Surah Al-Mursalat - English Translation by Mir Aneesuddin
وَٱلۡمُرۡسَلَٰتِ عُرۡفٗا
By those sent one after another
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 1
فَٱلۡعَٰصِفَٰتِ عَصۡفٗا
then the violent winds, blowing violently
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 2
وَٱلنَّـٰشِرَٰتِ نَشۡرٗا
and those that scatter, scattering
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 3
فَٱلۡفَٰرِقَٰتِ فَرۡقٗا
then those that distinguish, distinguishing (right from wrong)
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 4
فَٱلۡمُلۡقِيَٰتِ ذِكۡرًا
then those that bring down the reminder
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 5
عُذۡرًا أَوۡ نُذۡرًا
excusing or warning
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 6
إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَٰقِعٞ
That which you are promised will certainly befall
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 7
فَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ طُمِسَتۡ
So when the stars are made to disappear
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 8
وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتۡ
and when the sky is cleft asunder
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 9
وَإِذَا ٱلۡجِبَالُ نُسِفَتۡ
and when the mountains are uprooted as dust
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 10
وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتۡ
and when the messengers are brought (at their) appointed time
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 11
لِأَيِّ يَوۡمٍ أُجِّلَتۡ
For which day (is this) timed
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 12
لِيَوۡمِ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ
For the day of decision
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 13
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا يَوۡمُ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ
And what will make you realize, what the day of decision is
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 14
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Sorrowful will be the state on that day, of the deniers
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 15
أَلَمۡ نُهۡلِكِ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
Did We not destroy the ancients
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 16
ثُمَّ نُتۡبِعُهُمُ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ
Then We made the others to follow them
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 17
كَذَٰلِكَ نَفۡعَلُ بِٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
Thus do We deal with the criminals
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 18
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Sorrowful will be the state on that day, of the deniers
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 19
أَلَمۡ نَخۡلُقكُّم مِّن مَّآءٖ مَّهِينٖ
Did We not create you from a fluid (which is) weakened after vigor
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 20
فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُ فِي قَرَارٖ مَّكِينٍ
Then We made it to stay in a place
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 21
إِلَىٰ قَدَرٖ مَّعۡلُومٖ
till (the fulfilment of) the known programme
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 22
فَقَدَرۡنَا فَنِعۡمَ ٱلۡقَٰدِرُونَ
thus We programmed, for We are Excellent Programmers
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 23
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Sorrowful will be the state on that day, of the deniers
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 24
أَلَمۡ نَجۡعَلِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ كِفَاتًا
Did We not make the earth, one that draws together to itself
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 25
أَحۡيَآءٗ وَأَمۡوَٰتٗا
the living and the dead (due to the force of its gravity)
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 26
وَجَعَلۡنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِيَ شَٰمِخَٰتٖ وَأَسۡقَيۡنَٰكُم مَّآءٗ فُرَاتٗا
And We made therein lofty ranges of mountains and gave you to drink sweet water
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 27
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Sorrowful will be the state on that day, of the deniers
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 28
ٱنطَلِقُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ
(It will be said to them), “Proceed towards that which you used to deny
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 29
ٱنطَلِقُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ ظِلّٖ ذِي ثَلَٰثِ شُعَبٖ
Proceed towards the covering having three branches
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 30
لَّا ظَلِيلٖ وَلَا يُغۡنِي مِنَ ٱللَّهَبِ
neither (giving) cool shade nor making one free from the flame
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 31
إِنَّهَا تَرۡمِي بِشَرَرٖ كَٱلۡقَصۡرِ
it certainly throws sparks like palaces
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 32
كَأَنَّهُۥ جِمَٰلَتٞ صُفۡرٞ
as if they were yellow camels.”
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 33
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Sorrowful will be the state on that day, of the deniers
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 34
هَٰذَا يَوۡمُ لَا يَنطِقُونَ
This is the day (on which) they will not speak
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 35
وَلَا يُؤۡذَنُ لَهُمۡ فَيَعۡتَذِرُونَ
And permission will not be given to them that they may put forth excuses
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 36
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Sorrowful will be the state on that day, of the deniers
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 37
هَٰذَا يَوۡمُ ٱلۡفَصۡلِۖ جَمَعۡنَٰكُمۡ وَٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
This is the day of decision, We have gathered you and the ancients
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 38
فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمۡ كَيۡدٞ فَكِيدُونِ
So if there is any plot you have, then do plot against Me
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 39
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Sorrowful will be the state on that day, of the deniers
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 40
إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِي ظِلَٰلٖ وَعُيُونٖ
Those who had guarded (against evil) will be in shades and springs
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 41
وَفَوَٰكِهَ مِمَّا يَشۡتَهُونَ
and fruits which they desire
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 42
كُلُواْ وَٱشۡرَبُواْ هَنِيٓـَٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ
(It will be said), “Eat and drink pleasantly because of that, which you used to do.”
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 43
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
Thus do We reward the doers of good
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 44
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Sorrowful will be the state on that day, of the deniers
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 45
كُلُواْ وَتَمَتَّعُواْ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُم مُّجۡرِمُونَ
Eat and enjoy yourselves for a while, you are certainly criminals
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 46
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Sorrowful will be the state on that day, of the deniers
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 47
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱرۡكَعُواْ لَا يَرۡكَعُونَ
And when it is said to them to bow down, they do not bow down
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 48
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Sorrowful will be the state on that day, of the deniers
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 49
فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثِۭ بَعۡدَهُۥ يُؤۡمِنُونَ
Then in which statement after this, will they believe
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 50
