Surah Al-Mursalat - English Translation by Abdul Hye
وَٱلۡمُرۡسَلَٰتِ عُرۡفٗا
By the emissary winds (sent forth) one after another
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 1
فَٱلۡعَٰصِفَٰتِ عَصۡفٗا
by the raging hurricanes
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 2
وَٱلنَّـٰشِرَٰتِ نَشۡرٗا
by (the winds) that scatter (the clouds) to distant places
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 3
فَٱلۡفَٰرِقَٰتِ فَرۡقٗا
then separate them one from another
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 4
فَٱلۡمُلۡقِيَٰتِ ذِكۡرًا
by those (angels) who bring down the reminder (to the Messengers)
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 5
عُذۡرًا أَوۡ نُذۡرًا
either to (remove all) excuses or to (covey the) warning
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 6
إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَٰقِعٞ
Surely, what you are promised must be fulfilled
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 7
فَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ طُمِسَتۡ
(It will be fulfilled) when the stars will lose their light
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 8
وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتۡ
when the heaven will cleft asunder
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 9
وَإِذَا ٱلۡجِبَالُ نُسِفَتۡ
when the mountains will blow away (into dust)
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 10
وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتۡ
when the Messengers will be gathered to their appointed time
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 11
لِأَيِّ يَوۡمٍ أُجِّلَتۡ
For what Day are these signs deferred
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 12
لِيَوۡمِ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ
For the Day of sorting out (judgment)
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 13
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا يَوۡمُ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ
What will make you know, what is the Day of sorting out
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 14
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Woe on that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 15
أَلَمۡ نُهۡلِكِ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
Did We not destroy the previous generations (for evil deeds)
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 16
ثُمَّ نُتۡبِعُهُمُ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ
Then We shall make later generations to follow them
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 17
كَذَٰلِكَ نَفۡعَلُ بِٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
Thus We will deal with the criminals
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 18
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Woe on that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 19
أَلَمۡ نَخۡلُقكُّم مِّن مَّآءٖ مَّهِينٖ
Have We not created you from a worthless fluid (semen)
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 20
فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُ فِي قَرَارٖ مَّكِينٍ
which We placed in a place of safety (womb)
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 21
إِلَىٰ قَدَرٖ مَّعۡلُومٖ
for a known period
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 22
فَقَدَرۡنَا فَنِعۡمَ ٱلۡقَٰدِرُونَ
So We have measured (its term) and We are the best to measure (things)
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 23
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Woe on that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 24
أَلَمۡ نَجۡعَلِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ كِفَاتًا
Have We not made the earth a home for both
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 25
أَحۡيَآءٗ وَأَمۡوَٰتٗا
the living and the dead
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 26
وَجَعَلۡنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِيَ شَٰمِخَٰتٖ وَأَسۡقَيۡنَٰكُم مَّآءٗ فُرَاتٗا
placed on it firm, tall and high mountains, and given you sweet water to drink
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 27
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Woe on that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 28
ٱنطَلِقُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ
(It will be said to the disbelievers on the Day of Judgment): “You depart to that (hell) which you used to deny
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 29
ٱنطَلِقُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ ظِلّٖ ذِي ثَلَٰثِ شُعَبٖ
You depart towards the shadow (of hellfire smoke ascending) in 3 columns
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 30
لَّا ظَلِيلٖ وَلَا يُغۡنِي مِنَ ٱللَّهَبِ
neither shady nor of any use against the fierce flame of the fire
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 31
إِنَّهَا تَرۡمِي بِشَرَرٖ كَٱلۡقَصۡرِ
surely! it (hell) throws up huge sparks like a castle
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 32
كَأَنَّهُۥ جِمَٰلَتٞ صُفۡرٞ
as if they were yellow camels.”
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 33
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Woe on that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 34
هَٰذَا يَوۡمُ لَا يَنطِقُونَ
That will be the Day when they shall not be able to speak
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 35
وَلَا يُؤۡذَنُ لَهُمۡ فَيَعۡتَذِرُونَ
they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse for them
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 36
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Woe on that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 37
هَٰذَا يَوۡمُ ٱلۡفَصۡلِۖ جَمَعۡنَٰكُمۡ وَٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
Such will be the Day of decision! We will bring you and your previous generations together
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 38
فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمۡ كَيۡدٞ فَكِيدُونِ
So, if you have a plot, then plot against Me
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 39
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Woe on that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 40
إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِي ظِلَٰلٖ وَعُيُونٖ
Surely, the pious shall reside in shades and springs
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 41
وَفَوَٰكِهَ مِمَّا يَشۡتَهُونَ
and they will have whatever fruits they desire
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 42
كُلُواْ وَٱشۡرَبُواْ هَنِيٓـَٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ
(It will be said to them): “Eat and drink comfortably for that which you used to do (good deeds).”
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 43
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
Surely, thus We will reward the righteous
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 44
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Woe on that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 45
كُلُواْ وَتَمَتَّعُواْ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُم مُّجۡرِمُونَ
(O disbelievers)! Eat and enjoy yourselves (in this worldly life) for a little while. Surely, you are the criminals
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 46
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Woe on that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 47
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱرۡكَعُواْ لَا يَرۡكَعُونَ
When it is said to them: “Bow down yourself (in prayer before Allah)!” They don’t bow down
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 48
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
Woe on that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 49
فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثِۭ بَعۡدَهُۥ يُؤۡمِنُونَ
Then in what statement after this (the Qur’an), will they believe
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 50
