Surah Al-Fajr - English Translation by Hamid S Aziz
I swear by (or call to witness) the dawn
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 1

And by the nights twice five (of pilgrimage)
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 2

And the even and the odd
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 3

And the night when it passes on
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 4

Is there not in these a lesson (evidence or admonition) for a man of understanding
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 5

Have you not seen how your Lord did with the people of A´ad
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 6

With the city of Iram of the lofty pillars
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 7

The like of which has not been created in all the land
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 8

And with the people of Thamud when they hewed the great stones in the valley
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 9

And with Pharaoh, Lord of the stakes
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 10

All these were outrageous in the land
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 11

                  And did multiply wickedness therein
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 12

Therefore, your Lord poured out upon them the scourge of diverse torments
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 13

Verily, your Lord is ever watchful
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 14

Now as for man, whenever his Lord tries him and honours him and grants him favour, then he says, "My Lord has honoured me
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 15

But whenever he tries him and restricts his subsistence, then he says, "My Lord despises me
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 16

Nay, nay! But you do not honour the orphan
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 17

Nor do you urge each other to feed the poor
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 18

And you devour the inheritance (of the weak) with greed
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 19

And you love wealth with an abounding love
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 20

Nay, when the earth is crushed to pieces
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 21

And your Lord comes with the angels, rank on rank
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 22

And Hell is brought near on that Day, on that Day shall man remember! But how shall the remembrance profit him
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 23

He will say, "Would that I had sent something forward for my life
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 24

But on that Day none shall punish as He punishes
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 25

And none shall be bound with bonds like his
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 26

But O, you soul in peace and fulfilment
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 27

Return unto your Lord, well pleased and well pleasing unto Him
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 28

                  Enter you amongst My servants
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 29

                  Enter you My Garden (Paradise)
                  Surah Al-Fajr, Verse 30
