Surah AL-Infitar - English Translation by Dr Munir Munshey
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتۡ
When the sky is split asunder
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 1
وَإِذَا ٱلۡكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتۡ
And the stars are strewn around
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 2
وَإِذَا ٱلۡبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتۡ
And the oceans spill forth
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 3
وَإِذَا ٱلۡقُبُورُ بُعۡثِرَتۡ
And the graves are overturned (and emptied)
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 4
عَلِمَتۡ نَفۡسٞ مَّا قَدَّمَتۡ وَأَخَّرَتۡ
(That is the day when) every soul would learn everything it did, that which it sent ahead, and that which it left behind
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 5
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلۡكَرِيمِ
(Oh people)! What has lured you away from your Lord, the most Eminent, the Generous
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 6
ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ
The One Who created you, fashioned you, and gave you (the right) proportions
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 7
فِيٓ أَيِّ صُورَةٖ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ
In whatever form He willed, He brought you into being
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 8
كَلَّا بَلۡ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ
No! Rather, you deny the (day of) reward and punishment
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 9
وَإِنَّ عَلَيۡكُمۡ لَحَٰفِظِينَ
Indeed, to watch over you (and record) are
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 10
كِرَامٗا كَٰتِبِينَ
The noble scribes, (the angels)
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 11
يَعۡلَمُونَ مَا تَفۡعَلُونَ
They know everything you do
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 12
إِنَّ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٖ
Of course, the pious would be in bliss
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 13
وَإِنَّ ٱلۡفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٖ
And the wicked would surely be in hellfire
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 14
يَصۡلَوۡنَهَا يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ
They shall join it on the Day of Judgment
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 15
وَمَا هُمۡ عَنۡهَا بِغَآئِبِينَ
And (thereafter) they shall never (be allowed to) remain absent from it
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 16
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا يَوۡمُ ٱلدِّينِ
What can make you grasp the reality of the Day of Judgment
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 17
ثُمَّ مَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا يَوۡمُ ٱلدِّينِ
(Think) again! What can make you grasp the reality of the Day of Judgment
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 18
يَوۡمَ لَا تَمۡلِكُ نَفۡسٞ لِّنَفۡسٖ شَيۡـٔٗاۖ وَٱلۡأَمۡرُ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلَّهِ
That day, no soul shall have any power to do anything at all for anyone else. That day, the command will belong to Allah (exclusively)
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 19
