Surah Al-Inshiqaq - English Translation by Literal

إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتۡ

When/if the sky/space split/cracked
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 1

وَأَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡ

And listened/heard (obeyed) to its Lord, and became certain/fact/deserved
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 2

وَإِذَا ٱلۡأَرۡضُ مُدَّتۡ

And when/if the earth/Planet Earth was extended/spread
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 3

وَأَلۡقَتۡ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتۡ

And it threw what (is) in it, and became free
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 4

وَأَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡ

And listened/heard (obeyed) to its Lord and became certain/fact/deserved
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 5

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدۡحٗا فَمُلَٰقِيهِ

You, you the human/mankind, that you truly are exerting/labouring/toiling to your Lord exertion/labour/toil, so you (are) receiving/meeting Him
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 6

فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ

So but who was given/brought his Book/judgment with his right (hand)
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 7

فَسَوۡفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابٗا يَسِيرٗا

So he will be counted/calculated (with an) easy account/calculation
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 8

وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ مَسۡرُورٗا

And he returns to his family/people delighted/happy
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 9

وَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ وَرَآءَ ظَهۡرِهِۦ

And but who was given/brought his Book/judgment behind his back
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 10

فَسَوۡفَ يَدۡعُواْ ثُبُورٗا

So he will call (for) destruction and grief
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 11

وَيَصۡلَىٰ سَعِيرًا

And he suffers/burns blazing/inflaming (punishment)
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 12

إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِيٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ مَسۡرُورًا

That he truly was in his family/people delighted/happy
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 13

إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ

That he truly thought/assumed that (E) he will never/not return
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 14

بَلَىٰٓۚ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِيرٗا

Yes/certainly, that truly his Lord was seeing/knowing with (of) him
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 15

فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ

So I do not swear/make oath with the twilight
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 16

وَٱلَّيۡلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ

And the night, and what carried/gathered/loaded
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 17

وَٱلۡقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ

And the moon when/if it organized/evened/gathered
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 18

لَتَرۡكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٖ

You will ride/embark (E) a stage/layer/cover from/of/on a stage/layer/cover (they move from one state to another i.e. birth to death)
