Surah Al-Burooj - English Translation by Abdul Hye
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡبُرُوجِ
By the heaven holding the big stars
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 1
وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡمَوۡعُودِ
And by the Promised Day (of judgment)
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 2
وَشَاهِدٖ وَمَشۡهُودٖ
And by the witnesses and that which is being witnessed
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 3
قُتِلَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡأُخۡدُودِ
Cursed be the people of the ditch
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 4
ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡوَقُودِ
who lit the fire fed with fuel
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 5
إِذۡ هُمۡ عَلَيۡهَا قُعُودٞ
and they sat by it (fire)
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 6
وَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفۡعَلُونَ بِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ شُهُودٞ
to watch what they were doing to the believers
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 7
وَمَا نَقَمُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤۡمِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡحَمِيدِ
And they took revenge on them for no other reason except that they believed in Allah, the All-Mighty, the Praise-worthy
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 8
ٱلَّذِي لَهُۥ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ شَهِيدٌ
to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is witness over everything
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 9
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُواْ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمۡ يَتُوبُواْ فَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ ٱلۡحَرِيقِ
Surely, those who persecute the believing men and believing women and don’t repent (to Allah), then they will receive the punishment of hell and they will have the punishment of the burning fire
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 10
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمۡ جَنَّـٰتٞ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡكَبِيرُ
Surely, those who believe and do righteous deeds, they will have gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 11
إِنَّ بَطۡشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ
Surely, (O Muhammad) the grip (punishment) of your Lord is very severe
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 12
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبۡدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ
Surely, it is He Who originates (created everything) and will repeat it (on the Day of Resurrection)
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 13
وَهُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلۡوَدُودُ
Allah is Forgiving, the Loving (to the pious)
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 14
ذُو ٱلۡعَرۡشِ ٱلۡمَجِيدُ
the Owner of the Throne, the Glorious
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 15
فَعَّالٞ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ
and (He) does whatever He intends (or wills)
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 16
هَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلۡجُنُودِ
Has the story reached you of the hosts
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 17
فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَثَمُودَ
of Pharaoh and Thamud
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 18
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فِي تَكۡذِيبٖ
Nay! The disbelievers (persist) in denying (the truth)
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 19
وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطُۢ
and Allah has encompassed them from all around
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 20
بَلۡ هُوَ قُرۡءَانٞ مَّجِيدٞ
Nay! This is a Glorious Qur’an
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 21
فِي لَوۡحٖ مَّحۡفُوظِۭ
(inscribed) in the preserved tablet (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz)
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 22
