Surah At-Tariq - English Translation by Safi Kaskas
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ
By the sky and the knocking star
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 1
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ
what do you know about the knocking star
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 2
ٱلنَّجۡمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ
It is the piercing Star
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 3
إِن كُلُّ نَفۡسٖ لَّمَّا عَلَيۡهَا حَافِظٞ
there is no soul without a protector over it
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 4
فَلۡيَنظُرِ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ
So let the human being consider what he was created from
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 5
خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٖ دَافِقٖ
He was created from ejected fluid
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 6
يَخۡرُجُ مِنۢ بَيۡنِ ٱلصُّلۡبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ
emerging from the vicinity of the backbone and the ribs
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 7
إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجۡعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٞ
Indeed, God is able to bring him [the human being] back to life
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 8
يَوۡمَ تُبۡلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ
On a Day when secrets are disclosed
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 9
فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٖ وَلَا نَاصِرٖ
a human being will have no power or anyone to help him
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 10
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجۡعِ
By the sky and its cyclical system
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 11
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدۡعِ
and the earth which cracks open
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 12
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلٞ فَصۡلٞ
indeed, this is a decisive statement
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 13
وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلۡهَزۡلِ
not to be taken lightly
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 14
إِنَّهُمۡ يَكِيدُونَ كَيۡدٗا
They plot and scheme
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 15
وَأَكِيدُ كَيۡدٗا
but I am planning too
Surah At-Tariq, Verse 16
فَمَهِّلِ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ أَمۡهِلۡهُمۡ رُوَيۡدَۢا
So bear with the unbelievers. Let them be for a while
