Surah Al-Mursalat - English Translation by Safi Kaskas
وَٱلۡمُرۡسَلَٰتِ عُرۡفٗا
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 1
فَٱلۡعَٰصِفَٰتِ عَصۡفٗا
and those violently storming
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 2
وَٱلنَّـٰشِرَٰتِ نَشۡرٗا
consider these [messages] that spread [the Truth] far and wide
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 3
فَٱلۡفَٰرِقَٰتِ فَرۡقٗا
thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 4
فَٱلۡمُلۡقِيَٰتِ ذِكۡرًا
and then delivering a reminder
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 5
عُذۡرًا أَوۡ نُذۡرًا
[promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 6
إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَٰقِعٞ
what you are promised will surely happen
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 7
فَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ طُمِسَتۡ
So when the stars are extinguished
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 8
وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتۡ
the heaven is split open
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 9
وَإِذَا ٱلۡجِبَالُ نُسِفَتۡ
the mountains are blown away
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 10
وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتۡ
And when the messengers are called together to an appointed time
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 11
لِأَيِّ يَوۡمٍ أُجِّلَتۡ
for what Day was it postponed
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 12
لِيَوۡمِ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ
For the Day of Decision
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 13
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا يَوۡمُ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ
And what do you know about the Day of Decision
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 14
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
How horrible is that Day for those who deny the truth
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 15
أَلَمۡ نُهۡلِكِ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
Did We not destroy the earlier people
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 16
ثُمَّ نُتۡبِعُهُمُ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ
And We shall make the latter follow them
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 17
كَذَٰلِكَ نَفۡعَلُ بِٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
This is how We deal with those who forced others to reject Our messages
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 18
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
How horrible is that Day for those who reject the truth
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 19
أَلَمۡ نَخۡلُقكُّم مِّن مَّآءٖ مَّهِينٖ
Did We not create you from an insignificant liquid
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 20
فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُ فِي قَرَارٖ مَّكِينٍ
Then lodged it in a secure place
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 21
إِلَىٰ قَدَرٖ مَّعۡلُومٖ
for a known term
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 22
فَقَدَرۡنَا فَنِعۡمَ ٱلۡقَٰدِرُونَ
And We determined it, how excellently We determine
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 23
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
How terrible is that Day for the deniers of the truth
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 24
أَلَمۡ نَجۡعَلِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ كِفَاتًا
Have We not made the earth a home
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 25
أَحۡيَآءٗ وَأَمۡوَٰتٗا
for the living and the dead
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 26
وَجَعَلۡنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِيَ شَٰمِخَٰتٖ وَأَسۡقَيۡنَٰكُم مَّآءٗ فُرَاتٗا
And We placed firmly embedded mountains in it, rising high, and given you sweet water to drink
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 27
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
How terrible is that Day for the deniers of the truth
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 28
ٱنطَلِقُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ
Proceed to what you used to deny
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 29
ٱنطَلِقُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ ظِلّٖ ذِي ثَلَٰثِ شُعَبٖ
Proceed to a shadow with three columns
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 30
لَّا ظَلِيلٖ وَلَا يُغۡنِي مِنَ ٱللَّهَبِ
that has no shade and will not prevent you from the flame
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 31
إِنَّهَا تَرۡمِي بِشَرَرٖ كَٱلۡقَصۡرِ
It shoots sparks [as huge] as a fortress
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 32
كَأَنَّهُۥ جِمَٰلَتٞ صُفۡرٞ
like giant fiery ropes
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 33
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
How terrible is that Day for those who deny the truth
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 34
هَٰذَا يَوۡمُ لَا يَنطِقُونَ
On that Day they will be speechless
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 35
وَلَا يُؤۡذَنُ لَهُمۡ فَيَعۡتَذِرُونَ
and they not be given permission to offer any excuses
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 36
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
How terrible is that Day for those who deny the truth
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 37
هَٰذَا يَوۡمُ ٱلۡفَصۡلِۖ جَمَعۡنَٰكُمۡ وَٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
This is the Day of Decision; We will have gathered you together with the earlier people
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 38
فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمۡ كَيۡدٞ فَكِيدُونِ
So if you have a ploy, then use it against my plan now
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 39
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
How terrible is that Day for those who deny the truth
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 40
إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِي ظِلَٰلٖ وَعُيُونٖ
The God-conscious will be amidst shades and springs
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 41
وَفَوَٰكِهَ مِمَّا يَشۡتَهُونَ
and any fruits they desire
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 42
كُلُواْ وَٱشۡرَبُواْ هَنِيٓـَٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ
Eat and drink and enjoy it as a reward for your deeds
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 43
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
This is how We reward those who do good
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 44
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
How terrible is that Day for those who deny the truth
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 45
كُلُواْ وَتَمَتَّعُواْ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُم مُّجۡرِمُونَ
You are but dissenters. So eat and enjoy yourselves a little [while you can]
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 46
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
How terrible is that Day for the deniers of the truth
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 47
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱرۡكَعُواْ لَا يَرۡكَعُونَ
And when It is said to them, "Bow down [in prayer]," they do not bow
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 48
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
How terrible is that Day for those who denied the truth
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 49
فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثِۭ بَعۡدَهُۥ يُؤۡمِنُونَ
In what message beyond this will they believe
Surah Al-Mursalat, Verse 50
