Surah An-Naba - English Translation by Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali
Of what do they ask one another (questions)
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 1

Of the tremendous tidings, (The Arabic word is singular)
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 2

Concerning which they (continue) differing among themselves
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 3

Not at all! They will soon know
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 4

Thereafter, not at all! They will soon know
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 5

Have We not made the earth as a cradling, (Or: level lands)
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 6

                  And the mountains as bulwarks
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 7

And We created you in pairs
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 8

And We have made your sleep for repose
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 9

And We have made the night for a garment
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 10

And We have made the daytime for (earning) a livelihood
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 11

And We have built above you seven strong (heavens)
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 12

And We have made a glowing luminary
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 13

And We have sent down from the clouds (i.e., rain clouds) pressing forth water cascading
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 14

That We may bring out thereby grain and growth
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 15

                  And gardens entwined
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 16

Surely the Day of Verdict has been (set) as a fixed time
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 17

The Day when the Trumpet will be blown; then you will come up in troops
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 18

And the heaven is opened, (and) so has become gates
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 19

And the mountains are made to travel, (and) so have become a mirage
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 20

Surely Hell has been observing, (i.e., in expectation of the criminals)
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 21

For the inordinate (as) a resorting
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 22

                  Lingering therein for epochs
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 23

They will not taste therein either coolness or any drink
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 24

Except scalding water and (overflowing) pus
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 25

                  An agreeable recompense
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 26

Surely they did not hope for a reckoning
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 27

And they cried lies to Our signs with constant cries (of lies)
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 28

And everything We have enumerated in a Book
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 29

So taste! We will never increase you in anything except in torment
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 30

Surely for the pious there is a place of triumph
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 31

                  Enclosed orchards, and vineyards
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 32

And youthful virgins, like of age
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 33

                  And a cup brimful
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 34

Therein they will hear no idle talk nor cry of lies
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 35

(It is for) recompense from your Lord, a gift, a reckoning
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 36

(From) the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, The All-Merciful; they possess (no power) of addressing Him
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 37

On the Day when the Spirit and the Angels rise up in ranks, they will not speak, except him (to) whom The All-Merciful has given permission and who speaks (Literally: says) right
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 38

That is the True Day. So whoever decides, should seek a resorting to his Lord (i.e., by doing righteous deeds)
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 39

Surely We have warned you of a near torment on the Day when a person will look at whatever his hands have forwarded, and the disbeliever will say, "Oh, would that I were dust
                  Surah An-Naba, Verse 40
