Surah Al-Inshiqaq - English Translation by Abdul Hye
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتۡ
When the heaven will split asunder
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 1
وَأَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡ
listens to and obeys its Lord and it must do so
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 2
وَإِذَا ٱلۡأَرۡضُ مُدَّتۡ
And when the earth will stretch out
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 3
وَأَلۡقَتۡ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتۡ
and cast out all that is in it and becomes empty
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 4
وَأَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡ
listens and obeys to its Lord and it must do so
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 5
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدۡحٗا فَمُلَٰقِيهِ
O mankind! Surely, you must strive very hard towards your Lord; then you will meet (Allah)
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 6
فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ
Then those who will be given their record (of deeds) in their right hand
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 7
فَسَوۡفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابٗا يَسِيرٗا
surely they will receive easy reckoning
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 8
وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ مَسۡرُورٗا
and will return to their family in joy
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 9
وَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ وَرَآءَ ظَهۡرِهِۦ
But those who will be given their record (deeds) from behind their back
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 10
فَسَوۡفَ يَدۡعُواْ ثُبُورٗا
will invoke for destruction
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 11
وَيَصۡلَىٰ سَعِيرًا
and shall burn in a blazing fire
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 12
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِيٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ مَسۡرُورًا
for they used to live among their people in joy
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 13
إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ
and thought that they would never come back (to Us for accounts)
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 14
بَلَىٰٓۚ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِيرٗا
Yes! Surely, their Lord was watching (over their misdeeds)
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 15
فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ
So I swear by the glow of sunset
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 16
وَٱلَّيۡلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ
and by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 17
وَٱلۡقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ
and by the moon when it grows full
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 18
لَتَرۡكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٖ
that you will certainly travel from stage to stage (this life and the Hereafter)
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 19
فَمَا لَهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ
What is the matter with the people that they don’t believe
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 20
وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ لَا يَسۡجُدُونَۤ۩
and when the Qur’an is recited to them, they don’t prostrate
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 21
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يُكَذِّبُونَ
Nay, the disbelievers will deny (Islam)
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 22
وَٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ
and Allah knows best what they are hiding (in their hearts)
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 23
فَبَشِّرۡهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
So, announce to them, a painful punishment
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 24
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمۡ أَجۡرٌ غَيۡرُ مَمۡنُونِۭ
except those who believe and do good deeds; for them there will be a never ending reward (Paradise)
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 25
