Surah Al-Burooj - English Translation by Ali Bakhtiari Nejad
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡبُرُوجِ
By the sky having the constellations
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 1
وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡمَوۡعُودِ
and by the promised day
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 2
وَشَاهِدٖ وَمَشۡهُودٖ
and by a witness and a witnessed
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 3
قُتِلَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡأُخۡدُودِ
Damn the directors of the fire pit
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 4
ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡوَقُودِ
the fire having (plenty of) the fuel
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 5
إِذۡ هُمۡ عَلَيۡهَا قُعُودٞ
when they sat around it
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 6
وَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفۡعَلُونَ بِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ شُهُودٞ
and they were witnesses over what they did to the believers
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 7
وَمَا نَقَمُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤۡمِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡحَمِيدِ
And they only took revenge from them for believing in God the powerful, the praiseworthy
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 8
ٱلَّذِي لَهُۥ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ شَهِيدٌ
The One that the rule of the skies and the earth belongs to Him, and God is a witness over everything
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 9
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُواْ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمۡ يَتُوبُواْ فَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ ٱلۡحَرِيقِ
Indeed those who persecuted (and tortured) the believing men and the believing women and did not repent, punishment of hell is for them and the burning punishment is for them
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 10
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمۡ جَنَّـٰتٞ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡكَبِيرُ
Indeed those who believed and did good works, for them are gardens which rivers flow through them. That is the great victory
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 11
إِنَّ بَطۡشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ
Indeed your Master’s assault is severe
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 12
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبۡدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ
Indeed He initiates and repeats (the creation)
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 13
وَهُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلۡوَدُودُ
and He is the forgiving, the most friendly
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 14
ذُو ٱلۡعَرۡشِ ٱلۡمَجِيدُ
owner of the glorious throne
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 15
فَعَّالٞ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ
doer of what He wants
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 16
هَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلۡجُنُودِ
Did the story of the armies come to you
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 17
فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَثَمُودَ
Pharaoh and the Thamud
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 18
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فِي تَكۡذِيبٖ
But those who disbelieved are in a denial
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 19
وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطُۢ
And God is surrounding over and above them
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 20
بَلۡ هُوَ قُرۡءَانٞ مَّجِيدٞ
This is a glorious Quran
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 21
فِي لَوۡحٖ مَّحۡفُوظِۭ
in a guarded (and protected) tablet
Surah Al-Burooj, Verse 22
