Surah Abasa - English Translation by Dr Munir Munshey
He frowned and turned his face away
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 1

Because a blind man came to him (and interrupted him)
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 2

You don´t really know! Perhaps he would (shed his disbelief, and) grow in faith
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 3

He might heed (the warning); perhaps the reminder would benefit him
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 4

(Instead), the one who displays indifference
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 5

                  You attend to
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 6

It is not your failing if he fails to cleanse (himself of disbelief)
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 7

But, from the one who seeks you eagerly
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 8

                  And fears (Allah)
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 9

                  You divert your attention away
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 10

No, in fact this _ (the Qur´an) _ is a reminder
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 11

                  Anyone who cares, may heed
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 12

(It is inscribed) in the honored record
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 13

Sublime and held in high esteem
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 14

                  Set down by scribes
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 15

                  Noble and virtuous
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 16

Man be damned! How ungrateful is he
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 17

What was it, from which He created man
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 18

From semen! He created man, then assigned his nature
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 19

Then, He made the path (of righteousness) easy for him
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 20

Then He gave him death, and sent him to his grave
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 21

And then He will, whenever He wills, bring him back to life
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 22

No! Man did not do what Allah commanded him to do
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 23

Let man look at (the source of) his food
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 24

(To produce his food), We pour down plenty of water
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 25

(Then) We split the ground and lay it open
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 26

And out of it, We cause the grain to sprout
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 27

                  And the grapes and vegetables
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 28

                  The olives and dates
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 29

                  Woodland with dense foliage
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 30

                  And the fruits and fodder
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 31

Such is your, and your livestock´s sustenance
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 32

When the deafening blare (of the trumpet) sounds
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 33

Man will run away from his brother that day
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 34

                  And his mother and father
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 35

                  And his wife and son
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 36

Everyone that day would have far too many concerns (of his own), to care about others
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 37

Some faces that day, would glow
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 38

                  (With) happiness and joyful ecstasy
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 39

While some faces that day would be covered with (grim and grimy) shades
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 40

                  And overwhelmed by darkness
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 41

Such would be the unbelievers, the obstinate (sinners)
                  Surah Abasa, Verse 42
