Surah At-Tariq - English Translation by Tbirving
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ
By the sky and the Nightcomer
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 1
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ
What will make you realize what the Nightcomer is
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 2
ٱلنَّجۡمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ
The star shining [before dawn]
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 3
إِن كُلُّ نَفۡسٖ لَّمَّا عَلَيۡهَا حَافِظٞ
Each soul has a guardian [set up] over it
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 4
فَلۡيَنظُرِ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ
so let everyman notice what he has been created from
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 5
خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٖ دَافِقٖ
He was created from a fluid ejected
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 6
يَخۡرُجُ مِنۢ بَيۡنِ ٱلصُّلۡبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ
from between his backbone and his ribs
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 7
إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجۡعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٞ
He is Able to revive him
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 8
يَوۡمَ تُبۡلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ
on a day when secrets will be tested
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 9
فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٖ وَلَا نَاصِرٖ
so he will have no strength [left] nor any supporter
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 10
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجۡعِ
By the sky with its cycle
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 11
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدۡعِ
by the earth cracking open
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 12
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلٞ فَصۡلٞ
it is a decisive statement
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 13
وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلۡهَزۡلِ
It is no joke
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 14
إِنَّهُمۡ يَكِيدُونَ كَيۡدٗا
They are hatching some plot
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 15
وَأَكِيدُ كَيۡدٗا
while I too am hatching a plot
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 16
فَمَهِّلِ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ أَمۡهِلۡهُمۡ رُوَيۡدَۢا
so put up with disbelievers; put up with them as long as you can
