Surah Al-Burooj - English Translation by Tbirving
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡبُرُوجِ
By the sky holding constellations
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 1
وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡمَوۡعُودِ
and the promised day
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 2
وَشَاهِدٖ وَمَشۡهُودٖ
and a witness plus his evidence
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 3
قُتِلَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡأُخۡدُودِ
the diggers of the Trench will be slain
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 4
ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡوَقُودِ
The fire was full of fuel
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 5
إِذۡ هُمۡ عَلَيۡهَا قُعُودٞ
as they were crouching over it
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 6
وَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفۡعَلُونَ بِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ شُهُودٞ
and themselves were witnesses of what they were doing to believers
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 7
وَمَا نَقَمُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤۡمِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡحَمِيدِ
They persecuted them merely because they believed in God, the Powerful, the Praiseworthy
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 8
ٱلَّذِي لَهُۥ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ شَهِيدٌ
Who holds control over Heaven and Earth. God is a Witness for everything
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 9
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُواْ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمۡ يَتُوبُواْ فَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ ٱلۡحَرِيقِ
Those who harass believing men and women, then do not repent, will have Hell´s torment; they will have the torment of burning
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 10
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمۡ جَنَّـٰتٞ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡكَبِيرُ
The ones who believe and perform honorable deeds will have gardens through which rivers flow; that will be the great Achievement
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 11
إِنَّ بَطۡشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ
Nevertheless your Lord´s onslaught will be severe
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 12
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبۡدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ
He is the One Who originates [matters], then repeats them all over again
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 13
وَهُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلۡوَدُودُ
He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 14
ذُو ٱلۡعَرۡشِ ٱلۡمَجِيدُ
Possessor of the Majestic Throne
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 15
فَعَّالٞ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ
Doer of anything He wants
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 16
هَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلۡجُنُودِ
Has the report on the armies ever come to you
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 17
فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَثَمُودَ
about Pharaoh and Thamud
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 18
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فِي تَكۡذِيبٖ
Rather those who disbelieve [persist] in denial
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 19
وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطُۢ
while God comes sweeping in behind them
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 20
بَلۡ هُوَ قُرۡءَانٞ مَّجِيدٞ
Still it is a majestic Reading
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 21
فِي لَوۡحٖ مَّحۡفُوظِۭ
[preserved] on a guarded tablet
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 22
