Surah Al-Insan - English Translation by Mir Anees Original

هَلۡ أَتَىٰ عَلَى ٱلۡإِنسَٰنِ حِينٞ مِّنَ ٱلدَّهۡرِ لَمۡ يَكُن شَيۡـٔٗا مَّذۡكُورًا

There has passed on man a period of time when he was not a thing (worth) a discussion
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 1

إِنَّا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مِن نُّطۡفَةٍ أَمۡشَاجٖ نَّبۡتَلِيهِ فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُ سَمِيعَۢا بَصِيرًا

We certainly created man from a sperm mingled (with egg) to test him, therefore We made him hearing, seeing
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 2

إِنَّا هَدَيۡنَٰهُ ٱلسَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرٗا وَإِمَّا كَفُورًا

We have shown him the way (now it is left to him) whether he becomes one who gratefully accepts or becomes one who ungratefully rejects (it)
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 3

إِنَّآ أَعۡتَدۡنَا لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ سَلَٰسِلَاْ وَأَغۡلَٰلٗا وَسَعِيرًا

We have prepared for the infidels, chains and yokes and a blazing fire
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 4

إِنَّ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارَ يَشۡرَبُونَ مِن كَأۡسٖ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا

And the righteous will certainly drink from a cup, the admixture of which will be kafur
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 5

عَيۡنٗا يَشۡرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ ٱللَّهِ يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفۡجِيرٗا

a spring from which the servants of Allah will drink, they will make it to gush forth, a gushing forth
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 6

يُوفُونَ بِٱلنَّذۡرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوۡمٗا كَانَ شَرُّهُۥ مُسۡتَطِيرٗا

They fulfil their vows and fear a day, the evil of which will spread far and wide
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 7

وَيُطۡعِمُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ مِسۡكِينٗا وَيَتِيمٗا وَأَسِيرًا

And they feed for His love, the poor and the orphan and the prisoner, with food
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 8

إِنَّمَا نُطۡعِمُكُمۡ لِوَجۡهِ ٱللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمۡ جَزَآءٗ وَلَا شُكُورًا

(saying), “We feed you only (to seek the) Attention of Allah, we do not intend (to receive) any reward from you nor (even your) thanks
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 9

إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا يَوۡمًا عَبُوسٗا قَمۡطَرِيرٗا

We certainly fear from our Fosterer, a distressful day of frowning.”
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 10

فَوَقَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ شَرَّ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡيَوۡمِ وَلَقَّىٰهُمۡ نَضۡرَةٗ وَسُرُورٗا

So Allah will save them from the evil of that day and He will make them to meet radiant happiness and joy
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 11

وَجَزَىٰهُم بِمَا صَبَرُواْ جَنَّةٗ وَحَرِيرٗا

and reward them with a garden and (garments of) silk, because they were patient
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 12

مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ فِيهَا عَلَى ٱلۡأَرَآئِكِۖ لَا يَرَوۡنَ فِيهَا شَمۡسٗا وَلَا زَمۡهَرِيرٗا

reclining therein on couches, they will neither see the sun nor (experience) intense cold therein
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 13

وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيۡهِمۡ ظِلَٰلُهَا وَذُلِّلَتۡ قُطُوفُهَا تَذۡلِيلٗا

And the shades of the (garden) will be near above them and the clusters of it will be made to hang low (being in their reach)
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 14

وَيُطَافُ عَلَيۡهِم بِـَٔانِيَةٖ مِّن فِضَّةٖ وَأَكۡوَابٖ كَانَتۡ قَوَارِيرَا۠

And goblets of silver and cups of (transparent) glass will be made to go round about them, (they will be)
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 15

قَوَارِيرَاْ مِن فِضَّةٖ قَدَّرُوهَا تَقۡدِيرٗا

(transparent as) glass (but made) of silver*, which are measured according to a measure. * Probably photo chromatic glasses containing silver halides which darken in sunlight and bleach in dark
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 16

وَيُسۡقَوۡنَ فِيهَا كَأۡسٗا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنجَبِيلًا

And they will be made to drink therein, a cup, the admixture of which will be Zanjabil
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 17

عَيۡنٗا فِيهَا تُسَمَّىٰ سَلۡسَبِيلٗا

a spring therein, which is named Salsabil
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 18

۞وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وِلۡدَٰنٞ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيۡتَهُمۡ حَسِبۡتَهُمۡ لُؤۡلُؤٗا مَّنثُورٗا

Youths always staying (in attendance) will go round them. When you see them, you will think them to be scattered pearls
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 19

وَإِذَا رَأَيۡتَ ثَمَّ رَأَيۡتَ نَعِيمٗا وَمُلۡكٗا كَبِيرًا

And when (ever) you see, there you will see (only) excellence and a great kingdom
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 20

عَٰلِيَهُمۡ ثِيَابُ سُندُسٍ خُضۡرٞ وَإِسۡتَبۡرَقٞۖ وَحُلُّوٓاْ أَسَاوِرَ مِن فِضَّةٖ وَسَقَىٰهُمۡ رَبُّهُمۡ شَرَابٗا طَهُورًا

Upon them will be garments of fine green silk and thick silk interwoven with gold, and they will be adorned with brackets of silver and their Fosterer will make them drink a clean drink
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 21

إِنَّ هَٰذَا كَانَ لَكُمۡ جَزَآءٗ وَكَانَ سَعۡيُكُم مَّشۡكُورًا

This is certainly a reward for you, and your striving will be acknowledged
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 22

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا عَلَيۡكَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ تَنزِيلٗا

We have sent down the Quran on you, sending (it) down gradually
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 23

فَٱصۡبِرۡ لِحُكۡمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعۡ مِنۡهُمۡ ءَاثِمًا أَوۡ كَفُورٗا

So wait patiently for the command of your Fosterer, and do not obey any sinner or any infidel among them
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 24

وَٱذۡكُرِ ٱسۡمَ رَبِّكَ بُكۡرَةٗ وَأَصِيلٗا

And remember the name of your Fosterer, morning and evening
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 25

وَمِنَ ٱلَّيۡلِ فَٱسۡجُدۡ لَهُۥ وَسَبِّحۡهُ لَيۡلٗا طَوِيلًا

and during (part) of the night, prostrate before Him, and glorify Him (during) a long (portion of the) night
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 26

إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ يُحِبُّونَ ٱلۡعَاجِلَةَ وَيَذَرُونَ وَرَآءَهُمۡ يَوۡمٗا ثَقِيلٗا

These certainly love that which hastens away (life of this world) and put away behind them (the thought of) a weighty day
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 27

نَّحۡنُ خَلَقۡنَٰهُمۡ وَشَدَدۡنَآ أَسۡرَهُمۡۖ وَإِذَا شِئۡنَا بَدَّلۡنَآ أَمۡثَٰلَهُمۡ تَبۡدِيلًا

We have created them and We have strengthened their frame and when We will We can bring in their place (others) like them, changing (completely)
Surah Al-Insan, Verse 28
