Surah An-Naziat - English Translation by Mir Anees Original
وَٱلنَّـٰزِعَٰتِ غَرۡقٗا
By those who pull out getting drowned (going deep to the last limit)
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 1
وَٱلنَّـٰشِطَٰتِ نَشۡطٗا
and those who untie, releasing
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 2
وَٱلسَّـٰبِحَٰتِ سَبۡحٗا
and those who are busy moving swiftly
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 3
فَٱلسَّـٰبِقَٰتِ سَبۡقٗا
then those who are ahead, being ahead
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 4
فَٱلۡمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمۡرٗا
then those who manage the affair
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 5
يَوۡمَ تَرۡجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ
On the day the quaking one (the earth) will quake
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 6
تَتۡبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ
and the succeeding one will follow it
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 7
قُلُوبٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ وَاجِفَةٌ
on that day hearts will palpitate
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 8
أَبۡصَٰرُهَا خَٰشِعَةٞ
their looks will be cast down
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 9
يَقُولُونَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرۡدُودُونَ فِي ٱلۡحَافِرَةِ
They say, “Shall we be restored to our first state
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 10
أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَٰمٗا نَّخِرَةٗ
even when we have become rotten bones?”
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 11
قَالُواْ تِلۡكَ إِذٗا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٞ
They say, “Then this would be a return of loss.”
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 12
فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجۡرَةٞ وَٰحِدَةٞ
So it will only be a single shout
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 13
فَإِذَا هُم بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ
when they will be awake
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 14
هَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ
Has the story of Musa come to you
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 15
إِذۡ نَادَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ بِٱلۡوَادِ ٱلۡمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى
When his Fosterer called him in the holy valley of Tuwa (saying)
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 16
ٱذۡهَبۡ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ
Go to Firawn, he has certainly rebelled
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 17
فَقُلۡ هَل لَّكَ إِلَىٰٓ أَن تَزَكَّىٰ
then say to him, “ Have you the inclination to purify yourself
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 18
وَأَهۡدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخۡشَىٰ
and that I should guide you to your Fosterer, so that you fear (Him)?”
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 19
فَأَرَىٰهُ ٱلۡأٓيَةَ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰ
Then he showed him the great sign
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 20
فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ
but he denied and disobeyed
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 21
ثُمَّ أَدۡبَرَ يَسۡعَىٰ
then he turned away in haste
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 22
فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ
then he gathered to proclaim
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 23
فَقَالَ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمُ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ
then said, “I am your top most fosterer.”
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 24
فَأَخَذَهُ ٱللَّهُ نَكَالَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ وَٱلۡأُولَىٰٓ
So Allah caught him for punishment (both in) the later and the former (life)
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 25
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبۡرَةٗ لِّمَن يَخۡشَىٰٓ
There is certainly a lesson in that for one who fears
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 26
ءَأَنتُمۡ أَشَدُّ خَلۡقًا أَمِ ٱلسَّمَآءُۚ بَنَىٰهَا
Are you the stronger in creation or the sky which He built
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 27
رَفَعَ سَمۡكَهَا فَسَوَّىٰهَا
He raised its height and then set it in equilibrium
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 28
وَأَغۡطَشَ لَيۡلَهَا وَأَخۡرَجَ ضُحَىٰهَا
And He darkened its night and brought out its day light
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 29
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآ
And He stretched out the earth (drifting the continents apart), after that
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 30
أَخۡرَجَ مِنۡهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرۡعَىٰهَا
brought out from the (earth) its water and its pasture
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 31
وَٱلۡجِبَالَ أَرۡسَىٰهَا
and He firmly anchored the mountains
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 32
مَتَٰعٗا لَّكُمۡ وَلِأَنۡعَٰمِكُمۡ
A provision for you and for your cattle
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 33
فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰ
So when the great predominating calamity comes
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 34
يَوۡمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مَا سَعَىٰ
the day man will recollect what he earnestly strove after
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 35
وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلۡجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰ
And the hell will be made manifest for him who sees
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 36
فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ
So as for him who rebelled
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 37
وَءَاثَرَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا
and preferred the life of this world
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 38
فَإِنَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ هِيَ ٱلۡمَأۡوَىٰ
then hell will certainly be his home
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 39
وَأَمَّا مَنۡ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفۡسَ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰ
And as for him who feared to stand before his Fosterer and restrained himself from evil desire
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 40
فَإِنَّ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ هِيَ ٱلۡمَأۡوَىٰ
then the garden will certainly be his home
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 41
يَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرۡسَىٰهَا
They ask you about the hour of doom, “When will be its anchorage (time of happening) ?”
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 42
فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكۡرَىٰهَآ
In what way are you to discuss it
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 43
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَىٰهَآ
To your Fosterer (belongs the knowledge of) the ultimate time of its happening
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 44
إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخۡشَىٰهَا
You are a warner only for him who fears it
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 45
كَأَنَّهُمۡ يَوۡمَ يَرَوۡنَهَا لَمۡ يَلۡبَثُوٓاْ إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوۡ ضُحَىٰهَا
The day they see it, for them it will be as if they had not stayed (in their graves or this world) except for an evening or a morning of it
Surah An-Naziat, Verse 46
