ
While the Hereafter is far better, blissful, infinitely lasting and enduring
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 17
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِي ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ
This indeed, has been emphasized in the earlier Scriptures
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 18
صُحُفِ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ
The Scriptures of Ibrahim and Mussa
Surah Al-Ala, Verse 19
