Surah Al-Mutaffifin - English Translation by Mir Anees Original
وَيۡلٞ لِّلۡمُطَفِّفِينَ
Sorrowful is the state of those who measure and weigh less than what is due
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 1
ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ٱكۡتَالُواْ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ يَسۡتَوۡفُونَ
those who, when they take by measure from other people, they take in full
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 2
وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمۡ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمۡ يُخۡسِرُونَ
but when they measure or weigh for others, they make it less than what is due
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 3
أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبۡعُوثُونَ
Do they not expect that they will be raised (after their death)
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 4
لِيَوۡمٍ عَظِيمٖ
for a great day
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 5
يَوۡمَ يَقُومُ ٱلنَّاسُ لِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
the day mankind will stand before the Fosterer of the worlds
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 6
كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ ٱلۡفُجَّارِ لَفِي سِجِّينٖ
No, certainly the record of (deeds) of the transgressors will be in Sijjin
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 7
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا سِجِّينٞ
And what will make you realize what Sijjin is
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 8
كِتَٰبٞ مَّرۡقُومٞ
(It is a) written record
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 9
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Sorrowful will be the state on that day, of the deniers
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 10
ٱلَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ
who deny the day of judgment
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 11
وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِۦٓ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعۡتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ
And no one denies it except every exceeder of limits, a sinner
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 12
إِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
When Our signs are read to him, he says, “Ancient stories.”
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 13
كَلَّاۖ بَلۡۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ
No, but that which they have earned is rust on their hearts
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 14
كَلَّآ إِنَّهُمۡ عَن رَّبِّهِمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لَّمَحۡجُوبُونَ
No, on that day they will certainly be curtained from their Fosterer
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 15
ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمۡ لَصَالُواْ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ
then they will certainly enter the hell
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 16
ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ
then it will be said, “This is that which you made a denial of.”
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 17
كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارِ لَفِي عِلِّيِّينَ
No, certainly the record of (deeds of) the righteous will be in Illiyin
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 18
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ
and what will make you realize what Illiyun is
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 19
كِتَٰبٞ مَّرۡقُومٞ
(It is a) written record
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 20
يَشۡهَدُهُ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ
Those who are brought near will witness it
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 21
إِنَّ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ
The righteous will certainly be in bliss
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 22
عَلَى ٱلۡأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ
They will be seeing (reclining) on couches
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 23
تَعۡرِفُ فِي وُجُوهِهِمۡ نَضۡرَةَ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
You will recognize in their faces, radiance of bliss
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 24
يُسۡقَوۡنَ مِن رَّحِيقٖ مَّخۡتُومٍ
They will be given to drink from a pure drink, sealed
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 25
خِتَٰمُهُۥ مِسۡكٞۚ وَفِي ذَٰلِكَ فَلۡيَتَنَافَسِ ٱلۡمُتَنَٰفِسُونَ
The seal of which is of musk. So let those who wish to put in conscious effort, put in a conscious effort for that
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 26
وَمِزَاجُهُۥ مِن تَسۡنِيمٍ
And it is admixed with Tasniim
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 27
عَيۡنٗا يَشۡرَبُ بِهَا ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ
a spring from which those who are brought near will drink
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 28
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجۡرَمُواْ كَانُواْ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ يَضۡحَكُونَ
The criminals certainly used to laugh at those who believed
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 29
وَإِذَا مَرُّواْ بِهِمۡ يَتَغَامَزُونَ
and when they passed by them they used to wink at one another
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 30
وَإِذَا ٱنقَلَبُوٓاْ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِمُ ٱنقَلَبُواْ فَكِهِينَ
And when they returned to their class of people, they returned joyful in false pride
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 31
وَإِذَا رَأَوۡهُمۡ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَضَآلُّونَ
And when they saw them they said, “These are certainly the persons who are astray,”
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 32
وَمَآ أُرۡسِلُواْ عَلَيۡهِمۡ حَٰفِظِينَ
though they were not sent as custodians over them
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 33
فَٱلۡيَوۡمَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنَ ٱلۡكُفَّارِ يَضۡحَكُونَ
So this day, those who had believed will laugh at the infidels
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 34
عَلَى ٱلۡأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ
They will be seeing (reclining) on couches
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 35
هَلۡ ثُوِّبَ ٱلۡكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُواْ يَفۡعَلُونَ
Will not the infidels be rewarded according to what they used to do
Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 36
