Surah AL-Infitar - English Translation by Syed Vickar Ahamed
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتۡ
When the sky is split apart
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 1
وَإِذَا ٱلۡكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتۡ
When the stars fall thrown around
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 2
وَإِذَا ٱلۡبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتۡ
When the oceans are made to burst apart; (into one big ocean covering the earth)
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 3
وَإِذَا ٱلۡقُبُورُ بُعۡثِرَتۡ
And when the graves are turned upside down
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 4
عَلِمَتۡ نَفۡسٞ مَّا قَدَّمَتۡ وَأَخَّرَتۡ
(Then) each soul shall know what it has sent forward and (what it has) kept back
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 5
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلۡكَرِيمِ
O man! What has misled you (away) from your Lord, Most Generous (Rab-ul-Kareem)
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 6
ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ
He, Who created you, given you the proper size and shape, and gave you a just basis (for thinking)
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 7
فِيٓ أَيِّ صُورَةٖ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ
In whatever form He wishes, He puts you together
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 8
كَلَّا بَلۡ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ
No! But you (men) reject the (Final) Judgment
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 9
وَإِنَّ عَلَيۡكُمۡ لَحَٰفِظِينَ
But surely, over you (are angels) to protect you
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 10
كِرَامٗا كَٰتِبِينَ
Kind and honorable writing down (your deeds and works)
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 11
يَعۡلَمُونَ مَا تَفۡعَلُونَ
They know (and understand) all that you do
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 12
إِنَّ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٖ
As for the righteous, they will be in Joy
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 13
وَإِنَّ ٱلۡفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٖ
And the wicked, they will be in Fire
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 14
يَصۡلَوۡنَهَا يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ
Which they will enter on the Day of Judgment
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 15
وَمَا هُمۡ عَنۡهَا بِغَآئِبِينَ
And they will not be able to keep away from there
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 16
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا يَوۡمُ ٱلدِّينِ
And what will explain to you what the Day of Judgment is
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 17
ثُمَّ مَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا يَوۡمُ ٱلدِّينِ
Again, what will explain to you what the Day of Judgment is
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 18
يَوۡمَ لَا تَمۡلِكُ نَفۡسٞ لِّنَفۡسٖ شَيۡـٔٗاۖ وَٱلۡأَمۡرُ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلَّهِ
(It will be) the Day when no soul shall have power (to do) anything for another: Because on that Day, the Command will be wholly with Allah
Surah AL-Infitar, Verse 19
