Surah Abasa - English Translation by Mohammad Shafi
                  He frowned and turned away
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 1

That the blind man came to him
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 2

And what do you know? He might reform [to become a righteous man]
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 3

Or, he might deliberate and the deliberation might benefit him
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 4

                  Now he who is well-to-do
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 5

                  To him you pay attention
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 6

And [even when] it is not your responsibility if he would not reform
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 7

And he who comes to you in earnest
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 8

                  And fears (Allah)
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 9

By him then are you distracted
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 10

No! [Your resentment at the blind man's intrusion is not right.] This [Qur'aan] is only an open source of divine Admonition to recite
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 11

So whoso wills may recite it and take heed from
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 12

                  In records honourable
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 13

                  Exalted and purified
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 14

                  By hands of scribes
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 15

                  Noble and virtuous
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 16

Man be damned, how ungrateful is he
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 17

Out of what thing did He create him
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 18

HE created him out of fertilized ovum and then moulded him in due proportion
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 19

And then made the path of life convenient for him
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 20

And then He caused him to die and consigned him to dust
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 21

And then, whenever He wishes, He will raise him back to life
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 22

No! Man did certainly not carry out what Allah had asked him to do
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 23

Let man just look at his food
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 24

[To enable man to get his food] We poured water [rain] in showers
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 25

And We pierced the soil, so that it got soaked [with rain water]
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 26

Then We caused grain to grow therein
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 27

                  And grapevines and vegetables
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 28

                  And olive-trees and palm-trees
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 29

                  And luxuriant orchards
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 30

                  And fruits and fodder
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 31

As provision for you and your cattle
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 32

Then as the deafening blast occurs
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 33

On the Day when every man would flee from his brother
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 34

And his mother and his father
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 35

And his spouse and his children
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 36

On that Day everyone among them will be preoccupied with his own individual concerns
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 37

Faces that Day would be beaming
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 38

                  Cheerful and joyous
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 39

Faces that Day would be gloomy
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 40

                  Darkness covering them
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 41

Those would be the ones suppressing the Truth, the ones wicked
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 42
