Surah Al-Inshiqaq - English Translation by Ali Bakhtiari Nejad
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتۡ
When the sky splits
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 1
وَأَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡ
and it listens to its Master and it is required (to listen)
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 2
وَإِذَا ٱلۡأَرۡضُ مُدَّتۡ
and when the earth is stretched
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 3
وَأَلۡقَتۡ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتۡ
and throws out what is inside of it and becomes empty
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 4
وَأَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡ
and it listens to its Master and it is required (to listen)
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 5
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدۡحٗا فَمُلَٰقِيهِ
Human being, indeed you are a hard worker toward your Master, working hard, and you meet Him
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 6
فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ
As for anyone who is given his book to his right hand
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 7
فَسَوۡفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابٗا يَسِيرٗا
then he is called to account, an easy account
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 8
وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ مَسۡرُورٗا
and he returns happily to his family
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 9
وَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ وَرَآءَ ظَهۡرِهِۦ
But anyone who is given his book from behind his back
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 10
فَسَوۡفَ يَدۡعُواْ ثُبُورٗا
Then he will call for destruction (and his death)
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 11
وَيَصۡلَىٰ سَعِيرًا
while he enters (and burns in) the burning fire
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 12
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِيٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ مَسۡرُورًا
Indeed he was happy among his family
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 13
إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ
Indeed he thought that he would never return
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 14
بَلَىٰٓۚ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِيرٗا
Yes, his Master was indeed watching him
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 15
فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ
So I swear by the sunset glow
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 16
وَٱلَّيۡلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ
and the night and what it collects
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 17
وَٱلۡقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ
and the moon when it is full
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 18
لَتَرۡكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٖ
that you shall move on from state after state
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 19
فَمَا لَهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ
So what is with them that they do not believe
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 20
وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ لَا يَسۡجُدُونَۤ۩
and when the Quran is read to them, they do not show humbleness
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 21
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يُكَذِّبُونَ
No, but those who disbelieved deny
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 22
وَٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ
and God knows better what they hold (inside them)
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 23
فَبَشِّرۡهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
So give them the news of a painful punishment
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 24
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمۡ أَجۡرٌ غَيۡرُ مَمۡنُونِۭ
except those who believed and did good works, as they have an unending reward
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, Verse 25
